Subject: os: great meeting you all!

Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

First off, I have uploaded a new Tour Thru Time concert for your listening pleasure. A rare treat straight from lemmy's personal archives. This is the first 45 minutes of Motorhead's concert in Zurik, Swtizerland promoting the Another Perfect Day record. This tour was unique as it represented the only tour to feature Brian "Robbo" Robinson on guitar. Featured on this show were some early classics along with some great tracks from Another Perfect Day that are rarely heard live these days.

The recording is from a soundboard, but it is almost 20 years old. So, there are a few glitches in the tape. But overall this is a great Motorhead live experience and a wonderful chronicle of the band's live show from 1983.

I spoke to Phil today and he said that work on the new album is progressing nicely. All of the instrumental portions are almost complete. Next comes the vocals and then the mix. He told me that HHH from the WWF and his wife came to the studio a few days ago so that HHH could add some spoken word that will be used on the new Motorhead album.

We also talked about the Boneshaker DVD. It looks like the release date will be December 17 - just in time for X-mas! They are still tweeking some of the special sections of the DVD. Phil said that the 25th Anniversary show looked & sounded great! I have also been told by SPV that the DVD contains several "Easter Eggs". Be sure to search for the hidden sections to experience the special additions to the DVD.

A UK team is producing a TV documentary on bands from the UK. Motorhead is going to be the subject of one episode and they have sent a request to me that I would like to send out to all of you...

Basically it's a series of shows called 'Rock Legends' about bands from the Midlands region of the UK. This includes a show about Motorhead. They don't want to make a straightforward biog of the band. They want to make the viewer think "hmmmm I didn't know that about them...".

They will be interviewing Lemmy in LA around mid December time and require an LA based Motorhead fan. Ideally they need a fan who has a huge collection of memorabilia or has some quirky stories about the band.

if you think you fit the bill, drop me an email with the subject "MOTORHEAD TV" and I will forward the info to the shows producers. Good luck!

South Africa tour is now postponed. It seems that with the world situation as it is right now, touring is not the best thing to do. The guys are going to concentrate on finishing the new record for now. We should see them on the road again early next year.

For those of you that have not heard yet, the Motorhead DVD is called "Boneshaker". It contains the 25th Anniversary show taped in London with guests like "Fast Eddie Clark", "Brian May", "Whitfield Crane" and many more. In addition I am told that their will be a whole slew of Motorhead videos and interviews - a true celebration of the band's history!

You can pre-order it by visiting the following URL:

I have not seen the DVD yet, so that is all I know. However, Mikkey did show me what the cover art will look like. It is rendered by the great Joe Petagno and is a composite of all the previous covers he has done for Motorhead. Wait until you see it!

Time to clear out the closets. From now until the end of the year, if any OS member places an order for ANYTHING in the Motorheadshop, you can purchase one of the OS Y2K shirts for only $15 (plus P & H). There are VERY few of these left. I would rather they be on the backs of OS members rather then in a box in my closet.

This is still the best way for OS members to find each other at gigs. If you see someone wearing one of these shirts, it is a sure bet that they are a fellow OS member. Still a few left. If you want projects like this in the future, please support the effort and buy one. To order one (or several as many of you did last time), please go to http://www.imotorhead.com/tshirt2000.htm

Have an awesome week!

Got lots of cool new stuff in the Motorheadshop! Several new shirts and other interesting items. More will be added this week. The time to purchase for Christmas is now. Check things out today!

It would be a great marketing idea to increase visibility for the world's loudest band!

