Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!
I will be heading to Los Angeles on Feb 2 to attend this year's NAMM show. I asked Lemmy
if he was attending when I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago and he said that he had not
yet been invited. Anyway, I will get the opportunity to see him while I am there and
hopefully hear some of the new tracks. As a result there will be no newsletter next
week.
Also, I got a call from Peter Sempel this week. Peter is the director/producer of
the Lemmy documentary. It turns out that the film will not be presented at the
Berlin Film Festival as he originally thought. I will keep you all posted on developments
as they occur.
Until next week....

Subject: os: lemmy, and his bourbon
In OS #87, Ace told us a funny story about how Lemmy never travels without his own
supply of Jack Daniels.
"...The Rollins Band had played on several of the European festivals with Motorhead. On one flight, Lemmy came into
the aircraft and saw Henry and asked if he could sit with him. Henry obliged of course ............the best part of the story
came when the stewardess came around with the drink cart. When she got to Lem, he asked if she had any Jack Daniels.
She did not. He then asked for JB. She didn't have any of that either. "OK, just give me a glass and a Coke please".
The stewardess complied and left. Lemmy called to one of the Motorhead crew and shouted "Bottle!". Suddenly a half
full bottle of JB was produced and Lemmy used the Coke as mix..."
Yeah, this is something I've seen Lemmy doing a few times. And, the last time was particularly funny. I was at the really
tiny aeroport of Alicante (a beach resort in Spain) waiting for the band and crew who were coming from Germany. When they
finally arrived, Lemmy and I went to have a drink at the aeroport's bar. As in Henry Rollins' story, Lemmy asked for a Jack
Daniels with Coke. When he was told they didn't have any Jack Daniels, he asked for a JB, but they didn't have any either.
Lemmy asked for a Coke with lots of ice, and next thing I heard was Lemmy shouting "BOTTLE!!" towards Tim (his bass tech).
Tim was at the other side of the hall, so not only Tim, but everybody at the aerport (crowded with retired North Europeans
looking for some sun) heard that "BOTTLE!!" grunt. In less than three minutes, Tim came where Lemmy and I were with a bottle
of Jack Daniels. I wish you all could have seen the face of the old bartender as Lemmy barked "thanks" to Tim, and poured
his bourbon over the Coke as if he was at his own home.
I hope you've enjoyed my story as much as I enjoyed living it.
In OS #89, Sam wrote about some weird and erroneous facts about Motôrhead and its members that had been published by the Spanish
Kerrang. I'm from Spain, so I'm gonna buy that magazine and find out who was the journalist who wrote the article and where
did he gathered the information from. It's amazing how some shitty music journalists are earning a bunch of money putting
out lies and not-verified news and data.
About this: "Lemmy actually is having health problems because of whiskey..."
Apart from some coughing now and then (me and the rest of smokers in the world suffer from
it too) Lemmy is in perfect health. As Ace said, "his heavy drinking may catch up
with him eventually.." ; but it hasn't yet
That's all folks, I just wanna say hello to Nigel Moore and Sarmad, two great monsters I
met last December during the Astoria bash. Hello also to my Spanish Motôr comrades,
Francisco Lorenzo, Jordi Martë and Juan Diez. And, a huge killer kiss to Jordi Garcëa,
the Spanish Promoter who makes me happy hiring MH to play in my country.

Hey ! Still wondering if anyone knows if and on which
"Masterplan " was released on any other albums, other then the Orgasmatron
CD, just curious, never heard it before that and it rocks!! Also, this movie
is supposed to be shown at the German film festival, when will it be available in
North America and where? Any news on the MC5 video, also with Lemmy in it?
The album with Slim Jim, will that be available in the States/ Canada any
time soon. What label is it on? Someone mentioned having the Motorhead/
City Kids single chiswick '77, it's the 2nd official release, according to the book,
I have it to. The first is Leaving Here and White Line Fever on Stiff Records
"77, and one of these songs was also on a Stiff Compilation full length album
released that year. Are there any potential tour dates for Canada this spring
summer, yet?

**Ace: To answer your first question... I am not sure. The seocnd question
comes up a lot. I get several emails a month asking me to send them autographed
photos, picks, etc. Quite frankly, I do not have these items. In an effort to
meet the demand, I managed to arrange for a few autographed items to be available for sale
from the website... the revenue helps support the website (I do not get paid for the
website or this list). Thanks for your support. :-)

