Motorheadbangers Everywhere!!

The t-shirts have arrived and they look GREAT! Most have mailed. For the new people on the list, check out http://www.imotorhead.com/tshirt.htm. Remember, the shirt is fully endorsed by the band, making it an official product!! I encourage all of you to wear these to the shows in October.. .that way we can all find each other...

The new album will be released in the spring of 2000. Lemmy told me that the early front runner for an album title is "We Are Motorhead". I emphasis that this is an early choice... and every time that they have given me an early choice in teh past, they have changed it before the final release.

I also had the opportunity to hear a special song that they are covering for this album... but I have been sworn to secrecy as to the title... but I think you will all love it!

Also, Lemmy is working with Slim Jim, formerly of rockabilly giants, The Stray Cats on a new album. Lemmy will be contributing a cover of a classic Elvis track. Which one has not been decided yet.

I have some VERY unofficial tour dates. I want to emphasis that these dates have not been given to me by Motorhead's management. Instead, they have come from other web sources (specifically the Nuclear Blast website and Ticketmaster.com).

Now that it looks like the first Internet tribute album will be released exclusive to visitors of the official website. So, I would like to initiate plans to produce a sequel! There haver already been several bands that have contacted me and expressed interest in participating. So, heres the idea...

Any of you out there that are part of a band that loves to play Motorhead tunes, how would you like to contribute a song? The songs would intially available only as Real Audio files on the official website. The first tribute got listened to by over 5000 people. Here is your chance to get your band heard playing songs by your favorite band!

I have already had several bands email their interest... but we need more. If you are interested, please send me an email to acetrump@bigfoot.com. Make sure that subject of the email is "OS Tribute 2". I will send out a seperate email to the bands with details about the project so that it doesn't clutter up the list. Oh, and I promise that it will take NO WHERE near as long to get this one up and running!

Recently I was watching a sketch on the Late Night with Conan O'Brien show. It involved the band trying out a Metal look and sound to be more flashy. Basically, the band was screaming, some pyrotechnics went off and the cover art from March or Die came down from the ceiling. Could Motorhead be headed for mainstream???

I was watching the tube late last Saturday night, and VH1 was hawking a CD series from Rhino Record called "Big Hair" or something like that. (I was in no state of mind to be paying close attention!) They are compilations of songs from crummy hair bands like Cinderella, Extreme, Warrant and other so-called "heavy metal" bands. What burned my butt about the whole thing is that the CD cover art has umlauts over two of the letters in "Big Hair." Arrrgh! Ripping off Lemmy to sell junk to clueless teenage girls! If the Man was dead, he'd be spinning in his grave!

P.S. Saw the guys a few months ago at NYC's Irving Plaza with the Drop Kick Murphys. I brought along a few Motorhead virgins. Needless to say, we have some new disciples. Lemmy & co. still amaze me every time I see them.

Its 7:57am, Australia. I am lying in bed about to get up. listening to the radio (triple J) and what does the DJ say? "Heres a little motorhead to get you fired up" I just about blew my load when "ace of spades" came blaring through my little alarm radio.
This is the first time I've ever heard motorhead on Australian radio. Its about time though. I was so stoked I had to report it.
On another matter, does anyone know how much money motorhead has earned from being covered by Metallica? I read in Metal hammer magazine that Mercyful Fate has earned more in royalties then they ever did selling records. So to all you motorhead fans, especially those in Oz who I know are waiting for MH to tour, lets keep at the radio stations to keep the good tunes rolling.

Subject: os: metal art zine, a call for contributors

Dear Ace, I have been working on a series of metal related drawings and have even exhibited a couple (one of Lemmy and one of an amazing 17th Century upholstered bed - guess one of my passions becomes a little transparent!) in a group exhibition here in London which was called 'Passion'. I am really keen to collect a series of images - either drawings, photographs, paintings - and writings, song lyrics etc, for a zine I am producing which is tentatively called 'For those about to rock we salute you' (I know this might urk a few purists - but the zine is about how Metal has inspired people to make and create things - be they tiny or grand in scale). I am continually stunned when reading the contents of this page and through checking out other sites how devoted and passionate people are. I am a huge Metal fan (with Motorhead at the top of my list) and I am keen to channel the excitement and committment felt by so many people into something visual that can be shared and distributed among devotees but also further afield. I would be grateful if you would post this on the mailing list to see if people out there might be interested in contributing. At the moment plans are very luddite (paper-based production). It is self-financed and a labour of love. Permissions for reproduction would need to be granted by the makers/rights holders. All contributors would receive a copy. Also with the art work that you are planning to post on your (mighty-fine) site - is your preference paper or scanned images? If scanned then what kind of resolution/size of image is good for you? Keep up the excellent work. Receiving the OS page each week is a sheer delight. Cheers xxxx heather

