Issue #132 - October 12, 2001

To All--

My humblest apologies... it turns out that Microsoft messed up and did not send out my last issue of OS (even though the software indicated it had been done). I was wondering why none of you were
emailing me ;-)

BTW, the episode of Drew Carey featuring Motorhead aired last night. For those of you that missed it, the idea went something like this. Drew has a rival character on the show named Mimi. They pull extreme practical jokes on each other throughout the series. This is all exasperated by the fact that Drew's borther is MARRIED to Mimi.

At the end of last season, her pranks finally drove him to the insane asylum (not really, she just managed to get him committed as part of another joke). Her husband (Drew's brother) moved out of their home until she apologized to Drew. The only apology Drew would accept was one who's result would make sure the whole city knew she was sorry.

Her solution... hire Motorhead to play "Stagefright" with altered lyrics that were the apology. The staging was soooo cool! Tight shots of Phil plugging in his guitar, Mikkey's "Motorhead England" shirt, Lemmy stepping up to the mic. When they tore into the song, the entire house Drew lives in shook like it was a 9.0 earthquake!! He staggered through the shaking house out to the band's stage area
where his eye glasses promptly smashed! Very funny stuff!! If anyone got it on video tape and would be willing to send me a copy, please contact me off list. Thanks!

Anyway, here is the latest issue of OS...

Subject: os: great meeting you all!

Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

Well, well, well! What a crazy time we had! The west coast "Boneshaker" tour is now a part of history and the shows were awesome! I had such a great time on the road with Motorhead and an even better time meeting all of you! It was fantastic too meet so many OS members at the shows. It really drove home the fact that our little family includes a wonderfully diverse group of people united in our love for the greatest band in the world!

So many really cool people that took the time to introduce themselves to me and hang out for a little while... you all make the work I do with the list and the website worth while. I was touched by all the wonderful comments and praise about the site and the list. Thank you all!

Several true Motorheadbangers from Germany and other parts of Europe made their way over the ocean, braving terrorists and bad airline food to indulge their love of the loudest band in the world! I salute you all (you know who you are).

So much to tell...

The world was in shock when terrorists destroyed the World Trade Towers. I would like to send out my warmest thoughts to all those affected by this horror. A few days after it happen, Lemmy contacted me and asked me to convey the following message:

Lemmy Sez:

Since I've been coming to America to tour since 1973, I feel kind of like an adopted American in a lot of ways, and this atrocity hit me too. The cold-blooded way these assassins used passenger flights (and whatever creed these people follow, there were surely some of the same creed among the passengers) is unforgivable.

They need to be certainly identified, and then blasted and razed from the face of the earth. This is one instance where revenge is inevitable - just make sure they're the right guys and then erase 'em. All our condolences to the relatives and friends - all my disgust for the perpetrators.

Well, it seems that the shows in Greece are off. The organizers there could not pull all the elements together in time and hence the shows are off. South Africa is still a go - a first for the band. Lemmy told me that this is the one continent that he has not visited and he is very excited about these shows!

Here is an up-to-date tour date list:

11/02/01 Johannesburg, South Africa Standard Bank Arena
11/03/01 Johannesburg, South Africa Standard Bank Arena
11/06/01 Cape Town, South Africa Arts
11/07/01 Cape Town, South Africa Arts
11/09/01 Durban, South Africa Kingspark Outerfield

For those of you that have not heard yet, the Motorhead DVD is called "Boneshaker". It contains the 25th Anniversary show taped in London with guests like "Fast Eddie Clark", "Brian May", "Whitfield Crane" and many more. In addition I am told that their will be a whole slew of Motorhead videos and interviews - a true celebration of the band's history!

I am not 100% sure of the release date, but Amazon.com lists it as November 13th. You can pre-order it by visiting the following URL:

I have not seen the DVD yet, so that is all I know. However, Mikkey did show me what the cover art will look like. It is rendered by the great Joe Petagno and is a composite of all the previous covers he has done for Motorhead. Wait until you see it!

I have had the priviledge of hearing some of the demos Motorhead has recorded for the upcoming album. This is some of the best music that I have heard these fellows create ever! As we were travelling in the tour bus one morning, Phil played me eight tracks that had only drums and guitar demoed. The songs were solid and mature. It included some of the most inspired work that I have ever heard Phil create!

After the west coast dates finished, the guys went into the studio and began recording the album in earnest. Mikkey has already finished recording his drum tracks. Phil and Lemmy are now working on the rest. I think we are going to have another masterpiece on out hands!

