Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

NEW ALBUM - HAMMERED!

The album is finished and he band has decided to call it "HAMMERED". It will be released in Europe on April 8 and in North America on April 9.

The new album has some really AWESOME new Motorhead offerings. My current favorites (I have listened to the CD about 50 times by now) are: Shut Your Mouth, Walk A Crooked Mile (has some of the most soulful guitar playing Phil has ever recorded) and Voices From The War (some of Lemmy's best lyrics in a long time).

Joe is doing the cover - and it is bound to be a classic. I have seen some of the mockups and it's looking great!

There is also a discussion that was going on through the Yahoo Motorhead group that resulted in me posting a bit of an explaination. I felt that this explaination (slightly edited to remove yahoo only info) needed to be said here as well:

Here is the problem... since I run the "official" site, anything I post is taken as gospel. That is why I do not post anything until it is official.

The reality is that the North American release of the DVD does not (as of yet) have a release date. If it did, I would post it. I post "coming soon" because it is my job to let the world know that the project is in the works... but I do not know when it come out.

As far as the new album goes... well, I have had it for about 3 weeks now. The track listing that was posted here is the order that my CD (a CDR) is in, but I was also told that the song titles may change and that the running order may change. Hence the reason that I cannot post this info until the band finalizes things.

That is the luxury of other sites... they get some info and can post it without any fear of reprisal. I do not have that luxury.

I try to get the "real" info to fans through the website as fast as I can. But the further reality is that I always seem to be the last to know. I cannot tell you how many times I have read info about Motorhead on other websites, subsequently checked it out with the management to verify only to find out that it is indeed fact. The European label (SPV) has never once sent me ANY info about their releases, info, ANYTHING. I have tried and tried to get them to do so with no result. The US label is the same way.

Believe me, I find it as frustrating as you. Once I got the new CD, my first questions were: What is the cover art? What are the songs called? When does it come out? Does it have a title yet? At that point I am told some information. My next question is "can I post that info on the website?". And then I am told what I can and cannot post - in other words, what is and isn't carved in stone.

Whew... well, I hope this goes a small distance to describing the two edged dilemma that I am faced with. Comments that I often get are "why does the official site not have this piece of info or that piece of info" tend to piss me off... but I understand the frustration you all feel. Anyway, just wanted to let you in on the "whys" and "what fors".

PROBOT

Here is some news according to
http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/:

PROBOT Collaboration With MOTORHEAD's Lemmy Available For Download -
Jan. 31, 2002

PROBOT, the much-anticipated metal side project of former NIRVANA drummer and current FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl, have made available for download an MP3 of the song "Shake Your Blood", featuring MOTORHEAD mainman Lemmy on lead vocals. The track-which bears more than just a passing resemblance to classic MOTORHEAD-comes off the group's forthcoming as-yet-untitled full-length CD, which is tentatively due to be released through an as-yet-undetermined label later in the year.

"Shake Your Blood" was recorded during December 2001 and is one of the last cuts to be completed for the above-mentioned CD, which has been in the works for much of the last year and a half. Shortly after the cut was laid down, Grohl posted a "diary" entry via the FOO FIGHTERS official web site at http://www.foofighters.com in which he referred to Lemmy as "the coolest person I've ever recorded with in my entire life?He is God. He is the reason. He is the last man standing and no one even comes close. That guy is a true rock 'n' roller. Everyone else is just trying. I can't even begin to explain how f.cking life-altering a day in the studio with Lemmy really is. He walks in, kicks the sh.t out of a song and then he's gone? like the goddamned Lone Ranger."

As previously reported, PROBOT's upcoming CD will include a dozen-or-so tracks featuring some of metal's most celebrated and respected vocalists, including Lemmy, Cronos (VENOM), King Diamond (MERCYFUL FATE/KING DIAMOND), Tom G. Fischer (ex-CELTIC FROST), Snake (VOIVOD), Eric Wagner (TROUBLE), Tom Araya (SLAYER), Max Cavalera (SOULFLY), Mike Dean (C.O.C.), Wino (ex-THE OBSESSED) and Lee Dorrian (CATHEDRAL). Among the tracks that are set to appear on the effort are the following:

01. Dictatorsaurus (feat. Snake)
02. Centuries Of Sin (feat. Cronos)
03. Access Babylon (feat. Mike Dean)
04. Sweet Dreams (feat. King Diamond)
05. Ice Cold Man (feat. Lee Dorrian)
06. My Tortured Soul (feat. Eric Wagner)
07. Big Sky (feat. Tom G. Fischer)
08. Emerald Lies (feat. Wino)
09. Shake Your Blood (feat. Lemmy)

BONESHAKER

A lot of you have been emailing me regarding the DVD. Here is an update: It is out in Europe on the SPV label. At present, there is no US release scheduled - but fear not. It will be released here as soon as they make a deal to release it in the US. SPV were kind enough to send me one of the DVDs which I enjoyed watching. It brought back a lot of memories. I found the menues and interface a little confusing to use, but I guess it is a small price to pay in order to get to see the DVD.