Morning All
Good news for the endless mailers asking for Motorhead T shirts.
That well known British teeny girls store 'Top Shop' not only stock sleeveless MH
T-shirts but also promote them with full window displays, complete with model in snakeskin
trousers and cowboy hat.
Leicester town centre 22/01/99: Gently strolling around the town, I noticed said
window display and laughed like a madman, After wearing the things for around 20 years
they finally come back into fashion !!
I am led to believe that 'Sporty Spice' wore one recently. Perhaps searching for the
credibility that eluded her with the Spice Girls. Still let's not be too harsh or
judgmental, it could mean a new 'Special Guest' at Motorhead concerts and given the very
sad passing of Wendy someone needs to duet with Lemmy on 'No Class'
And of course it will mean crowds of Young ladies at the shows, and more MH on telly !!
Hurrah!
However, I am willing to bet that poor old Lemmy isn't seeing much in the way of Royalties
from all these T shirts. Take into account that Top Shop is a national chain and given all
the size variations etc I would guess a run of at least 100,000. If Lemmy & The
Boys don't see a penny will someone please ring the lawyers.
See you all soon
Ian

Hello everybody !
Hats off to Ola Nyberg, because his/her analysis in OS #88 was overwheelming , as it's describes exactly how I see the evolution
of Motvrhead through the time. I never read a better thing on that matter.
I just want to add something, explaining why Eddie's and Philty's era was "over the
top" for me. I discover them in '77 (uh! uh!) with their first LP but I had to wait
'til '81 to see them playing live. This very first concert (in Switzerland) had totally
blewn the venue away, it was massive sonic attack. I felt something "magical" in
the air when Philty, Eddie and Lemmy played together, and never found this special feeling
again after the departure of Eddie. They were like the five fingers of a hand.
Nevertheless, I really enjoy the current line-up, I think the boys are great. I still buy
their records and I wouldn't miss one of their gigs.
Just an information about Motvrhead playing at the Gods of Metal festival in Milano '99.
Phil's roadie plays in a group called "Get animal" and they already have
released a record; the music is very interseting: sleazy Rock'n'roll a la WASP
(helldorado), AC/DC, etc. Check them out. Unfortunately, they receive a very bad welcome
from the crowd, as they were not announced in the bill.
By the way, it was interesting (and better for the ears) hearing Motvrhead playing
outdoor, as the sound was still loud and powerfull (and everebody can hear clearly each
instrument), despite sound problems on stage. I really enjoy their massive sound outdoor,
as it was clearer and deeper.
Keep rockin'.

This was inspired by a joke in #89. And if you - Ace - like the
following, maybe you can pass it on to the "Man". I think that a
good name for the tour, following the new album, would be: "The MILEMMYUM Crash
Tour" or "The MILEMMYUM Bug Tour" or "The MILEMMYUM Bugger
Tour" or something along those lines. Maybe other contributers to this list
can come up with an even funnier variation of the theme? Says: A Natural Born
Swedish Bastard. Hears one more that I nearly missed even thought it should
have been the most obvious of all: "The MILEMMYUM CRUSH Tour"

Ace, Well, I just got my first edition of the list, and it was great. It's pretty kick-ass to read
letters from Motorheadbangers from around the world. I myself have been a die-hard fan for about the last 18 or
19 years, ever since I heard Iron Fist. I was lucky enough to see them in Germany back in '85, but have not
seen them since. I am trying to complete my CD collection of Motor-hits and would greatly appreciate a complete discography
of their releases. Just their full studio and live offerings, not any of the various record-label compilations.
Also, I seem to remember seeing the "Rock-&-Roll" album being offered in a solid leather album cover when it
originally came out. Any chance that this is being offered as a CD cover or any way to get my hands on one of
the leather-covered LPs? Thanks again for a fine piece of Motorhead Internet Magic!

Hello Lemmy, Fast Eddie and Phil clones,
If you are from the upper midwest (US) and would be interested in joining a MOTORHEAD
TRIBUTE BAND, I'm the guy to see. I am a drummer with Lemmy's vocal chords who is very
serious about forming a MOTORHEAD TRIBUTE BAND. I am a veteran of the Rock/Metal scene and
am putting together a band that will perform any and all Motorhead classics and newer
material also. The project will be mostly based out of love for these tunes, but if money
can be made, all the better. I have professional rehearsal space and have a flexible
schedule. All I ask is that you are easy to get along with and like to play loud.
No thieves, junkies or wimps are invited, but if chain-smoking cigs and drinking
beer appeal to your interest, WELCOME HOME! I have some shows lined up, all I need are
some people ready to play. I've already sat with some of my other musician friends but all
they can get thru is about 1/2 of "Ace of Spades" followed by whining complaints
of "You want to play this stuff ALL NIGHT?"
If your answer is yes, Email me at the following address:boneskull75@webtv.net or phone

Marvellous !
It's great to hear some of the tours.
I was at the 10th Birthday party (amongst many others) at Hammersmith in 1985. If that ever crops up I'd love to hear a bit.
Do you know of an album called What's Wordsworth ? I've got the tape but I'm trying to get
it on CD. It's from 1978. I also have a decidedly dodgy one called Titties and Vodka, a
definite bootleg.
