Motorheadbangers Of The World!

Well, I have listened to Everything Louder now about a hundred times and it just keeps getting better and better every time I hear it! This is going to be the best Motorhead year yet!!

Also, great news! I got my first batch of MOTORHEAD SPEAKS questions answered by Phil! I will try and post them on Sunday as I am heading out to see Motley Crue on Saturday....

Tentative Motorhead Schedule (and I emphasis the TENTATIVE part):

April - May --> Write New Album -(3 wks) (Release End of 1999 or 1st Part of 2000)
May - June --> Tour No. America ( 1 Mo.) (To promote Live Record)
June - July --> Record New Record in Hamburg Germany ( 3-4 Weeks)
June - July --> European Festivals (They will be playing Festivals on weekends & coming back to Record in Hamburg during the weekdays) (6wks)

Almost time to start talking about the sequel to MAKE 'EM DEAF FOREVER! Anyone interested? Let me know!

Hey gang!
The t-shirt idea is great but you all must remember that Ace is probably very busy and now OS members are over a thousand strong. Out of this group it seems to me there ought to be SOMEONE that has close connections with a t-shirt maker........ Come on let's give Ace a hand if we can. Here's my 2 cents on the T Shirt issue:

I think the shirt should be black (duh) with a front pocket. Lets spend the extra bucks and get good quality shirt material.
On the pocket would be snaggletooth (from the Sacrifice CD cover), but replace the skull hanging from the chain with a mouse.

On the back would be, "We are the Web Crew" with the website address on the bottom.

Overall the shirt is very lowkey...this way some of us can get away with the shirt on casual fridays!

To whom it may concern:

I recently heard that Motorhead was going to be on an episode of "Where Are They Now" on VH-1. Although they aren't anywhere but still kickin' ass with music, I want to watch that show. Can you tell me when it is scheduled to be on? I assume it corresponds to the release date of the upcoming album but I could be wrong...

Thanks,

Believe it or not, NO. LSD is the saftest drug, physically. Mentally it can do very strange things, but it's very rare if one doesn't have some preexisting psychological damage.

Argh, no! I don't want to see _that_! And I'm sure Lemmy can do rather better :)

> Hey Ace, how's this for a slogan for the OS T-shirt :
> "If we came to your house, your hard drive would explode!"

I like it! "If we moved in next door to you, your hard drive would crash" would bring it a little closer to the original.
I forget the precise wording.

I can imagine this not being overly popular with some of the female fans ... or maybe not!

My own tuppence: I feel like the phrase "Born to Lose, Live to Win" oughta be on there somewhere. Those six words sum the band up for me. The term "Motornet" has a certain das weiss ich nicht as well :)

Hello all! I'd just like to say I think the whole tshirt idea is great but please can we have a few made up in small for us more lithe, dimunitive blokes!
I have ben told that the t shirt companies don't make them in small anymore as there is no demand. What gets me is you don't ever see any size but XL - not even L - by definition, if that many people really are XL surely that makes them medium if anyone sees what I mean!!

Also I'd like to agree with Bryn Schurman choice of most apt Motorhead quote -
"You know I'm born to lose
and gambling's for fools
but that's the way I like it baby
I don't wanna live forever!"

I love it - best quote from a song ever!!

Anyway, that's it from me

Hi Ace Like the idea of the Tshirt, Could you put me down for 2.....size L (not any bigger as i'm only a small guy) I personally think it would be cool if someone >from the mailing list designs it..... rather than having a previously used logo or bringing in someone like Joe Petagno. It would then be something special to the OS mailing list (and show what a talented bunch of people Motorhead fans are !)

hell-o

something that hasn't been talked about in a while...

i've spotted a new motorhead siting: on the cover of JOHNNY THUNDERS AND THE HEARTBREAKERS "LIVE AT MAX'S KANSAS CITY" the bass player is wearing a motorhead t-shirt. this originally came out in 1979.

i work at bmg distribution in minneapolis and i don't have the new disc yet (we get copies of almost everything in advance, but not this), but i do have few really cool poster with the new disc artwork on it.