Last Monday the band filmed an episode of "The Drew Carey Show". For those of you that don't know, The Drew Carey Show is one of the most popular sitcoms aired over here in America. The guys taped the episode the day before they embarked on the first leg of the "Boneshaker" tour. From all reports, it went very well and the guys had a great time. Drew and his staff treated everyone very well and a good time was had by all!

The episode is scheduled to air October 24th and sees the band performing a version of "Stagefright" with slightly alterted lyrics. Be sure to check it out on October 24th!

Here is a press release I received about the new Motorhead reissues...

Britain's legendary Motorhead has great reason to celebrate! Not only has the band been influencing the gamut of hard music for the past 25 years (ranging from Punk and Hardcore to every extreme of Metal), but also this anniversary season has seen the band appear on some high-profile television events. On April 1st, the band performed their single "The Game" live at WWF's premier wrestling event Wrestlemania X-7 at the Houston Astrodome (the song doubled as the theme music for WWF star Triple H). A week prior to that event, the band made a special appearance with Triple H on the highly successful program Smackdown. This past Monday, September 24, Lemmy Kilmister & crew participated in the filming for an episode of The Drew Carey Show, which is scheduled to air on October 24th.

Throughout the Fall, Sanctuary Records Group's imprint label Metal-Is Records will be re-releasing a dozen key Motorhead titles, each with bonus tracks, essential for any hard music fan's collection. The releases include: All The Aces, No Remorse, Ace Of Spades, No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith, Bomber, Iron Fist , Overkill, Another Perfect Day, Orgasmatron, Rock 'N' Roll, No Sleep At All, The Chase Is Better Than The Catch (The Singles A's & B's). Also in the works is the release of Mot-rhead's 25th Anniversary DVD, Live At The Brighton Academy, which is slated to feature guest performances from Brian May (QUEEN), Fast Eddie Clark (ex-Motorhead), Whitfield Crane (UGLY KID JOE) and Doro Pesch (DORO, WARLOCK). The band is furiously composing their next album for the Sanctuary Records Group, which is expected for a Spring 2002 release.

This is still the best way for OS members to find each other at gigs. If you see someone wearing one of these shirts, it is a sure bet that they are a fellow OS member. Still a few left. If you want projects like this in the future, please support the effort and buy one. To order one (or several as many of you did last time), please go to http://www.imotorhead.com/tshirt2000.htm

Have an awesome week!

Very soon there will be new shirts and related items in the Motorheadshop. In the short term, I want you all to get the jump on the new "Motorhead England - Boneshaker" T-Shirts. These are black t-shirts that feature the classic "Motorhead England" image on the front and have the "Boneshaker" tour dates on the back. I have a limited number of these left over from the tour. You get frist crack at them for $25 each (plus shipping and handling - see the regaulr Motorhead England page for details). They are available in M, L, XL and XXL.

In addition, I have the classic "Motorhead England" image available on a girls, black baby t-shirt. These are one-size-fits-most and are $25 each. There is only a handful of these left from the tour!

After you all get the chance to order, I will offer them to the public at large! Hurry as there are VERY few left!

Yesterday night i went to Chipiona (Cadiz, Spain) to a concert of THE SUAVES... what a great spanish band, if you have the oportunity get music of them get it, motorhead is rock n roll,..... theyre too.... y would like to see their frontman Yosi doing a jam with lemmy in some of his songs, he has a voice that sounds as lemmys, and some of their songs ends as some motorhead do, with a full bass-drum-guitar rythmics repetitions, as no voices in the sky live...

thats all, hope to listen to new album soon, and like to watch motorhead on the bull skin (Spain) again... bye

**Ace: we can consider doing a new OS shirt... if any one wants to send design ideas, I am always open to new ideas...

Subject: when will motorhead play my block party?

Can anyone tell me if MH ever plan to tour in Australia again. The last time I saw them was June 91 and it was a special night for me - Mindblowing concert and scored my first fuck after. Please come back to Oz soon soon so that maybe I can get lucky again. Max-Sydney

Max, and all the other complainers of this subject!

Save your money and fly to see Motorhead when they play Japan (your close in Australia). There is many-a-fans that do this very thing. I've flown many times from my country (U.S.) to Europe to see them. Also, went to many of shows far away in the U.S. from my neighborhood. Motorhead has never played at?my street's block party so why would they play your living room? Come on, get off the computer and get into a car or plane and see a great Motorhead show in a different venue then the same two you go to and some culture other then your bedroom, living room, school, workplace and so on.........So, if your a true Motorhead fan, do the duty and favor to yourself and leave your 3 mile area and EXTEND yourself to see them.

