Open letter to 'Dick' Percival in reply to his valuable comments in the last OS. Can I suggest that if you don't have the time to download a web page, as you complain, then you cannot criticize the band or Ace for not having time to answer questions as often as it would suit you!! They are obviously much busier than you are!! And as you call them 'miserable bastards' I hope they never answer a question of yours.
Oh, and spending money to go see a band is what you do when you like them. It doesn't entitle you to anything, except perhaps a good night out! Has anyone ever paid to come see you??

As for your opinion - I'll quote your own line "what a load of bollocks it is" Motorhead are more important than you.

Shelly Bruce wanted to know about a song from The Decline of Western Civilization Part 2 video. The song is "Cradle to the grave". It's on the soundtrack to Decline of Western Civilization Part 2 if you can find it. You will have to look around second hand CD stores on the net, http://gemm.com and http://www.musicstack.com are good sites for searching several sellers at the same time.

I think that Sarmad is wrong for 2 reasons:

1/ Before or during transports, Motrhead have lots of time to answer a couple of questions and then after webmaster can put them on-line. I'm not talking to answer all questions but i think that for some it's possible.

2/ If they don't want to answer question since 2 years, then they simply have to close this part of the website to no despite their fans.

All the best

With All the Motorhead compilations about you'd have thought someone would have put all the B sides on one cd what a fantastic cd with the likes of City Kids. Just Cause you got the power. Under the Knife Too Late Too Late . The list goes on and on even if I say so myself what a cracking idea for an album

Greetings Ace -

First, compliments on the website and mailing list...despite your detractors, you do a great job! Second - any news of east coast dates, specifically NY? (I know they always make it here, but I have a friend who's never seen Motorhead live, and I'm dying to take him). I saw them at Irving Plaza in '96 and they ripped the roof off!

**Ace: It seems unlikely that the band will do more then these West Coast gigs this year... but I have been wrong before.

Answer to the question from shellybruce@earthlink.net:

The song in Decline Of the Western Civilisation is called Cradle To The Grave and was on the B-side of the Eat The Rich 7" and 12" singles released in 1987. The 12" single (EP) featured the awesome track Just Cos You Got The Power as well. With any luck, these songs are available on recent reissues of the Rock 'N' Roll album (that featured Eat The Rich) or some of all the crappy compilations that have been released over the last ten years.

Dear One and All

In the same way as a spoilt child is ungrateful for what is given, people will always want more than what you can deliver. Ace performs a valuable and FREE service to us all.
If the band are too busy to answer the questions (Most of which don't seem worth the hassle anyway) and if Ace is busy earning money to put food on his table to chase the questions and if the site isn't updated on a weekly basis because of time and work
Then the only answer can be "Can you do better ?"

personally I think that Ace is taken for a ride by Motorheads management, they don't pay him and yet get a free marketing tool. But then I don't especially rate the job that Singerman et al do marketing wise anyway.

I would suggest that if fans want the questions answered and they want web site updates then they call Singerman and Co and chew their asses off about it. The address will be on the CD label. They get paid to deal with the gripes

best wishes

I'm making my own MH page, so far I have only got lyrics for some of the records. I would really like to have the complete lyrics to the following albums: Ace of Spades, Orgasmatron and 1916. I would be happy if someone could send me these lyrics, if you have them.

By the way, don't forget to vote for the best Motrhead-song from the latest MH-album: We are Motrhead, go here: http://www.angelfire.com/rock/sven/motorhead.htm

have a good time!

The Motorhead song in the intro is: "Cradle To The Grave", one of the two B-Sides to the "Eat The Rich" single, the other being "Just 'Cos You Got The Power". "Cradle To The Grave" is available on most reissues of the "Rock 'N' Roll" album. Better than the rest of "Rock 'N' Roll" in my opinion, which is quite ironic.

Hi Ace and MHBs

Here's a quick one for Shelly Bruce, Hi Shelly! - that MH track in the intro to that program is called "Cradle To The Grave" and as far as I remember it's the B side to the Eat The Rich single (someone please correct me if wrong) and it is a TOTAL killer i'nt it? I've only got it on an old tape so I wouldn't mind getting hold of a decent copy of it.

I had a nice surprise last week. I dug out some old Motorheadbangers fanzines and news letters which I thought were lost in the Ozone of house moves and clear-outs of many years but bloody hell! Like long lost friends. I've even got my membership card and a succession of certificates with different pictures as the line up changed.

They go back to Nov. 1981 (when Philthy's sister Helen ran the club and I was 16 - woah!) and they in 1986 just as Orgasmatron was about to come out. I stopped subscribing 'cos I was skint and then my life drifted elsewhere for a few years and I never got around to it until recently - fool!

When I first joined I was MHB no. 6025. When The Guru Alan Burridge started it up again I rejoined and became no. 50! Now I've rejoined and I'm back to 2068.

I'm going to write to Alan telling him I'd like to scan them all and put them on a web page cos I'd really like to share them.

Ah hell I'm off now. Keep it nasty!

MHB 2068

PS Sarmad, get well soon or else!

Subject: snaggletooth masks

I have a question for the group. Anybody know if there are any Snaggletooth masks? With Halloween coming up, that would be a cool item. If there aren't any, has anybody ever seen a skull mask that resembles Snaggletooth? The chains could always be added alter. Ace - Has there ever been an official item like this?

Now for a change of subject. Give Ace and the band a break about the questions! How many bands have been around this long and still have something to say? Motorhead still makes great records and tours all over. That's what I want. If they actually got a bit more involved with the web site that would be nice but I don't want it to take away from what they do best. Imagine Lemmy getting fat sitting in front of his computer all day buying and selling militaria on ebay! They don't need to be online all the time telling us how great they were. Instead they're making music and doing concerts to show us how great they ARE! "We are the future baby, used to be the past."

Most people who have been in the business this long are dead, retired or in oldies bands. Oldies bands is the level of hell for musicians who ran out of inspiration but want money. Oldies bands are the best argument for euthanasia. The Eagles should be sealed in acrylic and sent to the rock & roll museum. OTOH, look at Motorhead. I think "We are Motorhead" is one of their better albums. I'm really looking forward to their new record.

All I can say in closing is - "Don't forget Colorado next year!

Subject: os: twisted tribute

Everyone should check out the new tribute album to Twisted Sister as MH does a killer remdition of "Shoot Em Down". =I have been hearing this song everyday on the local college radio station; they must really like it too. =I have also heard rumors of a possible tour with the amazin Manowar. =Is this true????

It would be great as they toured together once or twice before about 10 years ago. =I saw them at the Ritz (now Webster Hall) in NYC. =Manowar opened up and there were about 7000 people there. =It was a great venue. =I remeber Lemmy announcing and pointing out several people in the crowd including "Wattie" from the punk band the Exploited (he was hangin with two mohawked near topless gals with there feet hangin over the balconies), Henry Rollins, Rob Halford and Joey Ramone.

I also remerber they debuted a great song called "Just cos you got the power". =This song only appeared on a live album shortly thereafter (probably 1989-90) called "No Sleep at All".

I cant wait for the next album and hopefully video and hopefully some airplay since there seems to be renewed intersts here in the States for real metal and there seems to be an unusual especial =interest in MH (maybe because ofthe Game thing)...