Hi All,
Last tuesday as we all know thousands of innocent people were murdered by a terrorist attack on the twin towers in New-York, I'd like to share my condolencies with all those who lost friends and family in that attack. what these terrorists did saddened me deeply, taking away peoples lifes, their free-will to live as they please, but the growing american patriotism saddens me alot too, it seems that america want revenge because someone dared to attack them and not because innocent lives were taken- but american lives. Why value life differently because of where that life began?now america is going to prove killing is wrong by killing hundreds of thousands of afgans, they will be followed in this military action by "the civilised world" as they call themselves (probably because they kill in a civilised way, ie with missiles) this action will be undergone dispite public opinion which demands a non aggressive solution, without killing any more 'innocent people'. in repressed countries such as pakistan on the other hand the public opinion presses towards war despite the government wanting a peaceful 'hand-over'. In countries where we have a legal right to free will, our voiices won't be heard, but in the countries where they don't I fear they will get their way (war) even if it means over trowing the government in power. Bin laden is a danger to humanity because he has no respect for free will, but this is true for many (if not all) people in places of power. Countries where human rights are not respected sould not be tolerisedhumanitary missions should be sent in to force goverments to respect human rights, rather then sending over gun merchants. how can we tolerate that a country will give somebody capital punishment because of what he thinks, if what he thinks is wrong then explain what is right, but the problem is that most of the time in these supressed countries what the person said/thinks is usually right. So what should be done about Bin Laden, first the taliban gov. should be flooded with troups, and a new gov which respects human rights put in place, Bin laden would then probably run to an over country where the gov. supports him, so do the same there etc... until he and other terrorists like him have no were to hide, then make him shoot himself in the head.

About religion: just a short note about Muslims, since Bin laden uses the Koran text to justify what he does, well remember catholics, they did the same for thousands of years, according to christianity, women only got a soul a couple of hundred years back, and black people, only 50 or so! Religion is a form of escapism for those who need it, it's neither good nor bad, but fanatics will always come and pevert it to their cause, luckily for me I don't need religion so can't be mislead by it... I listen to my heart!

Ace - As soon as I saw Mikkey's Motorhead shirt on the Drew Carey show I thought " Why the hell didn't Ace tell us about this?" but the MSFT screwup explains it. As you said, they rocked and it was so fucking cool to see the boys on network tv in America. Hopefully we will find out when that show will repeat so people can tape it. Keep up your great work - it is truly appreciated.

Hi everyone!
Just a quick one here in reply to a couple of requests in the last issue:

Peter Dlugosinski was asking where to get a good rendition of the original, fully detailed and un-fucked about with Snaggletooth face for a tattoo - nice idea!
Go to the site shown below (which is always listed at the end of OS issues) where they have all the album cover artwork in thumbnails which can be viewed full screen size. The ?No Remorse? one is there - I?ve got it as my wallpaper and it is truly beautiful!

Also someone with the address
- FraudNo@aol.com
wants the lyrics for Orgasmatron which you can find on the same site along with ALL the lyrics for All the official albums!
You lucky people!

The site is:
Motorhead - A Tribute To The Loudest Band In The World

The other thing to mention is that I got the go-ahead from the venerable guru Alan Burridge to stick up a site with all my old vintage Motorheadbangers stuff on it. This includes mags and newsletters from the early years plus my various certificates with different line-ups on them. As it is, my scanner?s fucked and I?m in the process of rectifying this. When I do I?ll get on the case and post up the address on OS and send links to all the sites so?s we can all enjoy the succulence of these fine items. You got to see some of the artwork and comic strip stuff!

By the way I was at a crazy party last saturday where me and a couple of geezers took to the stage for a jam. None of us had played together before but we managed to play 'Bomber', 'Spades' and 'Motorhead' off the cuff. It was a fuckin good laugh. Makes me want to start a non-serious tribute band - call it 'Munterhead' or 'Motordread' - something like that. We also did 'Whole Lotta Rosie', 'Warpigs' and 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' cos some drunken bird insisted that we played it so she could sing it!

Anyway that?ll do for now, I?m off to do shopping (rock?n?roll eh?)

