Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

Well, the holidays have now come and gone. Lemmy's birthday on Dec 24th proved that he is still alive and kicking and rockin' harder than ever!

The album is complete and in the process of getting manufactured.

I am told that the album should see the light of day in March or April 2002. I expect to have an advance copy this week. So, I will give you a full report in the next issue of OS. As far as I know, it does not have a name yet. But, here is one interesting piece of trivia... on New Year's Eve, I was in Las Vegas for the Guns & Roses shows at the Hard Rock. Chuck, the fellow that was recording the new Motorhead album (and also did the Gnr Live Ero record) was there. He told me that Dizzy (GnR's keyboard player) actually played on one of the tracks of the new Motorhead album.

I am also told that Joe has finished the artwork for the new album cover. As soon as I get it I will post it.

A lot of you have been emailing me regarding the DVD. Here is an update: It is out in Europe on the SPV label. At present, there is no US release scheduled - but fear not. It will be released here as soon as they make a deal to release it in the US. SPV were kind enough to send me one of the DVDs which I enjoyed watching. It brought back a lot of memories. I found the menues and interface a little confusing to use, but I guess it is a small price to pay in order to get to see the DVD.
For those of you in parts of the world other then Europe, the only hope you have at this very moment is to buy a European import. But, I am told that it will be released here soon. So, either pay the big bucks or be patient.

Some major improvements have occured in the order filling process from the Motorheadshop over the past several months. Orders are now usually shipped within 1-3 days of receiving the order. Thanks to all of you that have supported the site in the past by buying merchandise. Your efforts really do make a difference.

I have a new item that will be added to the Motorheadshop this week. I have taken the now famous "Bastards" album cover and put it on a t-shirt. I must say, I think it is the coolest Motorhead t-shirt I have seen yet! As a presale special, any OS member that buys the shirt before the end of February will get a free Motorhead sticker set as a bonus. Make sure that you list the free sticker set in your order, otherwise you will not get it.

I have the shirt in Med, L, XL, XXL, XXXL and XXXXL. The prices are
as follows:

Medium, Large and XLarge are $25 each plus shipping & handling.
XXL are $28 each plus shipping & handling.
XXXL are $35 each plus shipping & handling.
XXXXL are $38 each plus shipping & handling.

Go to the Motorheadshop at http://www.imotorhead.com and click on the "Classic Motorhead England" shirt for details on ordering and shipping. The info there is the same as it will be on the Bastards shirt.

I have to send out a rare kudos to a site that I have been following now for about a year. For those of you that do not know, the site http://www.metal-sludge.com/ is one of the most irreverant, nasty and, above all, hilariously funny website about metal that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I cannot recommend this site highly enough - check it out yourself and enjoy!

Here is a interesting note... I was driving home from work on friday on the 405S. For those of you that do not know LA, the 405 is a ten lane wide parking lot :-). Anyway, there I am listening to my ROCK N' ROLL cd when this red chevy pickup comes up next to me. The back window has a HUGE Motorhead logo across it. The license playe is "I METAL" and then a heart drawn in between the words. Who ever you are, just wanted you to know I thought that was pretty cool. I hope you are an OS member!

Have an awesome week!

First off, thank you Ace for the wonderful Tour Thru Time experience! This is a very cool bootleg that everyone should listen to, especially considering that 9 of the 10 songs played are no longer part of Motorhead's set. Here is the set list

1. Fist
2. Heart of Stone
3. Turn You Round Again
4. Shoot you in the Back
5. Iron Horse
6. Nadine (dedicated to the support band "Killer")
7. America
8. I got mine
9. Hoochie Coochie Man
10. Don't Need Religion

Favorites being Nadine (I'd never even heard of this song before) and America (a personal favorite of mine). For those of you attempting to pinpoint the date of the show, Lemmy does state that this is the only date on this tour in Switzerland.

For all of you in possession of Boneshaker, please provide a thorough review of the DVD, so we Americans can get a idea of what we're missing.

Hi Ace, just wanted to let you know that I've got the DVD, and it's a 2 disc set, one being the dvd and one audio. I agree with Mikkey about the sound mix though, it's not as good as the 'Everything Louder...' live album, but the overall content is great, with promo videos and interviews etc etc. Well worth putting on the Xmas list!

First of all, having received this list for a while now I'd like to express how enjoyable it always is.

Secondly, Boneshaker is fantastic :)

Finally, does anyone know where I could buy quality Motorhead badges? Specifically '3d' skulls. I've tried searching the web, but either they are hard to find or I have been unusually inept with my use of search engines!