**Ace: Scans are fine. 72 DPI JPGs prefered....

Hey Ace, first and foremost you do a great job on the website and keeping this newsletter up and running. Thank you for that. Also, it was nice to see you at Cowboys in Calgary when Motorhead played here. I hope to bump into you again sometime. Ok, here is where I finally put my two cents in. I am sick and tired of these moron's asking to get copies of CD and tapes for there personal (pathetic) collections. There is nothing cool about having an ass load of pirated music from a band you (or it would appear) enjoy hearing/seeing. For chris' sake get a fargin' job and BUY a copy of the CD. Motorhead is not in the business to make music for some skeevey sack of shit to get a free copy of because he is to cheap to BUY his own copy. I can see these same stupid assholes trying to sneak into the concert without paying and maybe steal a T-shirt from the stand to avoid buying one and helping to support the band. IF you are a true Motorhead fan BUY their CD's. Buy ALL their CD's. Go to the concerts and buy some T-shirts. Support them or they will no longer be able (more like willing) to continue to make the kind of music we want to rock to. Trevor

Roll up roll up roll up: The motorhead millenium survey is here at last. Often promised but never delivered, this genius work relied upon me learning how to do cgi things. It is here at last though, so your wailing and gnashing of teeth may now stop. It is located at http://freespace.virgin.net/oliver.cornfield so go and take a look. I set this up after seeing a similar effort at the motorhead tabs site a while back. That poll was discontinued however, but now there is a new one!!! I would encourage you all to go and vote on your best song, solo, lyrics and album, so the scores can be settled........ The poll is a masterpiece of CGI engineering, which can handle up to a million votes and the addition of new songs/albums to its code. I want it to run and run but I also want it to be fair. Many polls I have seen give the votes a "headstart" but I refused to do this. So bear in mind the results table may look a bit bland to start with. Also bear in mind after trawling through the Perlscript I couldn't really be arsed with tarting it up HTML-wise so it ain't too pretty. Please do not multiple vote when you vote by the way! Elsewhere in the news this week: Shock horror as the Cornfile considers updating his links page! Two pages in one lifetime- palace prepares statement! Any and all submissions for links must be sent to oliver.cornfield@virgin.net with "Links" as the subject line. It doesn't matter if the site is tenously or even not at all Motorrelated, send it anyway! This applies to sites already listed who need the link updating. The best sites also have a pic on the links page so Ace or anyone else- if you want a different pic then send it to me! I will shortly also be revising (surely not another page) the messageboard slightly. This will no doubt come as a great relief to some of you (and me) who are totally fed up with it. Prepare for a new dawn.............
Thanks and drivel burble

I think it would be great if you would offer Motorhead "Stuff" through your site. I get really frustrated, like now, when I need some new Motorhead materials to collect and I have everything that is being offered.
Ace I think I know your answer to this one but what is wrong with Motorhead bootlegs and CDR's if the material on them is not available any other way? I know the band does not make a dime but does this really piss a guy like Lemmy off ? At least if someone is interested in bootlegging Motorhead material isn't it a kind of fucked up complement? Well I can see this could be argued over forever.
Please get those T-shirts out and the Tribute CD. Can't wait and keep up your great work.
Best Motorhead albums are:
"O shit I love em all!"

My best,

Hello boys and girls, hope you are all well.
Stumbled across this link, hope you enjoy it - http://www.carltontv.co.uk/data/rock/lemmy.html

Weak albums? I agree, March Or Die was a bit lame, but even Motorhead s weaker albums have some absolute pearlers on them (such as the title track of MOD). Rock n Roll wasn t all it could have been, but again there are some great tracks on there and I bet the men themselves wouldve liked to have made a better album given half a chance (hear Phils comments on the Everything Louder Than Everything Else vid from 91).

Cant wait for the Orgasmatron 99. Easily one of my all time favourite songs. Just hope Lem doesnt do all that laughing and talking during the solos.

Stay clean you good, good people.

Greetings Fellow & Lady Motorheads !

After seeing all the posts in search of Mtorhead t-shirts, I found a place in a magazine I thought I'd share. CIRCUS magazine, to be exact. They have a full page ad in the new issue with Jon Davis from Korn on the cover. There is a picture of the first MH album cover (war-boar) on the shirt that was pictured, so this should make a lot of people happy. Before I relay the address to you, bear in mind that I am in no way associated with this organization, nor am I receiving any compensation whatsoever for posting this. I just saw the t-shirt available, and thought my fellow fans would have their seach for a Motorhead t-shirt come to a happy ending !! They also have many other hard-to-find t-shirt bands available such as Venom, et al.

The ad says :

Send $2 for catalog to :
Gesner Legion
P.O. Box 497

Broadway, New Jersey 08808

If weary about the accuracy of this post, check the latest issue of Circus Magazine for their full page ad.