Keep it dirty

I used to hate Traitor...but the lead break is just too fantastic, and waiting for that moment in the song overides my previous thoughts. By the way...i would have said anarchy in the uk was the worst had it not been a cover....its fuckin awfull, what with lemmy trying to sound like rotten...christ...i really think that song allmost ruind the whole album, which i happen to think is one of their best in latter years. anyway...swallow your pride and tell us your least fave and why....it'll be a little more interesting than licking lemmys arse again.

Subject: I Have A Question

I have noticed that the old dog faced bag of fuckin' bones, Queen Elizabeth, has knighted the likes of Paul Mc Cartney and Elton John. Now I might be wrong, but the only reason that I see for then being knighted is that they are British and that they have been successful musicians for a long time. If I remember correctly, Lemmy is British, and he has had success in the music business for a long time too. Why the fuck doesn't that old bag knight Lemmy then?? Could it be because you have to fuck her first before she'll do it? She didn't knight Mc Cartney until he was a widower, and even though Elton John doesn't like women, I bet that the Queen's ass is as hairy as any man's, so it's no difference there. Could Lemmy have spurned her advances and that' s why she won't do it? Maybe she' s totally hot for him and is pissed that he won't give her the same treatment that he gives the nubile nymphs that show up at the Motorhead shows. No matter what, it is an outrage. Lemmy shouldn't have to sicken himself for life just to become knighted or whatever. What do these fuckin' knights do anyway? I'm sure that whatever it is, that Lemmy is perfectly capable of doing it. So I think that all the loyal subjects of the UK need to band together to correct this egregious oversight. Tell that old fuckin' bitch that this needs to be done. Tell her to go and buy a fuckin' vibrator for her kicks, they cannot cost more than a few pounds. Even that cheap bitch can spare that much. This outrage must be corrected. Lemmy isn't getting any younger. The time is nigh.
Thank you,

Subject: os: re-releases?

Hi Ace and all you other Mot-raddicts!

I was very happy to read that you Ace had had the opportunity to listen to demos for the new album. I'm excited since you wrote that the material sounds so great. One thing that I wonder about is the new re-releases. I've bought the remastered cd:s, and now I'd like to know; what bonus tracks will there be on the new versions? I've spent my last year trying to collect every damn version of every damn song the boys have ever recorded, and I'm not exaggerating if i say that my collection is about 99% complete. There may be some bootleg live versions that I don't have, but anyway... So these news about new re-releases shocked me! Well, if you Ace don't have any more info yet, I guess we'll just have to wait and see...
I live in Finland so I guess I won't get to see the Drew Carey-episode yet, they're pretty late with shows like that around here, you see... By the way, Ace, have you heard anything about Mot-rhead possibly coming to Finland soon?

Well, that's it. Hopefully I'll see some of you fellow Mot-rfreaks at concerts!

Marco "Fists" Lindholm

Here's a link to my band's website: http://listen.to/terrorwheel

**Ace: Acutally, Sanctuary were good enough to send me a complete set of the US re-releases. They have all the same tracks as the first set of re-releases they did, so there are no new surprizes. The sound quality is great and the packaging is nice. If you have already purchased the previous re-releases, there is no real need to buy these ones. If you have not taken the time to do so, these are great releases! In addition, I don't think that Orgasmatron, No Sleep At All, All The Aces and No Remorse were included in the previous batch of re-releases.

The bonus tracks on those three re-release are as follows:

Orgasmatron: On The Road, Steal Your Face, Claw
No Remorse: Under The knife (12" Version), Under The Knife (12" Single Version), Masterplan, No Class (featuring Wendy O Williams), Stand By Your Man (featuring Wendy O Williams).
No Sleep At All: Stay Clean, Metropolis
All The Aces: Disc One: Videos for Ace of Spades (Live) and Motorhead (Live)
All the Aces: Disc Two: "The Muggers Tapes": White Lightning, Space Chaser, Somethin' Else, Would If You Could, (Just A) Nightmare, Cinnamon Girl, Summertime Blues, Killer, Killer

But, there is one interesting tidbit for all you collectors out there. Someone in the layout department made an error on the Ace of Spades album. The photo on the cover is not the correct one. Instead they used the one that previously appeared on the inside tray insert. This will only be the case for the first run... so this is sure to be one of the most rare "error" prints of any Motorhead release! The pictures are close but here is how you can tell. If Lemmy's right hand is half way up his chest, you are holding one of the error covers.