I bought the Boneshaker DVD. And I must agree with Mikkey Dee. The video's are great but the sound is rather bad, what were the soundproducers doing? Drinking the night away? However, I'm rather satisfied with it anyway so for all of you who hasn't got it yet; go get it.

Subject: os dvd available in canada?? tour in canada?? & other shit

Hi Ace- Wondering if the DVD will be available through the OS website, the official website/ and or in stores, in Canada/ US anytime soon?? Also great to hear about a new album, is there a tour pending and where, they seem to spend a lot of time in Europe and we miss them in the cold white north. Found what I would believe to be a very rare gem, wondering if anyone has any other background about it, a 12 inch picture disk of Motorhead and Ice- T and Whitefield Crane " Born to Raise Hell" from airheads. 3 versions circa 1994 on arista from the he original sound track, no mention of ho many copies were made, just curious, very nice photo of Lemmy, too. Went to see Ice -T and body count in Montreal 1991-2? something like that and he was amazing, told all the rappers in the crowd who didn't like Lemmy, Rollins and the Butthole Surfers to fucking leave, caused a bit of a riot, but was really nice thing to hear. Also when is the Ramones tribute album coming out and on what label? Thanks to the person(s) who listed off all the films Lemmy was in, there were a few I was unaware of. Who cares what the goddamn queen thinks she's a selfish old senile imp and being Canadian, I wish they'd get her ugly face off our worthless money! As for the punk covers Motorhead has done, the Sex Pistols are a , in my opinion, after 16 years in the scene an embarrassment. I was a little astonished and rather appalled to see them play "God Save the Queen" sentiment understood and all, but really to me the punk gods of that era were the Damned,The Clash, Stiff Little fingers, The NY Dolls, Ramones, etc, not the Sex Pistols, They were whacked on smack couldn't play to save their souls and had very little intelligent to say versus many other bands. They weren't even funny, or crass enough to be worthwhile. Anyway, I think that's really the only bad thing Motrhead released, although I have to say I am partial to the oldest of the old and the more hard-core stuff, like Sex and Death, Sacrifice etc.. Anyway, if you have more inf., please do tell. As for Tattoos of Motorhead, I'm on the website too, Tattoo Nat of Totem and Tattoo in Montreal did mine, , the Overkill album and after a grueling 7 hrs, it's my pride and joy, she's amazing and a huge Motorhead fan, too.

**Ace: Ernie C from Body Count was hanging out with us at the GnR show on New Years. He says that Body Count are currently recording a new album - FYI.

Yes I do think that it is true that the appearance of HHH on the latest Motorhead release is a promotional thing.. But why is that bad? People need to realize that the reason that Motorhead is affiliated with that HHH dude anyway is because he wanted them to be. He was not "assigned" Motorhead like others get assigned tunes in the WWF. He brought them in himself because of his position as one of the top wrestlers in the company, and also the guy that is fucking Vince Mc Mahon's only daughter. So he can pretty much get what he wants in that company, and he wanted Motorhead. Why is that bad? Vince Mc Mahon has no fuckin' idea of who Motorhead is. To him, they are just some long haired loud rock band that HHH likes a lot, and having them around keeps HHH happy, so he gets them. He also gets Vince's daughter too, so he kind of has it made. The fact is that this wil probably be the biggest selling Motorhead release in America, because the WWF will go out and promote it in ways that the likes of MTV and VH-1 and the radio never would in the 21 years since Motorhead first got shit released here. I think that is way the fuck cool. After all, this is not England, where they are considered a"classic rock" band. They have been scorned big time in the USA for 21 years. So I am looking forward to it. I hope the release is as good as Ace is saying that it is. HHH can take Motorhead into the mainstream of America, and no one has ever been able to do that before, so he is fuickin' cool as far as i am concerned.
Now, as far as writing about the current state of world affairs goes. I have stated twice, and I will state it again for the third time, that I do not wish to talk about that shit in this forum. I am the last person that needs to do that, for I have more than ample forums to do that in many other places. However, if someone insists on using this forum to send hate mail to me, them I am not going to fuckin' ignore it, no one else on here would do that. I have a return e-mail address that accompanies every post that I send in, and I also have a website that has 5 more addresses that you can write me at. So I am not exactly hiding here. Yes I do skate on the edge, and that is deemed calamitous dissolution in America 2001/2002. So if anyone wants to send me hate mail, take a number and get in the line (queue) and join the crowd and send it to me, not to this list. Trust me, I shall see it. I get way more fuckin' e-mails than this list does, and they come in all types, sizes and colors. So I am not playing hard to find. You want to hate me, just keep it betwen you and I. The rest of the people on this list are innocents that do not need to deal with that. I apologize for the last issue, but as I said I will not ignore that kind of shit wherever it is at. Believe me, I am more fuckin' sick of all of this than most of the rest of you, for it is not a good time for me here in the USA right now. If you insist that you must add to it for whatever reason, just leave everyone else out of it, because I can fuckin' handle anything that you may have, so bring it on if you must, but bring it to me not everyone else.

