Motorheadbangers Everywhere!!

I spoke to the silk-screener on friday and I will have the shirts on Monday!! I am VERY excited! For the new people on the list, check out http://www.imotorhead.com/tshirt.htm. Remember, the shirt is fully endorsed by the band, making it an official product!! I encourage all of you to wear these to the shows in October.. .that way we can all find each other...

I add some new stuff to the website this week. When I left the boys on the May/June tour this year, I gave Phil Campbell one of those disposable cameras. He used it over the course of the rest of the tour and mailed it back to me. I have posted the results of this chaos on in the picture gallery... enjoy!

I have also started to get some cool pictures from all of you... I will post these ASAP. I know that there are some super talented artists out there... send me your Motorhead art!

As the previous rumours have implied, it looks like Motorhead will be touring the United States again in October. I have no dates yet, but as soon as I do, you will get them. The great news is that they will be touring with a great up-and-coming band, Nashville Pussy! A great double bill if I do say so myself! And, yours truly will make ever effort to catch as many shows as possible. I'll keep you posted!

I have been thinking about something that I want your opinions on. I know that some of you have asked me to provide some special Motorhead collectibles to you through the site. I have mixed feelings about it, but I am willing to entertain it. The Motorhead site is something that I do as a labor of love. The band pays for the storage space (on the server), but the design, etc is all me. Some of the revenue from these sales would help defer some of the costs that I experience with regards to the site. I was thinking things like signed posters or CDs. Tell me what you think....

Well, it looks like the highly successful Make 'Em Deaf Forever internet tribute will probably find it's way onto CD. I am planning to make this a VERY limited edition of 500. Each CD will be numbered out of 500. Once their gone, their gone. There are some awesome covers of classic Motorhead tracks on this offering, including a track by long time Motorhead friends Skew Siskin. I am awaiting final approval from the band's management for the release of this disc. The current plan is to offer it on the internet only. Destined to be one of the rarest Motorhead offerings ever!

With all the talk lately about how people say metal is evil and how Motorhead's video's are never aired, I thought I'd just tell you that I agree, BUT... A few weeks ago on Loud (a heavy metal music videos show MuchMusic (the MTV of Canada)) had an entire show dedicated to an interview with Lemmy. Lemmy voiced his opions about about the current state of music, critics, the new live album, their nomination for a grammy a few years back, Metallica's tribute to them, and he got to pick all the videos that they played. This episode was aired a little over a month ago (I think), but a replay of it was showed a few weeks ago. It just goes to show that Motorhead isn't being TOTALLY ignored, but the last time I saw a Motorhead video before that was Hellraiser, during Feburary, I think...

Actually, I did tape it, but I have no idea how I would be able to make a copy. I have only one (really old) VCR. Did anyone else out there see this and tape it?

I saw Nashville Pussy at the 40 Watt in Athens GA in the summer of '96. They were opening for a friend of a friend's circus-themed band called Big Top, the lead singer of which was a 6'6" guy dressed as a clown.

Anyway, after the gig we were filing out when there was a fight at the exit between a short belligerant frat boy and one of the club's bouncers.

The big clown for Big Top rushed to break up the fight and pushed the frat boy back, and the frat boy looked at him and screamed, "DON'T FUCK WITH ME, CLOWN!"

Bulgarians made it an ONE (1) CD and put only 18 tracks on it. So, i think that is gonna be rare (because they only print >about 2000 copies of each CD they pirate), and if someone are interested in getting this version of "Everything...." please contact me on my mail address.

Personally I don't think your cd will ever be a collector's item because:
1) it's not that rare if you think how "rare" the copies made at home with a PC are!
2) there's lots of places in the world where you can obtain illegal copies of cds, sometimes albums and "best of"-cds that don't even really exist! I have bought some cds from Estonia, and I don't think it's all that cool to have cds that you know are (usually poor quality) copies
3) If you met Lemmy, would you have the guts to present this cd to him and ask him to sign it for you? I doubt it.
4 - 100) It's never fun to have a pirate copy. The sleeve quality is often poor and there are pages missing.

These things only representate my opinion, but I think most of you people agree with me on some points.

seems to be a problem following our fav bass player:

Dave Brock on some scenes during Hawkwind gigs at the time: "The other night Simon King kept hitting Lemmy on the legs with his drumsticks because Lemmy kept staggering into his cymbals. I had a go at Lemmy the other because he just couldn't pull himself together, and he threw his bass on the stage because the strings kept coming out of the bridge. At Hammersmith Lemmy's lead kept coming out of the amp, and he carried on playing... He's so deaf he didn't even realise. He plays so loud, man. That's what annoys Simon House. Lemmy plays so loud he can't hear a thing we're playing. And we were all shouting to Lemmy, you know, 'your fuckin' lead, man' and he still didn't understand. Then somebody plugged in in and I told him 'you cunt, if you do that again, I'll fuckin kill you.' And sure enough he did it again. We were all freaking out about that. Lemmy's quite a good front man, though. He can put it about a bit. Likes to pose a lot." quite funny - man, should've wanted to see good ol' 'wind live with lemmy in the old daze...! for those unfamiliar with hawkwind: check out releases between '71-78 ('72-'75 with lemmy). 'space ritual alive' or the boot 'space rock from london' highly recommended. both are live concerts and shows lemmy bass playing to the full. oh, and the sequel to 'space ritual...' (the 'space ritual vol 2') has a GREAT lemmy-bass intro to '7 by 7'....!!!