Hey Ace and everybody else! #132 was my first edition of OS. I'm 33 and have always loved fast and hard rock and roll but amazingly never?really heard?Motorhead. The supposed "rock and roll" radio stations that I listened to growing up in the Philadelphia area never played them. I'm very sorry to say that I was ignorant. I knew the song "Ace Of Spades" and I knew Lemmy was the guy with the two big bumps on his face who had the microphone stand that was taller than he was so that the mic was pointed down. I remembered seeing them on "The Young Ones" on MTV and seeing Lemmy in a pictorial of Samantha Fox in Penthouse or some nudie magazine. Fast forward almost a couple of decades. I've been winning a whole lot of gift certificates ($50 each) for a local chain of record stores?from a radio station here in the Washington, DC - Baltimore, MD area that does a nightly contest where they play the nine most requested songs of the day and if you can get through on the phone and na! me all the songs you win the certificate. I'd seen an advertisement for the Nashville Pussy CD "High As Hell" and based on that alone picked up that CD. It was free, you know, what did I have to lose? It fuckin' blew me away and I got "Let Them Eat Pussy" as well. NP talked alot about Lemmy and Motorhead and so I decided to check them out. Things haven't been the same since! I can't even listen to any other band right now. ?Motorhead is without a doubt the greatest band ever to?walk the face of the earth! Lemmy is a living legend!?But you all know that and have for years and years. I'm now up to my tenth Motorhead CD as of today. I can't wait for the DVD. I, too, would like to get a tattoo of the Snaggletooth logo and also would like to get my hands on the clearest, most detailed, official rendering of it that is possible, if anyone can help. I know I'm way late in getting in on this and have alot of catching up to do. The web site has been extremely helpful in finding !
out about my new favorite band. Long live Lemmy and Motorhead (I've got to see them play live)! They ARE rock and roll! No offense to Nashville Pussy - they're next after Motorhead. I don't think they'd mind that. Please keep the editions of OS coming!

Hi Ace!

I was looking at the past tour dates section in http://www.imotorhead.com and I noticed that the MH's first gig outside Great Britain was Punkarock festival on 23.06. 1979 in Punkaharju, Finland. Is this true? I mean how accurate is the list? Are there ALL the tour dates? If it's true this would be quite a surprise for me because that's a small place in Finland and I live only a 20-30 km away from it. Nowadays, as far as I know, there isn't any Punkarock festival anymore. So Mot-rhead must have been the best thing that happened to that place.

He who is known as Ace.....

I have just read the recent OS mailer and it is the best ever produced. The content is just so rich .My laptop just conked out and this mail to the club is now somewhat shorter than planned.

How cool is it to read of new fans?.

I can?t connect with WWF but it?s clearly a channel for new blood to great music. The Dutch lad?s mail is spot on. 14 years old and ?screw the system? and appreciation of and underground (ie not Walmart Metal sounds) is so healthy to hear. I was 13 when I went to my first Head gig-Ace Up Your Sleeve Tour. Historic. Same ?fuck the system? and ?screw commercial heavy rock acts? attitude I had then (and now). Unfortunately, Phil got the job as Welsh Guitar Supremo instead of me (this was my answer to the career?s officer when I was 14-like you really know you want to be a IT sales Director back then).

The Dutch lad should go far.

And why?

Mainly because any system (economical-political-social) has to be regularly challenged by the younger generation to at least be fine tuned the (OK?ish) crock of shit they inherit. (Basics-money, power, people) and further tuned by the most important guiding light-romanticism ie CREATIVTY.