Tired of hearing people wanting Motorhead to play three blocks or closer to them. Take your checking account, or savings, or credit cards or if your life is in shambles save money for the rainy day when Motorhead plays 400 miles away and go see the show. Stop complaining cause I'll take a map and show you that they have pretty much covered the world almost each and every year. Which, will show you that for a couple of hundred dollars or equivalent?in your?currency will put you AT A MOTORHEAD SHOW.

Since '91 you couldn't save enough money for a plane ticket and a hotel room? oh, maybe the price of the concert ticket on top of all that probably put it over the top, huh? $20 U.S. dollars or equivalent?($300 plane ticket tops, $100 Hotel, and concert ticket $20. food equals out cause you have to eat anyway! I ASK YOU THIS! Are you so poor (that knowingly, Motorhead travels around the world every year) that you can not save at least $10 U.S. dollars a WEEK or equivalent in your currency?

Subject: Re. Snaggletooth masks

I actually have a Snaggletooth mask. It was sculpted by a rabid MOTORHEAD fan who was a make up artist on the X-files. He made the master and then poured 2 more for me, one of which I painted myself and gave to someone as a gift.(we worked together for a couple of years)

I still have the other unpainted one sitting at home. The only drawback though is that he never poured 2 sets of horns so the one I still have is missing them.(the extra one I have was a test for latex thickness and detail)

I have often thought of posting it on this site to see if anyone was interested. I can try to find some photos of the finished piece so you guys can see the incredible detail that was put in to these. He was
inspired by the snarling, drooling covers of ROCK AND ROLL and ORGASMATRON.

I haven't worked with the guy in three years but I am sure he still has the master. He sold them both painted (by himself) and unfinished.(typical yellowish latex rubber) THey are very easy to paint using acylics.

I will see if I can get hold of him to see if he is interested in making more. How would the band feel about this Ace? Do they mind us selling/trading stuff via this website?

**Ace: Not at all! :-) I think I would want one!

I suppose if Lemmy got one. Actually, the best way might be to sell them through Ace's Motorheadshop. He could get a cut and it would help support the site. If this is going to happen it would best to move fast. Halloween is the time for this. I'm sure they'll be expensive. If its ready after Halloween, I'd probably look at it and say, "Maybe a t-shirt is a better idea". It might already be too late for this year but would be worth planning for.

Hi Ace,
While, like many a Motorheadbanger, Iam over the moon at finally hearing the release date for the 25th anniversary DVD I was only left wondering why the news didnt come from you, Ace.
Don't SPV etc give you the news before it goes on their website? It seems to me they should do as you do run the official Motorhead website and it would give them some free advertising. I dunno, it just seems strange that the news of the "Ultimate DVD" was brought to light by a normal Motorheadbanger (no offence intended Patrick).

Hi All,
Last tuesday as we all know thousands of innocent people were murdered by a terrorist attack on the twin towers in New-York, I'd like to share my condolencies with all those who lost friends and family in that attack. what these terrorists did saddened me deeply, taking away peoples lifes, their free-will to live as they please, but the growing american patriotism saddens me alot too, it seems that america want revenge because someone dared to attack them and not because innocent lives were taken- but american lives. Why value life differently because of where that life began?now america is going to prove killing is wrong by killing hundreds of thousands of afgans, they will be followed in this military action by "the civilised world" as they call themselves (probably because they kill in a civilised way, ie with missiles) this action will be undergone dispite public opinion which demands a non aggressive solution, without killing any more 'innocent people'. in repressed countries such as pakistan on the other hand the public opinion presses towards war despite the government wanting a peaceful 'hand-over'. In countries where we have a legal right to free will, our voiices won't be heard, but in the countries where they don't I fear they will get their way (war) even if it means over trowing the government in power. Bin laden is a danger to humanity because he has no respect for free will, but this is true for many (if not all) people in places of power. Countries where human rights are not respected sould not be tolerisedhumanitary missions should be sent in to force goverments to respect human rights, rather then sending over gun merchants. how can we tolerate that a country will give somebody capital punishment because of what he thinks, if what he thinks is wrong then explain what is right, but the problem is that most of the time in these supressed countries what the person said/thinks is usually right. So what should be done about Bin Laden, first the taliban gov. should be flooded with troups, and a new gov which respects human rights put in place, Bin laden would then probably run to an over country where the gov. supports him, so do the same there etc... until he and other terrorists like him have no were to hide, then make him shoot himself in the head.

About religion: just a short note about Muslims, since Bin laden uses the Koran text to justify what he does, well remember catholics, they did the same for thousands of years, according to christianity, women only got a soul a couple of hundred years back, and black people, only 50 or so! Religion is a form of escapism for those who need it, it's neither good nor bad, but fanatics will always come and pevert it to their cause, luckily for me I don't need religion so can't be mislead by it... I listen to my heart!

