I have just picked up the new double live and am I blown away! This the best live album to date. All of my friends called me the day it came out because they knew that I would have it and they wanted to know just how good it was . I of course told them in no uncertain terms that it was the new Mototrhead album and I would buy it if it was a duet Christmas album with Lemmy and fucking Wayne Newton. Just buy the thing and play it loud and often.

This is the first time I have posted something on this list. As far a T-shirts go, as long as it has something to do with Motorhead, I'm all for that. I assume that you will have something posted as to (if &) when they will be available and how we can get one? I hope to get my copy of the new live album soon, and after hearing Snake Bite Love, I'm really looking forward to new material from Lemmy and CO. Keep up the great work Ace and most importantly, KEEP ROCKIN'!

Simple. People are assholes. They think that paying for something gives them the right to abuse whatever they're paying for. There's one way to stop 'em: get a whole ton of people to threaten him, or worse.

And, last thing: we can't put the names of all the OS members on the list because the list is constantly changing.

Well, I am proud to say that I have the new live album, and I would say that my ass was blistered when all was said and done. I think Bomber is my favorite song. Orgasmatron and Overkill are tied for a very close second. Congratulations to Lemmy and the boys for another job well done.

PS Is it true about the band doing a 2 month promotional tour for the live album. If so, please come to the state of Indiana and kick our asses. I've seen Motorhead twice as an opener, and I would love to see them headline at least once.

I had heard that they were playing the Maritime in S.F., and immediately purchased tickets via the internet. Ironically, the last time they were supposed to play S.F. they cancelled. Rumor has it that they were going to headline and W.A.S.P. was scheduled to open,.....Blackie and Lemmy ended up brawling, and (I hate to say it) apparently Blackie got the best of him! I wonder why they canceled this time.

hei all!
since the clip was such a "success" (if we can talk in such terms about a serious matter), ive dug deep into my vaults and found another clip, this dating back to a concert in 96 (if i remember right)
they must've felt real small, those beer-throwers... a rowdy crowd gone suddenly very quiet :-)
the 1st one was:
and as a bonus, an example of lemmy's memory (he visited my small home town 3 times, the first one way back in 1972, with hawkwind...):
these are all small-sized, short .mp3 clips, so u should get an .mp3-player somewehere.

oh, and thanx ever so much Ace, for sending me those OS issues i missed!!! :-)

Hello ya all...

In issue #58 Ace asked if anyone wanted to make a sequel to "Make Em? Deaf Forever". Well Ace, I?m with you on that and I?d like to ask if there is enough bands on the mailinglist for a second album? By the way, I?d like to sign up for two t-shirts size L. Last friday I me and my band played at a place here in town. We included "Go to hell" in the show and as an ancore (that?s what is?s called, right?)we did "Ace of spades". It was the best gig I?ve done...

Going by the rumours that they're doing some Euro festival dates in the summer, and that they're touring with Metallica..

does this mean they may be one of the final 'support' acts on the UK Big Day Out lineup??

I really hope it is, I was pretty pissed when I heard they were playing the US Ozzfest last year, when we had to put up with Coal Chamber...this'd certainly make up for it :)

Also, as I don't know anyone else that actually likes them, it'd mean I'd have a chance to see them live without having to go to a gig on my own :>

Subject: os: everything louder with drugs?

The new Motorhead live CD has unfortunately been delayed in UK. Tower Records say they'll have it on March 28th where as Virgin and Our Price will have it ont he following week. I'm waiting with baited breath! But thanks to Jim Voxx from Skew Siskin (support band at the German tour from where the live CD was recorded) I have video footage from the Hamburg gig itself. Jim did a great job filming bits of the gig and it looks great! Once I get access to a capture card and I'm given the final all-clear (we're waiting for the Hamburg clips to be aired on German TV first) video clips from the live CD will be put on my web-site. Motorhead have given the approval for that.

In response to the many postings about the best drugs to take when listening to Motorhead, this is something I must confess to have experimented with in the past. I've been to four Motorhead gigs so far, everyone of them I was fueled in some way.
I found that while some drugs certainly do enhance the Motorhead experience, some can spoil the enjoyment. Either way, the drug user must be sensible in choosing the type of drug and in the dosage he takes. After all, what's the point of being totally stoned out of your head when you're just going to forget whatever happened at the gig?

