Dear Michael, Is it really fair to blame the whole thing on the cleaning ladies?? Most adults are, I think, aware that pschedelics ought not to be consumed while driving. And one should definitely NOT attempt to go shopping. Moral of the story: Mushrooms are best enjoyed in one's own home, with the music selected and organized ahead of time (luckily your friend DID have Motorhead music in his vehicle, if nothing else). NOT while driving around! NOT while going shopping! Okay?! Naughty cleaning ladies, for telling him it would be o.k. But, perhaps he should have known better. Educate oneself before ingesting things... Anyway, thanks again for sharing your great stories, I always enjoy them.

Dear fellow Motorheadbangers, Subsequent to my previous sad story in which I had given my copy of Hammered to my ex, I did in fact finally obtain one for myself, thank God! My 9-year-old ("going on 20") godchild, Dana, was visiting me when the CD arrived. We were going that day to our favorite surf spot, where the waves roll in nicely right in front of a great restaurant, where I can drink rum drinks, and Dana virgin pina coladas and other fruity iced drinks, while surfing, then we go in for dinner. The place usually plays "oldies" music, which if you are lucky, means Hendrix, Cream, Zep, etc. Or maybe James Brown type soul music. BUT, on a bad day, you have to listen to stuff like, "Sherree, Sherry Baby, Bay-ay-bee..." and other silliness. Dana had a pained expression on her face and asked me, "What IS this music?! I don't like it. When we get home, can we PLEASE listen to the new Motorhead CD?!!" Great idea, kid! So we did. The first few songs sounded kind of, u! m, slow or mellow or something. Dana looked puzzled and asked me, "Do you think we should turn it UP, or what?!" YES! ALWAYS TURN IT UP!! Good girl! She said the first part of the CD did not sound like the Motorhead that she was familiar with, and we both enjoyed the second half more for some reason. Then, after that, although it was already past her bed time, Dana begged me to play Snake Bite Love (my personal favorite), so I let her stay up to listen to it. Got to start the kiddies off right, you know! Her father is a big Motorhead fan; her mother hates them (and all metal, the poor deluded woman), but we are working on her. Anyway, rock on, friends.

hi all !

I'm a french fan of Motrhead (that's why I don't speak english very well, sorry about that) and I must admit I'm disappointed these last years.
I love Bastards (even if there's a few boring tracks) , Sacrifice, Overnights sensations and Snake bite love. These albums have great songs and a lot of inspiration. Everytime, MH tried to do something a bit different on each album.
But since We are Motrhead, all that inspiration lost, and the band begins to write "easy songs" without surprises. We are MH isn't a good album for me, there's some kicking ass songs (We are MH, Stay out of jail, Wake the dead) but also some tracks that suck (Out to lunch, Crash & burn) with uninspired riffs.

Hammered is a normal album, good but not great. There isn't great tracks but there isn't bad tracks either. I just hope that MH will find a new creative way in the future in his albums.

I agree with you about the whole "hooligans" and the Motorhead shows. The last two Motorhead shows I attended at San Francisco's Maritime Hall resulted in two of my friend being badly beaten by large groups of these so-called fans... these people are known for attending shows and pulling these same acts. One of my friends even had to have reconstructive facial surgery because of one of these incidents. My friend had accidentally bumped into one of these assholes (had nothing to do with a 'mosh pit' or anything) and ended up leaving the show a whole hour early, on a stretcher. My other friend, who was not hurt as badly, got jumped because he was trying to help someone out of the pit who had fallen (and that happened to be black). Both my friends were simply trying to enjoy the show, and thanks to jerks like those, everyone's good time was ruined.

Subject: lemmy's statement about the salt lake city show

This is in response to the info in Overnight Sensation #142.

First off I would like to say to all members of this mailing list that Motorhead is a great band. I saw them recently in Denver and they were all very nice and I got all their autographs. A special thanks goes out to Lemmy, Mikey Dee, and Phil. You guys are great!

Second of all I think that people must realize that being a major international rock band is a BUSINESS. Sometimes things happen that people just don't like or conditions exist such that one just can't make things work. When I was in Omaha, Marilyn Manson canceled a show, but I got the oppurtunity to see the band again in the future. I think that there are a lot of fans who don't realize the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to make things happen. Be thankful that we live in a free country. It's too easy to complain.

