Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!
First off, sorry for no newsletter for the past few weeks. I have be so incredibly
busy it is not even funny. But, it is all in a good cause which I will tell you all
about in the next week or two.
Second, I got the latest on the album and subsequent tour. The album is scheduled to
be released May 16th. A North American tour that is shaping up to include Canadian
dates as well will take place in late May and most of June.
Also got this from Sony (for those of you that did not already know...)
HEADS TOGETHER ON GRAMMY NOMINATION
This year's Grammy voters chose to honor the legendary UK metal band Motvrhead with a
nomination in the Best Metal Performance category for the track, "Enter
Sandman," a cover of the Metallica classic which appeared on the album ECW Extreme
Music (Slab/CMC International Records).
As it turns out, the actual recording of "Enter Sandman" features lead vocals by
Motvrhead's Lemmy with instrumental backing by the Orange County, California, punk/rock
band Zebrahead. Scheduling conflicts had made it impossible for all the members of
Motvrhead to gather at the recording studio, so Zebrahead (which, like Motvrhead, are
managed by Singerman Entertainment) were invited to handle the instrumental portion of the
track.
The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) is now crediting the
nomination as Motvrhead with Zebrahead. Which means that Zebrahead have officially
earned a Grammy nomination.
The other nominees for Best Metal Performance are Black Sabbath ("Iron Man"),
Ministry ("Bad Blood"), Nine Inch Nails ("Starf***ers, Inc."), and Rob
Zombie ("Superbeast").
Meanwhile, the members of Zebrahead are getting ready to release the follow-up to
the group's debut album Waste Of Mind. The new Zebrahead album, as yet untitled, is
due out in June 2000.
That is about it for now...

The Dance Remix of Ace of Spades, on the All The Aces/Muggers Tape double set made me
cringe. Don't get me wrong, Motorhead is, indeed, the most fucking rockingest band out
there, but a dance remix? Please. Take that garbage elsewhere.

Hi everyone,
Just read in last OS about lemmy getting his boot from ken market. I was in London a year
ago and went to that shop. I had my motorhead tshirt on and the salesguy instantly
started telling me about how they made the boots lemmy wears on stage. I didnt
really believe him as the guys who work in those leather shops tend to make used car
salesmen look easy going. Just intersting to hear that he was telling me the
truth, maybe i should be a bit less cynical from now on. Well thats enough crap from me,
cant wait to hear that new album.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about a Motorhead box set spanning their
entire carreer?? I read about it in this months metal hammer and it also said that
they are releasing the album in April/May, are gonna do a tour, Todd Campbell's band
Phyco Squad are gonna be on the tribute album as well. Also Lemmy's film is gonna be
out, but not at the film festival and it's gonna last 80 min.
Lemmy also said in the sutdio report that there gonna do a Rolling Stones cover and
that the albums gonna be called either "Out To Lunch" or "We are
Motorhead".
Hope that saisfies you

Subject: the t shirt mystery & bruces comments in issue 91
Dear Ace, Bruce et al.
My instant reaction was to agree that we ought to log on to the Top Shop web site and
give them hell, however thinking about it :-
The more agro they get the more likely they are to pull the design. They pull the design
and royalties are a non issue.
IF There is a copyright protection on either the logo or the band name then the Motorhead
management company / lawyers should be on the case. (I am sure Ace would know
who to call and mention this to ???)
If there is a legal case, let the lawyers deal with it, they are the evil buggers on $¸$¸$¸¸$$
per second. If there is no legal case and no legal copyright then all we would
accomplish would be for the store to remove the T shirts. Which would be counter
productive in the long run
The ultimate objective for all of us band included is to make Motorhead as successful as
possible, the free advertising that this gives them is worth a fortune. If we
assume a possible sale of 20000 shirts (on the conservative side) then assume that out of
that another 1000 people either come to the shows or buy a CD or two and the benefits are
clear.
lets see what the Motorhead management / lawyers say, then take it from there.
Yours
IAN

which is the spanish for "Use all your power", but I would discourage all of

CD is crappy. I have that track on .wav format, if anyone of you mortal souls could

As far as I know, this track was released on a couple of bootlegs: " 20 Years of Motorhead, 50 Years Of Lemmy" (1996 Damage
Case 2 CD, Japan) "1975-1995 Black Leather Jacket" (special 20th Anniversary edition digipack, cat. #DR 1096) I don't
know who originally wrote this song, maybe Elvis or something like that, but I also heard Stray Cats' version of that
song. By the way, "20/50 Years" CD also features 'Good Golly Miss Molly' by 'Don't Forget Your Toothbrush' project featuring
Lemmy. Does anyone know who played with Lemmy on this song?