1995, London Forum. The security guard at the entrance didn't manage to find my joint of Skunk I had hidden on me. When my friend Paul and I went into the hall, we saw there were already people around us heating their black rocks over lighter flames so we didn't feel the only ones. I immediately lit up and we both smoked. The support band, Cathedral, their set went really well with the intoxication with their catchy tunes. However, when Motorhead came on things became disastrous. The ear-shattering decibels, Lemmy's gruff voice, the vibrating floor, all merged into distortion. We both imagined totally different songs to the ones that were actually being played. Certain songs even repeated themselves in our heads over and over again throughout the gig, no matter what the current song was playing. The opening song was "Ace Of Spades". Paul could swear that the Motorhead played that song about four times during that show, the song just kept on creeping up in his head. After "On Your Feet Or On Your Knees" came on, some songs later they were playing "Bomber" and half way through I suddenly imagined it changed back into "On Your Feet..." My head just wasn't picking up "Bomber" at all all I could hear in my head was the other song. And that happened with other songs. By the end of the gig I was certain that "Too Late Too Late" was played on the night. Confusing because when I saw the set list afterwards, that song wasn't even on there. In fact, Lemmy & Co hadn't done that song on stage for at least years and it wasn't played live until 1998! Anyway, the funnier side is that Paul didn't know where I had hidden my joint when the security guard was checking me - otherwise he wouldn't have allowed the substance to pass his lips!

1995: Donington Monsters Of Rock festival: On the night before the almost(!) annual festival, it's tradition for the concert goers to turn up and camp out on the field outside the venue. I was sitting with some people around a camp fire as a one-foot long joint was being passed around. I was playing the Sacrifice album from a stereo and people were appreciating it. However, into the third song, people were feeling sick until the tape was changed to something slower.
Verdict: Marijuana and Motorhead don't mix well. No recommended.

1997, London Astoria. No illicit substances on that show for me, just alcohol that I drank on the train on my way to the venue.
Not only is it legal but in my opinion it's the best intoxicant for a Motorhead gig. Just take enough to make you cheerful
and don't overdo it. I was really in with the atmosphere, sang along like there was no tomorrow and really enjoyed myself.
For me this was the best Motorhead gig I'd ever been to, all because of the hyper-cheerful mood I was in due to the bottle.

Though this is Lemmy's choice of drug when on the road, it's not for the punter at a gig. Due to sleepless nights from the pressures of work, the last two Motorhead gigs at London Brixton Academy, 1997 & 1998, were some of the occasions when I would resolve to this substance to keep me awake. The substance was tactically consumed before setting off from home so the long train journey from North East London to Brixton would pass quickly. This also quickened the support-bands and change-overs between sets for me, so it didn't seem long from when I got out of the house that afternoon that Motorhead's headlining set began! But alas, as soon as their show began it was all over too quickly for me. Throughout the gig, I felt detached from the atmoshere like I was watching it on VCR and if I ever felt impatient I had the power to fast-forward to the next song. I might've missed some of Lemmy's humourous banter between songs and I didn't have the capability to rewind the tape in my head. One advantage, however, it certainly keeps you going when standing in the front row and you can easily cope with all that frantic moshing around you without even passing out! Lemmy tends to take it on tour but that's because he's not the one who has to watch the gig. All those nights without sleep when on the road, gigs and aftershow parties on consecutive nights, he needs something to stop him from falling asleep on stage. The only time for me when Motorhead and speed does mix well is when doing monotonous housework, cleaning, decorating, etc. The speed makes the boring time pass quickly and eases fatigue. Having Motorhead music playing on the hi-fi at the same time quickens your working pace even more - you can get the job finished quickly. I've used that mixture when on the exercise bike and I just kept on going for ages without getting exhausted. Motorhead playing in the background made me ride faster. Speed stopped me from getting tired. I was amazed at all those calories I burnt away!

At concerts, take alcohol but just enough to make you merry. If you must take a drug when working to Motorhead music, take
speed. But don't take too much or you can't sleep for days!

I agree with whoever posted that the T-Shirts should be of high quality. With the exception of the OS tour, Motorhead concert shirts have been uniformly poor quality -- very thin cotton and scratchy. It's worth a few extra bucks.

Hey all from the Baked Pueblo (Tucson AZ) Spent the weekend pissing off the neighbors playing the new live disc. If played loud enough, it also removes those unsightly mold & mildew stains from the shower. Also got to see our friend Lemmy in an "Airheads" replay on Comedy Central. His one line steals the movie. Oh yeah, put me down for two XXL (I gotta get Pizza Hut off my speed dial) T-shirts. Don't care what they look like, just menacing enough to get noticed. And hopefully the band will schedule an Arizona show this time around. From a man who went to see Motorhead at the Hollywood Palladium in 1982 instead of going to the Senior Prom, I wish you all happy temporary tinnitus, Randy from Tucson

Hello Ace!