For those of you in parts of the world other then Europe, the only hope you have at this very moment is to buy a European import. But, I am told that it will be released here soon. So, either pay the big bucks or be patient.

MOTORHEADSHOP

Some major improvements have occured in the order filling process from the Motorheadshop over the past several months. Orders are now usually shipped within 1-3 days of receiving the order. Thanks to all of you that have supported the site in the past by buying merchandise. Your efforts really do make a difference.

I have a brand new "Snaggletooth" necklace that is now available exclusively through the website. Check it out!

I have a new item that will be added to the Motorheadshop soon. I have taken the now famous "Bastards" album cover and put it on a t-shirt. I must say, I think it is the coolest Motorhead t-shirt I have seen yet! As a presale special, any OS member that buys the shirt before the end of February will get a free Motorhead sticker set as a bonus. Make sure that you list the free sticker set in your order, otherwise you will not get it.

I have the shirt in Med, L, XL, XXL, XXXL and XXXXL. The prices are as follows:

Medium, Large and XLarge are $25 each plus shipping & handling.
XXL are $28 each plus shipping & handling.
XXXL are $35 each plus shipping & handling.
XXXXL are $38 each plus shipping & handling.

Go to the Motorheadshop at http://www.imotorhead.com and click on the "Classic Motorhead England" shirt for details on ordering and shipping. The info there is the same as it will be on the Bastards shirt.

Have an awesome week!

I dont understand why it is getting an official US release though - IT IS FUCKING AWESOME.
Just in case im not making myself clear

Buy it - If you need to sell your children, sell them. If you need to leave your wife, leave here. You must own this at all costs....

I guess I was just lucky, here in the USA, because I was able to get a copy of Bastards the day it was released...many long years ago, it seems. Fantastic album, but I can't listen to Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me...it makes me too angry. I also can't wait to see the new T-shirt, since my Bastards tour shirt is pretty worn...great snaggletooth design.
Also (1916 stuff here), what exactly does "Nemo Malus Felix" mean?
Keep up the good work, Ace! I always look forward to the next issue. Even though I am a culprit, I agree...no more political shit...

Hi everybody,
i've just read the latest issue of the OS News and the one and only topic is Boneshaker. So let me say: it's really great, apart from the box-description and it's real contest (4 instead of 6 Wacken tracks etc ). But I'm wondering why no one mentioned the hidden features on the DVD. I think of Brixton rehearsals (Ace mentioned in OS News), "I'aint no nice guy" outtakes or some interview and studio session (with the Grandmaster Ace Trump). So if you want to know e-mail me and i try to get you to it.

Hello Ace and all the Motorheadbangers out there. This is John The Watcher in Prague! Well, I don't have a DVD player just yet, so I haven't obtained the Boneshaker disc yet either. However, during this past holiday season my lovely wife gave me the newly released Expanded 2 cd edition of NStHS.

In case anyone is wondering about this item, my opinion is that it goddam rocks and is well worth getting. The first cd is the standard NStHS recording, but with different bonus tracks than the remastered re-issue of 1996 - including The Chase is Better..., Fire Fire, and Over the Top. So, this new version and the previously released remastered version complement each other nicely because of the entirely different bonus tracks. The second cd is an entire alternate recording, and is also fun and interesting to listen to. You'll see!

Well, with Motorhead only coming around every few years, the premium placed on live recordings is understandable. Honestly, I would favor more live recordings of the current line-up, and the existence of th Boneshaker dvd definitely provides all the impetus I need toward saving up for a dvd player. Plus I can't wait for the forthcoming studio album!

Keep on rockin!
-John "The Watcher"

OS: Boneshaker fo Aussie Motorheadbangers.

I read the latest OS and read all the contoversy surrounding people's inability to attain the mighty Boneshaker.People in Europe will get it and given time so will those in America. My question is will Boneshaker (ever) be released with Australian DVD player compatibility (Zone 4) or will i have to get a European version and either hope my DVD player can play it or get it converted?

Help!

Other than that keep up the fine work and give my regards to Lem, Phil and Mikkey. Oh and keep us posted on the new album, as i am drooling with anticipation.