Subject: OS: Ace Trump

I think that Ace Trump does a fuckin' excellent job as Motorhead's cyber-connection. Anyone that says otherwise has no conception of what he's really trying to do here. Now that I have my own website domain, located at http://www.themastersunderground.com I understand just how hard this shit really is. My website doesn't even look remotely professional, and I have had to put in countless hours of tedious work just to get it the way that it is. I can only imagine how hard it must be to put something together that looks so slick and professional as the Motorhead site does. The hours of tedium that must be put into it have to be staggering. The fact that Ace has another real job on top of that makes me amazed that he can ever find the necessary time to do it at all. So it isn't updated every week or whatever, big fuckin' deal. All this shit about no new interviews is much ado about nothing. For years here in America, it was very hard to ever get any information about Motorhead at all. There was that stupid fuckin' phone line thing where Lemmy read some shit of of a piece of paper that was updated like twice, and that was the best there ever was. So as long as you didn't hear anything about Lemmy dying or any such shit, you always knew that you'd hear from him when there was something going in Motorheadland, no matter if there was anything in the media or not. When they have something to really say, the band shall say it, they have for over 25 fuckin' years now. Who really wants to read interviews where nothing is said anyway? I don't need to see a website update every time that Lemmy scores with a chick or goes drinking or whatever, it would be like reading the same thing over and over again. So anyone that thinks that Ace is being used by the band is sadly mistaken. He's doing them a great service and I am sure that they are very appreciative of that, even if they don't really understand the Internet. The important part is that they have someone that does in their organization, and that's Ace Trump.
I went back to that bramblebush Ron Jeremy's website to see if he may have put a picture of him with Lemmy up there yet, but it was still the same sad fuckin' parade of has beens and never weres and losers and dorks as before. I wanted to e-mail Jeremy and tell him that he needed to rectify this situation, but you can't send the fucker an e-mail, maybe if you're a paid memeber of his site you can, but otherwise no. Fuck him. He's a fuckin' wimp anyway. I have a fuckin' website and I have all sorts of words and pictures of Lemmy on there and I don't even know the guy. Ron Jeremy has been metioned on how many of the last few Motorhead releases? He has 0 Lemmy pictures at his site. I have not ever been mentioned on one fuckin' release, and I have all sorts of shit about Lemmy on mine. If I can do it, why can't he? Because he's a motherfuckin' pussy poser that just wants to get publicity by being tied in with anything that he can, that's why. My fuckin' site blows his away anyhow, and I don't even charge money to see mine. I freely admit that the Motorhead content that I have is a big part of the reason how I can get a site like that known worldwide, and I am very grateful for it, because it makes all that tedious shit worth it. That fucker Ron Jeremy just wants to promote himself and his bullshit with a certain crowd by being associated with Motorhead. Fuck that. If he needs to be a fuckin' parasite, that's his problem. I have better things to do, such as piss off many people by some of the other shit that I do on my site. I do have one last question. If your name really is Ace Trump, are you related to Donald Trump, and do you get those hot young chicks like he does?
Salutations In Excelsior,
Michael Mc Intyre

**Ace: First of all , thanks for the kind words. I truly love doing the website and the OS list and the band knows and appreciated my work very much! They treat me like family... I read Lemmy's reaction to what happened in America recently and I agree with what he said. He sings so much about war anyway. If he was at war then what kind of involvement do we think he will like? Is he the kind to want to strategise the attacks from an office or would he prefer to be in the front-line. the Eat The Gun song is about being a grunt on the battlefield.

