Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

Well, I am back safe and sound from Los Angeles! On thursday night of last week I had the opportunity to spend the evening hanging out with the guys in the recording studio as they were mastering the new album. Mikkey played 6 of the tracks for me and I must say that I was VERY impressed. Here is my take so far...

All the tracks I heard were comprised of straight ahead riffs that maintain the Motorhead sound. But, they still add a new freshness to the classic tones. It's wonderful! Phil's solos have never been better!

When I arrived, the guys were mastering a track that is tentatively being called Stage Fright. This is a great track that picks up where Snake Bite Love left off!

Mikkey then told me that he had spent the afternoon recording the drum tracks for a cover of Sanitarium for an upcoming Metallica tribute record. He also told me that the band had recorded a cover of God Save The Queen from the Sex Pistols and rushed me out to his car so that he could slap the tape in the deck. I must say it sounded AWESOME!! One of the best covers that I have ever heard Motorhead perform.

We headed back to the studio and Mikkey spent about an hour telling me the REAL story about what happened between him and King Diamond (but that is for another edition).

Mikkey and Phil took me into the studio to join Lemmy and we listened to several of the tracks that had already been mastered. First up was one that might be called "Stay Out Of Jail". This was my favorite track of the evening... but I must say that it was hard to choose!! Next was one that didn't have a name yet, but I will call it "The Names The Same". It had a very different bass line that I really liked! Very cool track.

Next up was "Out To Lunch". Another great track that reminded me a little of Take The Blame off of Snake Bite Love. It had the same groove, but a wonderful song. Next was "Slow Dance".... this one was VERY heavy and driving. Your going to love it! Next up was a track that was not titled yet that Mikkey told me "...makes Burner sound like a ballad! When I was recording this one, Howard Benson had to dump water on my legs so that they wouldn't catch fire!" ;-) This one RIPPED! Another Motorhead classic for the Mikkey Dee workout program...

The bottom line is your going to LOVE it! It is shaping up to be an absolutely awesome album!!

When I was at NAMM, I took a moment to check into the Rickenbacher booth to enquire about the Lemmy signature model bass. They reiterated what they told me last year... "The carving on that instrument is so radical and intense, we are having trouble finding equipment that can perform the work. We continue to look, but the technology does not exist to produce these basses in mass quantity yet."

My friend and respected collegue Ashley Milne accompanied me to the studio to check out the Motorhead tracks. Ashley is also one of the most talented photographers that I know. He got some shots of the guys in the studio at work on the album. I hope to have those for you on the website soon.

If they get enough complaints then they might give the royalities that are due. Even if they have some reason on how they can do it, lets give them bad press.

**Ace: All I can tell you is this... the guys tell me that there is NO retail agreement in place for their stuff... hence it must bootlegged.

Hi everybody,

>>>>Still wondering if anyone knows if and on which "Masterplan "
>>>>was released on any other albums, other then the Orgasmatron CD

----> yes, "Masterplan" was the B-side of the single "Stand By Your Man" performed by Lemmy and Wendy O. Williams
you can find it on two other Motorhead CDs: - "From The Vaults" ; sequel records - "Singles Collection" ; bronze, teichiku records ; Japan Import

by the way, does anyboby know the title of that CD from the band A.N.I.M.A.L., on which Lemmy is singing a cover of "Highway To Hell" ?

You told about you dont get any money for the motorhead web... i dont mind if you do or dont, you do the work and its right if you earn money!. I write to you to offering my help when you need it to design or add sections to "our" motorhead web, i mean, if you need or want some flash animation for the web, or something like it, just tell it to me... ok!?

**Ace: While it is true that I do not receive money for doing the Motorhead website, I would qualify that with the statement that I do it because I love the band and it's music. And, I do it because of all of you. If you wih to contribute, please do! If I like what I see, I will gladly use it on the site.