i'm looking for a copy of castle's re-issued "ON PAROLE." haven't had any luck finding it here in mpls.

the guy who's looking for a motorhead belt buckle: i saw one about a year ago in a shop called SUNS on hennepin ave (mpls) that was very cool. it was a sculpted snaggletooth, very large and detailed with a $100 price tag. i went back a few weeks later and it was gone, but i did get a great sculpted pewter snaggletooth pin. so, there's one out there somewhere.

first avenue (nightclub, again, mpls) really wants motorhead to play there. i know the head booking agent has made some initial calls to management, but nothing yet as far as dates go. between my job there and bmg, i should be able to find out about mid-west tour dates and will pass them along.

i must say, physcomike's idea for a t-shirt is by far the best i've heard! it combines the simplicity of the other approaches (simplicity is not meant as a bad thing here, i agree that the simple snaggletooth is the best) with a few new ideas, AND it gets OS in there, too. it sounds like a proper shirt for the growing army of the undead. no really, i could wear that shirt with pride. a fucking elite army of dedicated motorheadbangers! right fucking on! imagine going to a show and meeting others wearing a shirt that clearly identifies them as OS-ers! we're the most dedicate fans, from what i've seen, and i think that Lemmy would notice those with an OS emblazoned on their arms, too. my vote goes here!

Subject: drugses

-Personally I Considering all the responses (Overnight Sensation Issue #55) to whatever drug (if any...;-) Lemmy and Motrhead uses and what all Motrhead-bangers should (?) use quite pointless. One (whoever, not even Lemmy!) shouldn not endorse the usage of anything but the thing that makes yourself (in my case alchohol) feel good.
I didn't start the thread to endorse drug use, and i don't think anyone who's replied has said "try this." 'smatter a fact, most have said something to the effect of "this is what *I* do, you do what you want" (I know Lemmy has said things to that effect) I just wanted to hear about people's opinions and experiences combining one of the world's most powerful drugs (That's Motorhead.) with some other mind-altering substances. particularly physcedlics. this is valid because I know many motorheadbangers are also "heads" in the other sense of the word. i mean, "motorhead" was originally a Hawkwind song fer Cow God #4's sake!

>But I do tell my friends who take things like coke and extasy(xtc) that they should try saafer things like marijana and magic mushrooms, which are fun drugs and natural too.

Both (crack)cocain and heroin come from plants - the fact that it's natural doesn't really mean a thing. yes, but pot and shrooms aren't really processed is what he's getting at. cocaine uses gasoline somewhere in the process. either way, pot and shrooms ar alot safer than cocaine and\or heroin. (and, in my opinion, alcohol. but that's a different kettle of fish.)
in the end, we all agree that Motorhead kicks ass, and if some of us want to see if they kick more ass under certain pharmocological circumstances, well, we'll just start moving like a parrallellogram.
anyway, as far as LSD and Motorhead are involved, i listened to Rock 'n' Roll when i was tripping and didn't like it too much. perhaps Bastards, Sacrifice, or one of the earlier albums would be better. i'll probably just stick to hawkwind and Sabbath for my tripping, though. (i've discovered that it's worthwhile to listen to music that you ordinarilly wouldn't when you're tripping. you're more likely to appreciate it, and you may find that your musical horizons have expanded.)
p.s. ace, once again, great job, and thank you so much for operating this forum for us. arg! i need my motorhead! when the bloody hell are they coming to the states again? (proof that motorhead is more addictive than any drug! psst! no one tell the government, they'll ban 'em!)