Hare Krishna,
Michael Mc Intyre

For me , my heart swing on theses differents kinds. Now my devotion for MH has had his time ( you can see my draw which i've spent a lot of time of Lemmy on his royal chair and Rickenbaker on this site as for exemple ).Time 's for me now to keep on going my own way. Lemmy 's good words , his open-minded rnr music , his honour and his good philosophy of the world represant an important reference for my young age.I admire his attitude and all people who have collaborate with him essentially as singer and musicians. All of you fans of the world i know you have good reasons to worship Motorhead as for me which it has really started with 'I ain't no nice guy '. All of this is only the summary of my though about Motorhead. The brixton last show is unforgettable for me.I wait today for the DVD.

The DVD is really boneshaking. Both video and audio quality are perfect and this is surely the greatest Motorhead experience apart from a real concert you can make. I already watched it several times but I just can't get enough. The promotion seems to be rather good also, I have seen many advertisments in magazines in Germany, which is not usual for Motorhead releases. It's a shame anyway that Motorhead nearly doesn't exist here in the (musical) public, although there is such a strong relationship between the band and Germany. The only thing that could be better on the DVD would be to have even more stuff on it, but maybe there was no more space. And now I have a question for all Germans or at least German-TV watching folks here: Has anyone recorded the appearance at the Harald- Schmid-Show last year? I really must have this, please help me!

Hi ace! I look forward to getting OS every month. I may be mistaken but I do recall Lemmy making a cameo appearance in the rocumentary Bad News. It was a pretty fuckin sad attempt at ripping off Spinal Tap from what I remember but it had some funny parts. I been a motorheadbanger since I was nine years old and will be forever. Some of my fondest memories are of skating my friends halfpipe and belching motorhead and venom lyrics when I was 12 years old. I got to hang out with Lemmy a few years back in Vancouver before their set. I weasled my way backstage with a couple of cute girlfriends of mine. I got to talking with Lemmy for a while and he pulled out his metal briefcase with all the stickers on it. He opened it and handed me a yellow lined notepad with writing on it. It was the lyrics to we are motorhead. He asked me what I thought but I was fuckin speechless. I dont give a rats ass about celebrities and fuckin rock stars but this is the one rock legend I actually respect and wanted to meet and here he is asking my opinion on his new lyrics! Mikkey was a real gentleman as well. Phil struck me as an arrogant cunt with an ego problem though. He may be one smokin motherfucing guitar picker but that rockstar jerkoff attitude is really nauseating. Lemmy on the otherhand was the antithesis of the "rockstar" elitist. It was an honour to meet the great teacher. I got the best fuckin motorhead tattoo in the world a few years back and I say that in all honesty cause I've seen good ones and lame ones but I have yet to see a better one. O.K. that freak in germany with the motorhead bodysuit has one up on mine. I got the orgasmatron design changed around so that snaggletooth is on an old ironhorse steam locomotive in black and grey. I'll try to get a photo on the site if they still have that page. This site would be a lot better if people kept their dialogue on to motorhead related subject matter instead of tweaking off on tangents and personal attacks that generally irritate the fuck out me. Thanks for the great site ace. B.T.L.L.T.W.

Hi Ace
Just seen the advert for the 'head DVD on a German pop station called VIVA ZWEI.
Interesting, I'm sure you'll agree. Over all too quick.

Ace, a quick favour please - When you see Lemmy in the studio again, tell him if the nearest lawn to the studio doesn't die, he and the lads are to re-record the album until such a time that it does. This is the acid test of a good Motorhead record - dead lawns, a tried and tested method of superior rock music. Spontaneously, exploding wildlife is another but has only been witnessed during the recording of albums up to and including Ace Of Spades and can't be expected these days because everything has gone digital and certain things have worn out and dropped off.

11 is one more. Turn it up. Keep rockin'.

Overall this is pretty excellent stuff.. there's a few gripes I've got with it though.

First - the case says there's videos for Sacrifice, God Save The Queen and Don't Believe a Word.. I can't find the last one, maybe it's a hidden extra or something?