"Please don't judge me and my band until you've heard what DID happen. The venue rep told you we would not play 'cos it might rain? Think for a moment - have you EVER heard of us cancelling because of the weather - never happen, never has. The reason we cancelled was because we couldn't do a good show with the rubbish the gig supplied for us to work with and because the indoor place was too small, in OUR opinion. I'm sorry, we did let you down in one way, but not in another - we deserve your trust on this - I hate doing bad shows and I am proud to say that we have NEVER let you down. I will play Salt Lake City with pleasure, as we have before. Also, why would we cancel and lose the money when we were already there?! Don't sound realistic to me.

If we can find a good venue to play in Salt Lake City, we'll come back and do a GOOD show. But not a bad one. The promoter shouldn't have let the others play - was our name will on the marquee? He should have given you your money back.

OK, that;s it, but after 34 years on the road it sort of hurts me when people immediately accept the story that is against us. Find out both sides, then you can judge, OK?

Hey Johnny,

so you were the one with the beer ? :-) I of course was there too (fortunately, I live in Langenhagen), only three meters away from you, and I can only agree, Motorhead played fucking great! I went to see the guys acoupleof days later again, when they rocked Oberhausen/Germany. The show was the same as in Langenhagen, so it is just a proof that Motorhead didn't just lay some songs down in Langenhagen and put a lazy show on. I even think there were only 150 peoples in the audience. Coolest band ever!

Hi Ace, one more thing: in the German newspapers the next days aqfter the a.m. concert, there was a complaint of one of the organizers, he said that Lemmy called him up the night before the concert. Lemmy complained about his hotel room that didn't had air condition (which, by the way, was totally unnecessary due to the lousy weather that day). The guy had to pick the band up at their hotel in the middle of the night, drive them around town until they finally found a room with AC (which must have taken a while; hey, after all it's Hannover, not Berlin!). But the band didn't go there; instead, they gambled at the local casino until 6am. The guy seemed to be very pissed about it. He said, that the band acted really rock star like and arrogant. Well, I can't judge it, can we get a comment from the band on that?

So is there a chance to check out online your photos from the event?
Let us know!

Subject: OS: Some Stupid Shit

I finally have been receiveing OS again after missing a few issues. I kept re-signing up and nothing happened. I thought that maybe Ace Trump had finally kicked me off of the list permanently because maybe he had grown tired of all the crazy shit that I say, or that he got offeneded by all the bad fuckin' language that I fuckin' tend to use, or that he had grown weary of me sticking in plugs for my website http://www.themastersunderground.com every so often, or that he had been paid a visit by the FBI who told him that guests in America should not give opportunities to known criminals and radicals to express their views because then said guests would face incarceration and/or deportation. But I used a whole new address that I had never used before, and it worked and I am getting OS again, so I know that it was nothing personal. One dude in the last issue said that he heard that in America, that rock concerts are off-limits to the young. Well, not all concerts are, but a lot are, and that number is growing. See America is a country that will not sign a treaty pledging not to execute juveniles, it says that it reserves the right to do that. So, instead, they make sure that the youth of America are kept away from the likes of Motorhead, so that way their impressionable minds will not get wrecked by the horrors that Motorhead can inflict on the youth of today. That way, the youth stay on the straight and narrow, and America does not have to execute them for anything, so these tactics are why that treaty will not be signed by the USA, they use preventive medicine instead. That is why things are that way in the USA.
I was looking at this stupid fuckin' site the other day ( no, not my own site), this Groupie Central thing http://www.groupiecentral.com They have all this dumb motherfuckin' bullshit from these mindless bitches that are likie porfessional groupies and shit. They have a section with alll this gossip and shit there, where they talk about all these rock stars and how they are in bed and what they are into, blah, blah, fuckin' blah. Lemmy's mentioned in there, and they have nothing good to say about him. Some dumb fuckin' bitch tells a story about meeting him at the Rainbow Bar and going back to his place and shit. She says that he was 'pathetic' amongst other things . It does not even sound true. It is disgusting. Dumb fuckin' bitch was probably on some fuckin' heroin anyhow. Alright, it is 4 AM, and I am gonna turn the fuckin' computer off for the night now.