It didn't work at all, i'going mad. Here my question: Do you have to press the "Play/Enter" once and hold it during the first ten seconds, or do you have to press it several times until it starts ? Please help me if you can, it's the last secret, please send me Enlightment thanx & greetings from Germany

I don't even see Motorhead videos. Well I see most of you have emptied your bank accounts on your new progressive-scan DVD players, large-screen projection TV's, DTS 6.1 suround-sound amplifiers, high grade speakers, etc, especially so you can watch the Boneshaker DVD in all it's glory. Connect up a subwoofer, crank up that volume, and try to kill all the grass in your neighbourhood! And if anyone knows the telephone number of that girl dancing in the menu screens, please email it to me. :)

In answer to Oliver Breuleux's questions:

> 1?/ On the box this excellent DVD say : 6 songs from the Wacken Open
> Air 2001, i find only 4 on the DVD. Are the 2 others bonus??

The DVD box was printed before it was fully decided what will end up on the disk. This sometimes happens, after they do the artwork and printed all the labels, they change their minds afterwards. Same with the "Best Of Motorhead" 25 years CD, the inner booklet highlighted some somes "in the CD" but they weren't in it. It's all due to reasons of space, legal issues of people involved in the footage, etc.

> 2?/ Whos is the girl with white dress on the track Born To Raise Hell
> at Wacken???

Nina C. Alice, lead vocalist from Skew Siskin, which is one of Lemmy's favourite bands. Check 'em out on: http://www.skewsiskin.com and you should follow Lemmy and become fan of theirs too!

> 3?/ In heard that the show of Metallia (The Lemies) have to appear on
> this CD, any news?? is it a bonus to???

It's in the "From The Archives" doumentary, only a small clip of it and mainly a monitoring-screen view. Probably due to Metallica having more rights to the footage than Lemmy does, because they were the major performers for that set, so restrictions had to apply when including any footage on Motorhead's DVD. Perhaps it will be released in full but as a Metallica release, not Motorhead's.

With regards to the debate about sound quality, the DVD is certainly clearer than "Everything Louder..." live CD because it's in Dolby Digital (as long as you run it thro' a DD decoder), Lemmy's vocals are as clear as a bell, you can really hear every letter of every word he says - but I found the instrumentals are not loud enough as the "Everything..." CD. On the DVD, the only bone-shaking bass we really get throughout is from Mikkey's drumming. I suppose turning the centre speaker level down below normal and bringing up the main speakers' volume will bring Lemmy's and Phil's instruments in level with Mikkey's.....so long as you remember to revert to your old settings afterwards! But I found that a very minor issue, all depends on how fussy your ears are!

And what happened to the cool sirens and explosion effects when "Bomber" starts? They edited that bit out. :-( But that's my only gripe about the entire disk, and everything else certainly made me forget about that omission.

A great DVD that every fan (and non-fan) should be have in their collection. Definately something that you'll be proud to your neghbours complaining about. And be warned, Mikkey's drumming will shake your house down to it's foundations!

Happy Motorheadbanging,

Sarmad.

Anybody--
Some years ago I ran across a motorhead (I suppose) album, copyrighted 1976-ish entitled "Play It Loud- the Best of Motorhead". The production style was nothing like that of Motorhead or Hawkwind (it sounded almost like the Beatles), and I suspect it wasn't Motorhead at all. The play list contains these songs: Leaving Here, Lost Johnny, Vibrator, City Kids, Fools, The Watcher, Iron Horse, and maybe one more. The question, adressed to anyone who knows, is 'Do you know anything about such an album? Mind filling me in?'

I have seen sacrifice video two times in DVD, i don now why, i suppose its a easter eggs o whatever is its name...
In spain no problem buying dvd, i bought it 20 december in one little and familiar music shop, and more cheap than i supposed...
Its certain the sound is worse than everything louder, but well, the image lets yo forget the sound, and there is always a solution for the sound, play it louder!

Las OS there was someone calling for the Birdthay with metallica on the whiskey a gogo, i ve got in CD, i bought in a music shop, i think its a bootleg but have quality sound, the set list is big, and metallica plays a lot of songs like: overkil, damage case, stone deaf forever, too late too late, the chase is better... we are the road crew (from this song there is a little partial window video in the DVD), overkill (reprises with lemmy) and then motorhead setlist...really cool the reference of the cd is: jaja it dont have no reference... but its called:
THE LEMMY'S A.K.A METALLICA, HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE ROTTER

it has only a little serial number: 205095, nothing else...

Ace, please, tell lemmy about the big community motorhead fans here in spain, god food and good wine, to try convince lemmy to play some shows here on next world tour...

Rock n roll is the only religion and never let you go...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