The menus - confusing to navigate and find anything!!

aand the sound seems a bit weak on the CD.. Phil's guitar seems to disappear in the mix quite a bit, not like on the last live album, where Lemmy's bass just drowned everything out in a mass of distortion.. but it just seems to not be there on some songs - like Over Your Shoulder..

Aside from this, it's really nice to see that a lot of effort was put into the DVD.. I've seen quite a few band DVDs that are poorly made.. either just the videos already available put straight onto DVD, or they're made on such a low budget that they just look really bad..

It's a shame they didn't put more of the early videos on it though..!!

Here's to another 25,

Greetings to all Motoerhead Fans ( no umlout sorry),

And a Jolly New Year albeit maybe a slightly less turbulent one than 01, except for any Motorhead realeases of course. Ace first of all a great job on the site and the newsletter. The show in Zuerich just sounds great. I was particularly happily surprised by Hoochie Coochie Man introduced by Lemmy as a Willy Dixon song. It confirmed what I always knew and loved about Motorhead. There are first and foremost a british blues band, they just play it slightly louder and faster. I think that it is the British way of playing the Blues that gave birth to Hard Rock. And that relation to the blues and rock and roll is what sets Motorhead apart from bands like Metallica which somewhere I always found unsatisfying. This blues/rock and roll feel is what I find in Motorhead that connects me with it.

And for those of you who have been reading that far here comes the bonus: I just recently bought a CD by Johny Guitar Watson and guess what? He has song called Motorhead Baby, recorded in LA in .....1952!!!! The earliest date I have found so far of the word Motorhead.

Ace if you read this, I would be very interested in knowing if Lemmy knows this song- I'd be surprised if he didn't- and also what are his thoughts on the book " the forgotten soldier" as well as what kind of influence on his bass playing did Nokie Edwards and Bo Bogle from the Ventures may have had.

Thanks for everything Ace.

Awhile back, Dee Snider released a cd called "Don't Let The Bastards Wear You Down." The first song was called "Hard Core" and was written for and about Lemmy! Snider includes liner notes thanking Lemmy immensely for helping them break big in the U.K. Well, evidently, Lemmy himself sings the song on a soundtrack to a movie called "Frezno Smooth." I just ordered the cd, but haven't seen the movie in which Lemmy apparently has a cameo sold anywhere. Another notch on his movie bedpost!

Hi ya Ace!
Got a question for you. I had ordered the DVD from a local record shop & they tell me the company that was putting it out here in the states ~ has gone belly-up. Now, if I order it off the MH web site, will it play in american DVD players? I ordered Rory Gallagher "Irish Tour" from the UK & it will only play in our laptop pc. I even bought a new player in hopes of it working....it didn't! Something 'bout it being outta range. So, if you know any details on it, would you please lemme know?

Thanx a million, man!
Melissa Marie

**Ace: as soon as I know more, I will let you all know.

Let me start off by saying thanks and a big heartfelt CHEERS! for all the work U do for the most kick-ass band in the world. I have yet to see them in concert and one of my dying iwshes is to see them one day! I have met Lemmy at the Rainbow a couple of times when I was in L.A. going to music school. He is the coolest, and one of the most friendly guys I have met. I just have one question. I ams ure U are sick of this one, but, has the DVD been released yet? I tried to pre-order it on line and, it stays they are out of stock. If u could let me know I would appreciate it. I know U are busy so thanks again!

I got the new Boneshaker DVD for xmas. It's a very good package but
was anyone else pissed off at the following:

1 - No titles on the menu page so you end up guessing where you want to go.

2 - Box promised 3 videos but there's only 2. I was looking forward to seeing "I don't believe a word" as it's one of my favourites, but it isn't there as advertised.

3 - There's meant to be 6 songs from the Wacken festival but there are only
4 - I don't think I'm being petty here and the DVD is still great, but they should put in what's advertised on the box. Imagine if you bought the new Motorhead album and 3 of the songs were missing.

And that woman in the cut off jean shorts is getting on me nerves as well.

Hi Ace,

Love your website, I was at a club here in cincinnati and heard a tecno- dance version of ace of spades, have you heard it? it was awesome. Do you know how to get a copy of an Ep that motorhead did called beer drinkers and hell raisers, they coverd the ZZTOP song of the same name. I also have the No remorse album in the leather case . Keep up the good work and if you come to cincy to see mo-head drop me a line you can stay for free at my house.

Ace: I believe it was on the "Best of Motorhead" CD release.