I just won Larry Wallis' new cd, "Death In The Guitarfternoon", in one of Ace's contests. (I don't remember entering, but many thanks, Ace!) Anyway, I really like this cd A LOT! It doesn't sound anything like Motorhead, but it DOES sound a lot like The Damned, Blue Oyster Cult, Dick Dale(!), The Cult (who I don't even like!), and occasionally, Monster Magnet and Hawkwind! Wallis has a very clean EAR DRUM-PIERCING Strat tone and smooth wah pedal, ala Fast Eddie.
His vocals are Jack n' smoke raspy, just short of Captain Beefheart and Shel Silverstein! Great lyrics, ala Lemmy. I really recommend it. The first time I listened to it was about 1:00 o'clock in the morning on 100 mile trip back from the recent Grateful Dead reunion and it made the trek GREAT! Literally not a bad song on it! Also, there's a great story on him in the June 14th issue of Goldmine. If I find a link, I'll post it. It's a good read.

to this day 11.8.02 the MOTORHEAD Yahoo! Group isnt working anymore. I invite you all to join the other Yahoo! Group called Killed By Motorhead:

PULA, Croatia, bikerdays 27.7.02 - Hammerd World Tour

I had an appointment with my friend Miki at the airport of Milan, then we drove eight hours east until Pula. Driving from Slovenia nearly to Pula we have covered the most dangerous road that we have ever seen. We have seen plenty of crosses and flowers everywhere and in one hour time we have seen three cars going off road.

We have arrived at the Bikerdays at 4:30 and have noticed the disorder around. Especially too many people backstage, it was full of Hells Angels with baseball maces, something ridicule. Unfortunately the band have arrived only at 10:30 and the concert begun at half past midnight and (with much delay). We have tried to meet the band but we were told that they were a lot tires, probably were still recovering from the show in Belgrade (the day before).

Lemmy got on stage with black shoes, it was the first time I saw him like this. Mikkey played with a new drum kit, deep electric blue in color. Former Yugoslavia suffered the bad times that all we know and
Motorhead didnt have the chance to tour. The last show was in Moskajnci (Slovenia) three years ago but the fans in Croatia and Serbia/Montenegro had to wait for much more, twelve years. Lemmy announces the concert: Its a long time since weve been to Croatia, but here we are! We Are Motorhead and were gonna kick your ass!.

Set list:
We Are Motorhead
No Class
Civil War
Damage Case
Love For Sale
God Save The Queen
Brave New World
Nothing Up My Sleeve
Doctor Rock
Shoot You In The Back
Sacrifice plus drum solo
Going To Brazil
Killed By Death
Iron Fist
Ace Of Spades

The concert has been a success, seems that they improve with passing of time, like the wine. They seemed more aggressive than usual toward their instruments. I think that has been the better concert I have attended. The crowd was OK (approximately 12000 people) and I have been allowed to see the whole show downstage.

After the concert nobody is successful to meet Mikkey, as soon as he goes off stage goes to the hotel to have a rest. Me and Miki asked kindly to meet Phil but they told us that he kindly answered fuck off (!). But ten seconds later Freddie told us he was jocking and that we could enter. But the chat has been short, even Phil was tired and in two minutes run away. We had better luck later because Lemmy, it was almost 3:00, has returned. We sat at this table with him approximately 15 minutes but time seemed to fly away. Lemmy is aabsolutely unforeseeable, pleasant and rich in spirit (no, I am not referring to the Jack Daniels that he was drinking all the time). Most of my interest in meeting him was for having the chance to observe him, his carisma is exceptional, only his presence was sufficient to fill the room. If someone would ask me what is rocknroll I would answer that rocknroll is Lemmy.
We have spoken about various things until I made him a special question: do you have a song which you consider your masterpiece. I did this question as quiz on two Yahoo! clubs, thanks for your e-mails guys. Many of you answered Orgasmatron but none of you guessed right. Here I write what he answered to me (sorry for any mistake):
Maybe you wont believe me but I think is March Or Die, the lyric in particular appeals me a lot.

Time to go, we were very tired but happy. Arrivederci see you again soon!

Hi Ace,
my name is Alejandro Molina, and I am a 27 years old motorheadbanger from miami FL. The reason for this email is to ask you a curious question about the American release of the "25 & Alive Boneshaker" DVD that was released in america the last week september 03. I did buy it from amazon.com and already have it in my hands, I have seen the bonus footage of phil & Lemmy playing "aint no nice guy" and some other features in the "rogue gallery " area of the dvd, but I have seen that it is listed that the dvd features 4 Songs at the Wacken Open Air festival from last year but I cannot locate them in the dvd menus.Does this features really come in the american release or it is an error of spvusa posting that feature on the back of the dvd box?

Also I think that maybe this songs are the ones that come as bonus with the limited edition "hammered" CD that were recorded at wacken too.

Thanks for your time!
