Well, issue two... a bit of an accomplishment in itself. I am very proud to announce that in the first week of it's life, Overnight Sensation's membership ranks have swollen to more than 70 members! Thanks to every one of you for your support. Now, the only thing that has got to start happening is for all of you to participate in the digest itself.

Obviously the hottest topic of discussion is the tour with WASP that was cancelled. Lots of fans of both bands are disappointed (me included), but I would not have put up with the disrespect anymore then Lemmy did.

The one bad part of the tour cancellation for all of us is the fact that we were going to record Motorhead's set in Vancouver, BC for broadcast in cyberspace. But, there is a solution. It looks like Lemmy is going to lend us a recording of a show earlier in the tour for broadcast. I will keep you all posted on the details, but for now we plan to begin the broadcast on July 28.

Also, many of you write me letters saying that it is difficult for you to find some of the Motorhead releases in your local record stores. Well, I have made arrangements with Music Blvd. to offer their entire catalog of Motorhead titles for sale. The best part (for me) is if you connect to their site via the link below, I get a bit of a commission. This commission will help offset the costs of doing Overnight Sensation itself. So, if you are going to order any Motorhead CDs on-line, go to this URL:
http://www.musicblvd.com/cgi-bin/tw/13781_42_50057

Deadline for the Motorhead Tattoo contest is rapidly approaching. Come on, get those entries in, I promise that EVERY entry will get something really cool!

Last, but not least, I would like to start expanding the FAQ section. If any of you know of ANY Motorhead sites on the web, please send the address to me along with any comments you might have.

Hi Ace and fellow Motorheadbangers! Motorhead just destroyed Chicago, so I thought you might like to hear about it! June 27, Vic Theatre. My wife Ellen and I have known various members and crew of MH since 1981, so it's always like a family reunion when they come to town! They gave us tour laminates when this tour started, ironically in Chicago, and let us use them again this time! The first thing they told us was how unprofessional WASP were. Lemmy said it was the most dis- respect he's been given in 30 years of the music business! I think WASP were just jealous 'cos the crowds were leaving after Motorhead! MH had decided Chicago would be the last show and for that we thank them! Anyways, we partied backstage a bit, then checked out the opening band- Impotent Sea Snakes, who were atrocious! Showtime came and I was in the photo pit centerstage for the first 3 songs. They killed as usual! Afterwards, we partied some more. We missed WASP's entire set. I'm dying to know how bad they were! We said our goodbyes and that was it...or so we thought! The next day, at 7:30 in the freaking morning, guitarist Phil Campbell called us to come party some more and help him pack his bags for the flight home! Sadly, I was at work, but my wife went! She helped both him and Lemmy pack 8 months of crap into two suitcases! Lemmy had 6 BIG bottles of Jack Daniels alone! She must have done a good job 'cos he let her read some of his new lyrics! An honour she won't soon forget! He gave us things that wouldn't fit- videos, t-shirts, and a can of Dinty Moore Beef Stew! Thanks, Lemmy! Hope the JD made it safely!!!

Hi,
I'm Jeff and I love Motorhead. I got into them by buying Orgasmatron for the hell of it. I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me. I didn't go back and buy older albums. I do also have Rock and Roll, March or Die, No sleep at All, No Remorse, Best Of I and II and my personal fav, 1916. I have not heard Bastard, Sacrifice, but have a little of Overnight Sensation and it sounded great. Could someone let me know how the those albums sound compare to others? Thanks and by the way I saw them a couple of weeks ago w/ WASP and they were awesome!!!

Jeff

HI, my name's dave. I got into motorhead way back in '79 when i was but a wee laddie. I was listening to the punk bands that were around at the time, most of the other music was shite i started listening to some rock music (influenced by my sisters then boyfriend) and heard rumours about a band called motorhead, not having heard them yet. Anyway, one boring thursday evening i was watching a load of drivel called top of the pops when all of a sudden i heard this amazing sound,i looked up and there they were,in all there ugly splendour singing! BOMBER. ithought WOW this is what i've been waiting for,so i got the single, the b sisde being equally as good and played it to death. Being only 13 at the time money was hard to come by so i had to get any records for my birthday, xmas, etc so i had to wait a while until i could get any more 'HEAD. The next opus i got was the golden years ep,by then i was hooked,i spent the next few!(i'm still collecting) years buying what i could,i've managed to get my hands on some good stuff,BUY 9,leaving here/w,l, fever on skydog, loads of coloured vinyl.anyone wants a list of what i've got can mail me,i might take a while to reply but i'll get there. I first got to see them in 82 on the iron fist tour,i can remember the biggest pa i'd ever seen and they where LOUD,after eddie left i got to see his new band and got to meet him. not long afterwards i got to see motorhead again with twisted sister,i've since seen motorhead about 10 ish times.it couls have been more but i had other commitments or no dosh at the time. i got to meet them back in 83,Lemmy was great,i can remember askig him what one of his tattoos was,he said i'ts a tatto you dickhaed and hit me over the head with a rolled up program. robbo was pissed and holding the biggest glass og brandy i've ever seen phil was just phil i managed to meet wurzel a couple of times and he seemed like an ok bloke i've managed to get most of their tour programs up to another perfect day which i got autographed ive also got loads of press cuttings from years ago ,if your interested in them i'll try and get you copies. well here's to the greatest rock band in the world, long may they prosper and annoy people hope the mailing list is a success

cheerz
Dave