Yes,you're right, this version shoots to death. As far as I know, Lemmy wasn't very happy
with this remix, cause it was made without his permission, they didn't even asked him! But
nevertheless, the track turned out to be an exellent remix, and it reached some
respectful position in the charts, somewhere between 50 and 60, so Unkle Lem

>War for war - a sabre in every fist!
>-John "The Watcher"
As far as I know, "No Sleep At All" is a pain in the ass for all maniac collectors. When it was issued on CD for the
first time on now defunkt Enigma Records (cat. # 7 75409-2) it had 'Stay Clean' and 'Metropolis' in the same running
order they were played on that concert in Finland - tracks #2 & #4. This edition had no booklet. Later in 1992 "No Sleep
At All" was reissued on CD by Castle (cat. # CLACD 285), 'Stay Clean' and 'Metropolis' disappeared from the track list, but
this edition has a booklet with lyrics and pics. When it was reissued as a remastered CD by Castle in 1996, those idiots put
long suffering 'Stay Clean' and 'Metropolis' onto the end of CD, while originally they were played at the begining of the
set!But the real masterpiece of such idiotism is a Korean "No Sleep At All" LP - thanks God it features 'Stay Clean' and 'Metropolis',
but Korean censors take off 'Dr. Rock', 'Eat The Rich' and 'Built For Speed' from the album! The reasons of that are
known only by themselves, but my version is that they were drunk when they decided which tracks to take off, 'cause ' Just
Cause You've Got The Power' is much more 'dangerous' to society than simple rock'n'roll hymn 'Dr. Rock', Their hands were
shaking because of the amount of whiskey they drank on that day, so they crossed out 'Dr. Rock' instead of 'Power'.I am not
sure if 'Metropolis' version was taken from 'Brixton' CD, maybe it was, but I read somewhere that in 1988 Motorhead wanted
to issue a Brixton recording as a live album, but they decided to issue the Finnish recording, 'cause it was of the better
quality. That "mystery" with those two tracks was created by the idiots from the recording companies, and now we have to look
for all this editions and to spend five times more money. But that's our destiny, ha-ha!

I hate to have to do this, but I must report that my best friend, and THE biggest Motôrhead
fan I've ever seen, Matt A. Vanderjagt has passed away. He was involved in a motorcycle
accident about 1 a.m. February 18th, 2000.
He didn't know ever single detail about ever album or every band member. But his pure love
for the music of Motôrhead and Lemmy's musical and philosophical genius was unparalleled
as far I'm concerned...
Mattie lived fast, and died young, but to his family and friends he was a wonderful part
of our life. He will be sorely missed but he lives on forever in our hearts and minds, and
in the music of Motôrhead...
You know we're going to lose, and gambling is for fools, but that's the way Matt liked it,
baby, he didn't want to live forever!!
Keep rocking, brothers, and if you can find time, say a little prayer for Matt...

1. Hippy Hippy Shake--The Early Beatles version
2. I like it like that(the name of the place) by the Dave Clark Five
3. Frankenstein--Edgar Winter
4. Tube Snake Boogie--ZZ Top
That's all I got for the moment--I tried to pick songs that I could actually hear the guys doing, and these aren't too far
off. I was also wondering if Lemmy was ever going to do a movie in which he had a larger part--he deserves more
than what he got in "Eat the Rich," "Hardware", and "Airheads." I got a couple ideas, but don't know where to send
'em. And these are the kind of movies that would scare the crap out of Hollyweird--Heavy Metal Action Movies.
Almost forgot--Lemmy was also in "Tromeo and Juliet."

I picked up a few Motor-items of interest recently. The first is a green vinyl re-issue of the Overkill album. It's
darker than the original green version, but still way cool! I don't have the catalog # in front of me, but I can tell you
I got it for $25.00 from http://www.musicmachine.comhttp://www.musicmachine.com
The 2nd item is the cd Swing Cats - A Special Tribute To Elvis (Cleopatra). Lemmy sings on three tracks, "Good
Rockin' Tonight", "Trying To Get To You", & "Stuck On You", & plays acoustic guitar on the last two. My
jury's out on this one. It sounds a little "tired". Much better was Lemmy & The Upsetters' "Blue Suede Shoes" from
years ago! Also, I saw an advance advert for the cd "Lemmy & Friends". The title escapes me but it was another
tribute to Elvis and/or 50's music. It'll be out March 23. Apparently, the cover has Lemmy wearing a silver suit!
Be very afraid!