With All the people sending their posts with their ideas forthe tee shirt I had to send mine. here goes: It should be black, of course with A spider Snaggletooth on a (world wide) Web, The Motorhead logo above it, then below, Overnight Sensation mailing list with the web address on the front. Then on the back, it should have Lemmy done up like Uncle Sam in the Red White And Blue, giving the finger with his left hand and pointing with his right and 'I want you to join' Honestly I dont think we need the names of everybody on there; they wouldn't fit anyway. That's just my two cents, Laters Kelly

Hi everyone on os,
For the person looking for on the road, there is a live version on the remastered orgasmatron album (dont know about the original). I think the t-shirt sounds like a good idea but whatever the design is it should be kept simple (not too many logos and writting) after all thats how motorhead play.
Anyway not much more to say except that I'm still hanging out to hear about a MH Australian tour but i found a live video so thats helped me wait a bit longer.

just joined the list (again), and really liked the idea bout a t-shirt for mo'head/OS!! it should be black as night and with a white silk screen print (no lo-fi photo print - hell, with more than 10 shirts it pays off) of petagnos classic scull up front (white is more "classic" i think :-) .....the spades logo on one shoulder/sleeve and the (member of) "OS" on the other is excellent! but keep it quality - those new motorhead merch t-shirts stinks! (even before ive worn it, hehe) as for belt buckle: why not go for an ammo belt? ;-)

to often - and also during the last 3-4 mo'head concerts i visited - ive experienced low-life behaviour amongst the audience. people who seemingly gets their kicks outta throwing beer on stage - risking not only the band leaving the stage, but also electrocution of the band members and damage on the stage equipment. i really dont know why people do this... any idea anyone? i mean, why the f**k spend money on a concert and act like that? if u see one of those beer-throwers, u know what to do to him. lemmy 'imself is NOT fond of the idea of people throwing things at him. I'M not too fond of people spoiling a concert I'VE spent lots of money on (ive been to 7 or 8 motorhead concerts, and each time ive spent over 200 USd on getting there and the ticket alone!) experiencing my fav band on stage. ive not yet experienced the band actually leaving stage because of some jerk, but that day will come, im sure. lemmy has even written a long piece in some mag over this topic (anyone have a copy of that article? ...its years since i saw it, and i would be MOST grateful to get even a xerox of it). well, heres a snippet from a concert in norway (fall 98), so u can tell what lemmy feels about it. i also got another snippet like that, but couldnt find it right now. go here (its an .mp3, so u should get an .mp3 player)

Can there ever be a greater live album from anybody - ever? I don't think so. And if there is one I will be the first in line to buy it! "Everything louder than everyone else" is the most fantastically great album from Motorhead that I have ever heard (and I have them all, regular releases, that is, +several other "treasures"). Absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much Motorhead, not just for existing but for granting us with such fine music and a reason to live. Ace, I can't thank you enough for making Overnight Sensation available to us. Not only have I made new friends and purchases of Motorhead items, but I have been able to get Motorhead tour information from the subscribers that I would have otherwise missed. Most recently I have to thank Scott for sending me the info on the Motorhead show April 16th in San Francisco. I found out tonight while trying to purchase tickets that the show was canceled and postponed until late April or May sometime. What a heartbreaker. Ace, I see that you were mentioned a couple of times on the liner notes. That's great because you have provided a top notch and valuable service to many of us for our favorite band. Thank you very much.
Jim
P.S. By now Is there any doubt that we MUST have a t-shirt?

How ya doing Hamburg, Seattle, Tokyo or wherever you live? The new album is devasting my ears, i'm feeling wicked now, argh! argh! I thought to hear the songs clearer but that's Motorhead 100% live sound. That's THE live recording! And what about Mikkey? Can he play the drums or what? I say boys and girls! He is definitely the best drummer in the world. MOTORHEAD IS DEFINITELY THE BEST AND LOUDEST BAND IN THE WORLD!!
Four years ago i've seen the band live at the Docks, Hamburg, where the new live album has been recorded. I'm writing this note to introduce my idea on the t-shirt. After that gig i bought a 20th anniversary t-shirt with the "live forever" writing below the ace of spades (on the back). For our t-shirt i suggest the "omne tempore vivi" writing around the skull. I think the Motorhead legend will continue forever and it would be nice to put a writing of a dead language like latin. Crudely translated "omne tempore vivi" means "may you live forever" or "live forever" in any case.