Hi, I'm a Motrhead collector from Belgium and read about the first album. Well, mine is in black vinyl, "Keep us on the Road" is spelled right, it's a Big Beat production with WIK2-B on it and the logo's got the swastika on the second head-pin. I miss the inner sleeve though. It's an originale 1977 product and i am proud of it. Tip : sometimes you can find rare or original albums in the cellars of librairies who sell out or want to get rid of their old stuff. Keep us on the Road ! Nicolas

But the best idea is the Motorheadshop, it is the only way to get Motorhead-stuff for me in Germany. Would be great, if you dont only sell t-shirts, but also videos and all the other stuff we cant get in Germany. And PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE dont exclude international orders!!!

Salutations Ace,

Eric here. Here is a small studio report from the sessions taking place at NOTE STUDIO with our band DECAYED REMAINS:

August 17, 1999
DECAYED REMAINS entered once again NOTE STUDIO in Trois-Rivires in order to begin the recordings for their second album 'One Man's Fate' (the band did its preproduction in these studios). The sessions began with the drums tracking and soundchecks and will go on for two days.

In the first day new drummer Francis Perron put on tape half of the songs to be featured on the album. He even managed to record some of them in ONE TAKE! Quite a talented drummer he is...

Day two will be used to complete the drums tracking and start the bass soundchecks. A new report will be issued on August 18.

Hello Motorheadbangers arond the world!

Last issue, Oliver Cornfield wrote about the Motorhead video I mentioned.

> I hate to break the news to you but if you look closely at that video you'll find the tracks are rather clumsily dubbed on from >the studio versions.

You didn't surprised me at all, because there is no crowd sound at the video, so how can it be alive? But thank you for suggesting those other videos I'll look for them as soon as I can.

I just bought Iron Fist which Lemmy said it is one of the weakest Motorhead album. It has not the power of the others but how can an album including "Iron Fist" be weak? The others songs may not be perfect but they are good anyway. But I won't consider it to be the weakest while my Motorhead collection isn't complete.

I don't know if anyone did this before, but I' d like to ask you Motorheadbangers if you consider any Motorhead album weak in anyway.

Let me hear you!

Thank you!

Subject: re: os72 - motorhead motorhead album 1977

In response to "Alpendre's" request for info. regarding different pressings of the 'Motorhead' album I can advise the following:
Original release was on the Chiswick label (WIK2), the first 600 copies had the sleeve printed in silver, thereafter the usual black & white. The following year the album was re-pressed on coloured vinyl. Still on the Chiswick label (CWK3008), on white vinyl with the words 'White Vinyl Fever' added to the sleeve and no such wording on the standard black vinyl (obviously!). Also on the Big Beat label (WIK2 - again) in red or clear vinyls. On these last two the sleeve has the Motorhead name in red print and the words 'Includes inner sleeve with rare pix'. I am unsure if the original pressing did have an inner sleeve - the copies I have do not.
Proves the point that you can have too much of a good thing!! Especially for the completists who like to have a copy of everything. I wish it was just one of each album - same cat. no. and identical sleeve / label etc, regardless of what country it was pressed in - then I wouldn't have to have twelve copies of the Overkill album!!

Hope the above helps.

For reference my info. comes from a) Own collection, b) Record Collector Magazine -Issue 140, c) Motorheadbangers Fan Club publications. (Well worth joining for 7.50 per year UK!).

In response to "LEMMY" who wanted the guitar tabs for Killed By Death and for all those out there with a musical bent - the music for all the band's albums (I think) is published and can be purchased. I have the music books for the No Remorse, Bastards, Overkill and Ace Of Spades albums. The books include lyrics, guitar chords and music and usually many photos of the band. So check out the second-hand bookstores as well as the record dealers!!
The Killed By Death music doesn't seem to include the solo or intro though....sorry!
The book for No remorse is reference no. ISBN 0 86359 209 0 , order ref: 09697 and published by International Music Publications Limited, Southend Road, Woodford Green, Essex. IG8 8HN England. Try ordering!? Of the books I have, two were bought at Tower records in London quite some time after the album was released so it's always worth a look!

Photocopying scores is illegal so I couldn't possibly....... but if "LEMMY" wants, and sends me his address, well......!!

Further to Kelly's report of the Live Loud and Lewd album. It sounds like it's yet another re-packaging of the What's Words Worth album. That was recorded in London, at the Roundhouse on 18th February 1978 and has the same track list. It's certainly worth having in your collection in some shape or form - and has been been extensively issued under several names. Though the original WWW does not have the Motorhead track either, so if I am right then that may have been lifted on from elsewhere too.