Hi Ace,

There have been a couple of references to Motorhead belt buckles in recent O/S newsheets. Personally, I have been hunting for a Motorhead belt buckle for a couple of years now without any luck. Until, that is, I bumped into Dave Kirby MHB1801 at the Astoria gig last December. Basically, Dave was a complete fucking hero and told me to get in touch with Alchemy in the UK. I have finally got my arse into gear and I called them today. They do indeed sell the official belt buckle (complete with red eyes and bloody great horns) for the princely sum of ?39.99 including postage. If anyone else needs one, get in touch with Alchemy at 0116 282 4824 (that's 00 44 116 282 4824 outside the UK) and quote reference PB5.

Ace, keep up the good work with O/S.

Dear Ace,

Excellent job running Overnight sensation; I've enjoyed it for some time now.

One Question; long ago in far off days when I was a student and could manage to stay up all night drinking I once saw a programme called "Black Leather Jacket" (no prizes for guessing the subject matter); with (very brief) appearances by Lemmy and Wurzel, lots of Motorhead on the soundtrack, and one track by "Lemmy and the Upsetters" (I think); very old fashioned and non-motorhead Rock and Roll called "Black Leather Jacket"; "Got a piano, and a sax to back it, here to rock and roll in my black leather Jacket". Has this ever been released on vinyl or disc; does anyone know?

I would also like to recommend and excellent compilation; "The Best Of Lemmy"; including Lemmy and Upsetters doing Blue Suede Shoes, and a triumphantly surreal version of "Stand by your man", with Wendy O'WIlliams.

I have a very special argentine Motorhead item. It?s a beer bottle from the last year. It was made specially for the "Motorhead Tribute Party" only sold at the party, I don?t have a picture, but it?s very very cool and imposible to get now. The front label is the "March or Die" cover, on back you?ll find the "Tribute Motorhead Party 1999" logo, and the "Motorhead" logo up. I have four empty bottles and two full ones, with the 3 Motorhead labels in MINT condition!!! very nice to display and very rare Motorhead item. In the other hand, the "Motorhead Party" was really really great!!! I?ll sell them for U$S 25 each (empty) and U$S 35 (full) plus U$S 15 (for REGISTERED AIRMAIL cost) They are very rare and really awesome! you will love it! Any question please, let me know. All the best,

Any help would be appreciated...

Hello to everybody!
Hey, you're a lucky owner of a REALLY GOOD AND RARE ITEM - as far as I understood from your description, you have a first edition of this single (I have it on 7'', and mine is a later edition on Big Beat, cat.# NS13),which colour do you have? It was pressed in black, pink, blue, orange and white vinyl.12.500 copies were made. It's not their first single (the 1st one was 'Leaving Here/White Line Fever' on Skydog, later on Stiff Records), it's the second one. Well, a good item I can say!

All the best for everybody,

Ahoy all Motorheadbangers!

Here's a mystery I just discovered concerning the remastered version of No Sleep At All, which contains live versions of Stay Clean and Metropolis tacked onto the end as bonus tracks.
The recording of Stay Clean does appear to be from the same Finland gig as the main album itself [really, the only clue is that Lemmy says "Its much too hot in this freezing country" after the song ends]. However, the live version of Metropolis which appears on this cd is not from this Finland gig at all, but was taken from the Live At Brixton recording from the same tour.

Does anyone care to speculate on why, if Metropolis was played as part of the set in Finland, that version was not used as the bonus track on this album? Also, can anyone verify whether or not the included recording of Stay Clean is really from the same Finland concert as the rest of the album?

But now I have lost it by a crash. Do you have one or your now someone they want do give it away please contact me. I want it to buy if it not so soiled. Please help me to comlete me again.

Jesuz Germany - Motorhead for lifetime

I think, the real Motorhead lineup is still Lemmy, Fast Eddie and Animal Songs like "Laugh at The Devil" from Fast Eddie's "It Ain't Over 'Till It's Over" Album sounds more Motorhead like the most new stuff.