My wife and me are MotorheadManiax since 1982. We pretty much like the old stuff (1975-1982).
My wife was lucky enough to be able to see the two 10th Anniversary shows in London's Hammersmith Odeon (June 28 & 29, 1985). Therefore we have the following question:
Are the any plans for a special 25th Anniversary Tour in 2000 (especially for dates in Germany)?
If yes, we like to suggest the following:
The band could ask their fans via Internet for their favourite 25 Motorhead songs, which then could result in the setlist for this special tour.

This would give us the chance to vote for some real Motorhead classics. Anyway, here is our noise choice:

1. Motorhead
2. Overkill
3. Stone dead forever
4. Bomber
5. Iron fist
6. I'll be your sister
7. Poison
8. No class
9. City kids
10. Sharpshooter
11. Please don't touch
12. Damage case
13. Too late, too late
14. Stay clean
15. Lawman
16. (I won't) pay your price
17. Leaving here
18. Dead men tell no tales
19. The watcher
20. Limb from limb
21. Vibrator
22. The hammer
23. Shoot you in the back
24. Heart of stone
25. Ace of Spades

And how about having Girlschool as special guests?
Let us all have a real good Motorheadache in 2000,

Hey Ace!

Count me in for two shirts (in XXXXL, although I'm not THAT big, I just like it loose fit). I agree with some of the other members: keep it simple, but high quality. Maybe one new idea: ake the classic snaggletooth, with the MH logo above, and instead of England below, make it Webland. Then the web address on the back. I'm confident you'll do OK.

It's just a sad fact they won't sell millions of this gem, 'cause people need this music, even if they don't know it, and Lemmy deserves all the money in the world.

Dear Ace,

I really can't believe how FANTASTIC the new live album is. Having seen the band in Cambridge in 1997 and then again in 1998, I have wanted to hear this line up on a live album for a long time. And it's happened ! The sound is AWESOME. it is just like YOU ARE THERE. That same "pressure" of sound you feel at a Motorhead gig, that onslaught on the senses, somehow DOES come across. I couldn't believe that it could, but it does, and really does kick some superb ass. This is definitely their best live album. And probably their best album ever.

Congrats again on the mailing list - OS rules. The new record is fantanstic - much better than 'cats' - I'll listen to it again and again!!! I've been waiting a long time to hear a live album with Mickey bang'n away on drums. The classics come through loud and clear... then again the new songs do to. Everything louder than everyone else will prove to be the album that destroys my hearing for good!!!

I've read that folks on the mailing list (and god only knows whom else) are having a hard time find'n motorhead stuff (t-shirts, posters etc). Any chance that the boys would authorize some sort of internet sales deal?? imotorhead.com would be the perfect place to sell anything and everything motorhead. I for one would like to ensure that Lemmy and boys would be able to here in this life be able to purchase maybe one more pair of trousers each. What better way than through merchandise sales??? I'd love to have a snakebite love shirt in the collection!

Continue the great work and put me down for a whole bunch of OS t-shirts!

I just dropped in and here is what I think bout the tee-shirt thing:
ONE: I think you we should have a drawing-contest for all OS-members and then when everybody has sent their drawings to Ace everybody just votes for , what they think, is the best combination of front, back and sleeve.
TWO:A few months ago I bought a Metallica-tee-shirt and that tee-shirt IS wide like a fuckin grizzly, BUT after a few weeks it was too short for me (cause Im a tall Motrheadbanger!). And I DONT want that to happen with the tee-shirt Ace , probably, is gonna fix for us. So get good shirt material and high print quality and we will pay the x-tra bucks for it!
THREE: The design shouldn't be TOO advanced and I think at least one of the too quotes "Born to lose-Live to win" or "All men likes good head, Clinton fell for Monica-head but me myself I'd have Motrhead anyday" (Cant remember the exact wording) should be on there.I think those to sentences are very good n cruel and they put life where I want it, on the edge. And yesterday I was at a record store here in cold Sweden and when I saw "Everything Louder Than Everyone Else" I thought "Cool,I gotta listen to this new stuff." I stood there listening in the store for more than an hour , but still I just have to say: That shit sucked!!"No sleep til Hammersmith" is better than that noise! KEEP ON ROCKIN AND, REMEMBER "SNAKE BITE LOVE" REALLY BITES AND MOT?RHEAD KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ace,

I'm in for a shirt, definitely. But I don't think it should be black; there are already so many black shirts around. My favourite shirt of my MH-shirt collection is a brown-green MH England one. Why not make this shirt 'winebottle-green', like the OS-album? I like the idea of ALL the names, but it's probably impossible. But there should be something 'internet' about. And a Snaggletooth, I like it much better than the Ace of Spades-logo. But whatever it will be, Ill buy it and hope to see some more of them somewhere (Dinxerperloo Ice Thijs?). Like the new album also; it's good to hear some of the new stuff live!