(Please excuse the use of brackets-but good though aren?t they!? No need to ever be grammatically correct).

The next mail re: design of the os2001 shirt design forum submission is a great idea. I reckon that we have some seriously good talent out in the Global Mhead world (bigger than you and I think). We need to have a shirt that reflects the new (for Mikki (the drum solo is alive and well) & Phil) for the new fans but also something that gives a nod of respect to the classic music and artwork of the past (for Fast Eddie, Philthy, ACE OF SPADES, Motorhead, BOMBER, OVERKILL). I highlight the ones that I regard as vintage

Motorhead is like fine art and wine-ie better as it ages. For those of my vintage, the Marvelesque comicbook that was available on the Ace Of Spades tour was an incredible piece that deserves reissue and inclusion into designs of shirts for young and old. But I?m biased of course.

I had limited funds at my first gig and naively bought a bootleg shirt outside then venue after being convinced by the scummy vendor it was official and have genuinely regretted since it for 15+ years. Because these days, if I was a young fan, I would have read this very mail via imotorhead.com on the new fangled internet and realised that I should have not been convinced by the ?touts? outside that this was official merchandise. (We had Space Invaders as the technology benchmark back then by the way).

Tout Twat. I could have bought the classically simple ?Ace Up Your Sleeve? shirt inside and treasured it now. (If the tout is by chance reading this then, yes, it was me who tracked you down and pin-pricked the hydraulic pipe on your car that should have worked when braking at speeds over 60 mph. Only kidding kids!). Bet the chaps never saw an image royalty either. I don?t like the fact that parasites make a living on the back of Lemmy?s creativity.

Some bloody good shirts at Ace?s shop too. Buy them now as he runs this site on love as far as I can gather. And love?s not free these days (it?s at least ?70 for 10 minutes in London!). So buy the LTD edition shirts to support his costs. He deserves a medal for services beyond the call of duty and I?m pleased that the fella?s appreciate his efforts when they take him on the road. By the way, love goes quite crisp after four hours and is then difficult to wash from a duvet. Ahem.

Some good comments made about the chaps lack of input on the site. But, simply, check their schedule. I feel tired just looking at the tours they need to do combined with recording and regular business as usual. And doing the regular family thing. They work hard and tour far and wide. I would love to have the Guys feedback via ACE but I know their pretty tuckered out.

The Devil?s Advocate in me dissed the whole WWF ?The Game? tune by the chaps. Isn?t it nice to shake the tree to see what drops. A lady fan (parent) replied to a previous mail of mince to state that her young son has connected with Mhead on the back of that song.

How good is that!.

She said (rightly so) that a new legion of ?Proper? music lovers had been brought onto the ship that is the Head cos of this. As a new Dad, I think this is so good and I also am enthused by such a healthy response. This music is as far away from Classical or commercial (traditional or classic jazz/pop/whatever) as you can be but the boys have created Classic songs that will always be appeal to the people of the world who keep things on track. Not the squares (classical form-ie form & function) but to the misfits (don?t care about how it works but it feels GOOD and is positive).

Finally, on the subject of Lem?s liking for Nazi regalia. Well, I collect Vietnam gear. War is a truly terrible, horrible thing. Any war. But I just think my 1967 MA1 jacket and 1968 Zippo look so good.

But be sensitive as and when appropriate as to when to wear or talk of these things.

VH1 had a show where the crux was 'Rock N' Roll', or 'Loud Rock N' Roll'
... Something similar.
Anyhow, among the choices out of the four 'Loudest' Heavy Metal songs ever were 'Motley Crue's' Girls, girls ... (Fucking Right?), 'Twisted Sister' :o ... I think some other faggots - or maybe not ... Cannot remember, and Motorheads' '____' (and no ... It was not 'Ace of Spades').
- Guess who won?