Subject: OS: Lemmy's Words

I was very interested to see what Lemmy had to say about the events of September 11th. His words about feeling like an adopted American were most interesting. I wonder if Lemmy realizes just how much America and its people were manipulated and taken advantage of to make this horrible shit happen.
All across America now, we are hearing all this shit about how we must band together and are all brothers and all that shit. They say that everything has changed here now. I hope that extends to the ridiculous efforts of some in America to go about saying how bad someone like Lemmy is and trying to keep people away from Motorhead and Lemmy and all that fuckin' nonsense. He's been coming here since 1973, and the American Establishment has been talking shit about him to the masses ever since. The fact of the matter is this: Lemmy went and started Motorhead in 1975. Since then, he has basically conquered the entire fuckin' world in its name. These terrorist fucks say that they have adherents in 60 countries, I am sure that Motorhead does way better than that. In conquering the world like that, Motorhead or Lemmy have never, ever harmed one fuckin' hair on anyone's head, no matter what some hysterics may think. This Bin Laden shithead and his dorky followewrs don't even have 1 fuckin' Motorhead CD, LP, cassette, poster, patch, picture, bootleg, t-shirt, tattoo, guitar tab, or anything else among all of their worthless asses. They don't even know what Motorhead fuckin' means. Look what they did in their megalomanical attempt to conquer the world. Which one of these world conquering ways is worse?
After all of this, anyone, especially in America, that goes around saying that Motorhead is evil, destructive, mind-warping, Communist, or anything like that needs to just stay the fuck away from electricity, automotive and railroad right-of-ways, large bodies of water, firearms, fireworks, and fire in general, for their fuckin' inepitude is a clear and present danger to not just themselves, but others as well, as we saw all too well on Sep. 11th. If attitudes like this are not dismissed in America faster than the truthfulness of a Miss Cleo prediction, Americans shall not be singing that great Kate Smith classic "God Bless America", but they shall be singing a refrain that Lemmy wrote for his hippie friends back in 1972. I refer to that far-out and freaky Hawkwind opus Doremi Fasol Latido, which contains the original version of The Watcher , in which Lemmy sings the refrain " This is the end now....This is the end now...This is the end now....This is the ennnnndddd."

Dear Ace could you please tell all of us MOTORHEAD fans when Lemmy's book is to be released on a totally unsuspecting world? I and many others would deeply appreciate it. THANKS gonzron

**Ace: The last time I asked Lemmy about it, he said that they had run into all kinds of trouble with the editor. In short, I do not know when (or if) it will be released... but I wouldn't hold my breathe.

Ace,being a subscriber to OS for about a year i am a little disappointed to find that the OSs since September 10 have not come. Is it because they haven't reached 35 or 50k, or because you haven't gotten around to it in wake of the terrorist attacks? I need to know because "no news is bad news". Other than that keep up the fine work.

**Ace: I got caught up inthe tour with Motorhead and let the newsletter slide. Things should be back to normal now... :-)

Hey Ace!
Visited the Motorhead guestbook. You should too! Since it?s misused by some poor guy I think you should shut it down... Not that I?m offended by him (or her), I shit bigger turds than him, but I don?t see the point in having it since almost none of Motorheads fans use it...

Best Regards

Motorhead is marking its 25th anniversary with a brief tour of the West Coast that kicks off on Thursday night (9/27) in Seattle. The group is also re-releasing a dozen of its albums, putting together an anniversary DVD and making a high-profile television appearance.

Throughout the fall, Sanctuary Records Group's imprint label Metal-Is Records will be re-releasing digitally remastered versions of Motorhead's "All the Aces," "No Remorse," "Ace of Spades," "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith," "Bomber," "Iron Fist," "Overkill," "Another Perfect Day," "Orgasmatron," "Rock 'N' Roll," "No Sleep At All" and "The Chase Is Better than the Catch (The Singles A's & B's)." Each album will contain bonus tracks not featured on the original version, according to Sanctuary.

The band is also putting together a 25th anniversary DVD titled "Live at the Brighton Academy," which is slated to feature guest performances from Brian May (Queen), Fast Eddie Clark (ex-Motorhead), Whitfield Crane (Life of Agony) and Doro Pesch (Doro, Warlock), according to a press release.

On Monday (9/24), Motorhead participated in the filming of the Oct. 24 episode of "The Drew Carey Show," according to the group's publicist.

Motorhead's most recent release of all-new material is May 2000's "We Are Motorhead." The two-disc "The Best of Motorhead" followed last September, and the group is at work on a new album that is expected in the spring of 2002.

I'm thinking of getting a Motorhead tat. I'm looking for the clearest picture/drawing I can get of the classic snaggletooth/motorskull logo. Most don't have the detail I would want. I think the leather edition of No Remorse had nice detail, but alas I sold it. Any help would be appreciated. PETE

My Arca Max today In Music History for today has birthdays listed for the likes of Carlo Mastrangelo (huh?), Steve Miller ( GAG!!), B..W. Stephenson ( who the fuck?), Brian Johnson, Bob Geldof ( yuck!), and it also says that Fast Eddie Clarke was born on this day in 1950. This is the only today in whatever thing that I got today that mentioned this at all. At least he still gets mentioned somewhere.

Hi Ace,

For all Motoerhead Bangers

A quote from one of my favorite author, which I think quite appropriate for the times we live in right now:
As long as war is regarded as wicked, it will always have its fascination. When it is looked upon as vulgar, it will cease to be popular.
(The Critic as Artist) Oscar Wilde.

A good site full of his quotes and by others too ( button at the bottom of the page.