Has the "Boneshaker" DVD officially been released in the US? CDNOW has it for sale, as do a few other sites, but it's not the easiest thing for me to locate at some of my favorite e-merchants. If it's not out yet, is there a tentative release date?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dear Ace,
thanks for your brilliant work on the web. It's the best information source for me, in Germany you hear hardly nothing about "the largest fucking musicians in da world".Anyway,I got the Boneshaker DVD and i thank God everyday for this masterpiece of pure rock.Damn i've missed this happening !

So i have two additional questions:

1. The first one is about the "Bastards" Album. I've read somewhere that this Album was released only in good old Germany, is is right ?? What kind of problems did the band have at this time? I want to know because i think it is a brilliant Album which is not menioned very often (in any literature and album polls) and ,of course,it was my first Motrhead Album(so i want to know what do you and all the .Motorheadbangers think about it :-)

**Ace: It was originally only released in Germany. It has recently been re-released... much easier to find now.

2. Seeing many Gig's in Germany i want to see a show abroad, not knowing which place i should visit (everything but Germany). I planned for LA, is it worth to go there (and where)?

OK, everything's said and i hope you can provide me some background information on the greatest fucking rock'n roll band ever .......

**Ace: What can I say - LA is my (and Lemmy's) home. But all the European fans that I have net have told me that the North American audiences are tame compared to the rest of the world.

P.S.: Didn't you appear in the hidden studio session (and interview) ?

**Ace: I was involved in one of the interview sessions, but I do not know if it made it to the DVD. I haven't found it yet.

For some reason unknown to me, scoring a copy of the new Motorhead DVD, Boneshaker, is next to impossible to find. The usual online stores (CD Now, Tower, Amazon, etc) say it is out of stock and after having it on back order on CD Now for 30 days, they came up empty. Do you know if the Motorheadshop will be selling these DVDs at some point? I have heard of some folks having the disc, so I know that it is released, but I thought you might have some inside information. It's very frustrating to say the least!

Thank you much,
Lee Underwood

**Ace: As soon as I can get them, I will sell them.

I brought this up a couple weeks ago, a soundtrack cd with Lemmy singing a Dee Snider song that Snider wrote ABOUT Lemmy called "Hardcore." Well, I got it yesterday (from cdnow) and Lemmy's song is GREAT! Good enough for a Motorhead album! Only thing, he should've changed Snider's chorus of "He's Hardcore" to "I'M hardcore" since the song is about him! Motorhead (the song) live is also on the cd. "Hardcore" is credited to just "Lemmy", so I don't know if Phil & Mikkey are on it. I guess Lemmy has a small role in the movie which might be soft porn since Ron Jeremy is in it!

Just seen boneshaker... really awesome documental stuff, and very great to see brian may and eddie on stage with the beast. In one included interview i heard phil talking abotu somepeople throwing them mud... i was there, it was o 1997 my or june i think, on Festimad on madrid, there had been a big rain before the show, and the floor was sand... i was all muddy then... the concert come and at the middle of it some people throw 4 times mud to lemmy and phil, one of them hit campbell on the right leg and dirtied his shirt, lemmy was more lucky and he could even avoid one missile ant the same time he was playing overkill... i remember him just after ace of spades talking to these bastards and telling them to go to backstage and fight lemmy him self....

I heard lemmy had stopped someone show because people trowing them bottles or some, and i was afraid lemmy would do the same thing again... lets try to keep those throwing shit bastard off of the shows, sometimes they destroy a lot of ilusion from fans when they obligate the nabd to stop the show.

a year after this show, i was watching one heavy metal tv show on spain, mariano musiesa's rockstar one, and he hit me with an Ace of spades from that show, i got in on mpg and you can watch in it lemmy avoidin the mud on ace of spades....

A big hello for a motorhead fan on this show who had a great tatto on his arm, completely bald, he was vasqueguian but i dont remember his name, spent with him one hour but was funny...

Another, last summer a fan from madrid (i live on cadiz, 500 km from away madrid) stopped me on street in my town because i was wearing a 2001 astoria 25 anniversary shirt... we gave our emails and cellular phones... but we didnt see again until 8 months months later, he stopped me again... but this time we spent more time drinking and talking about the band and else, and at last we became friends... its cool how the band lets you meet new people everywhere...

Well, that all, tried to explain all in average elnglish quality, Ace?, when will be an OS in both spanish and english?? jaja... bye

Think thas bonneshaker's ace of spades its one on the most killers ace of spades ive heard (with the permission of hammersmiths one)...
