Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

Hello once again. Something has been on my mind for a while now and I think it is time that I dispel a few rumours and myths that occasionally confront me. Over the years of working with the Motorhead organization, I have been asked many strange questions and queried about some strange ideas that float around the fan base. So, heres the poop...

First of all, my name really, truly is Ace Trump.

Secondly, my "day" job is working for a company called Bravado International Group. This is a music merchandising and licensing company that handles bands like Bon Jovi, Judas Preist, Depeche Mode, Iron Maiden, The Who, Plant/Page, and many, many more including Motorhead. It is amung my responsibilities to make sure that shirts/merchandise are available at every show for sale. I also sell official Motorhead merchandise through the website. Each and every piece of merchandise that I sell is an "official" Motorhead product. This means that the image/item was approved by Lemmy himself or the band's management and it is manufactured by the official Motorhead merchandising company, Bravado International Group. None of the items that I sell are bootlegs or unapproved items. That is the way it is now and it is the way it shall always be. The prices for the merchandise are set at the same rates as you pay at the venues when you see the band live.

Third, no, I do not get paid for the work I do on the website or on the Overnight Sensation mailing list. But, the band allows me to use the profits I get from the merchandise sales to offset the costs of running the website. CMC Records International also gets me the CDs that are offered on the website. Add to that the stellar efforts of Bernd Klooss and his organization and the website hosting they have donated, we all get to enjoy the website under these parameters. I really, really want to thanks Bernd and his mates for all of thier effort, patience and expense in helping with the Motorhead website. If you ever run into him at a show, I hope you will buy him a beer... he is a big part as to why the website runs as smooth as it does.

Fourth, for all of the reasons above, the website gets updated when I have the time. In a business that is dependant on the concert/touring industry, summer is always the craziest time. But, the winter is always quieter. So, in the summer you will not see many new additions to the website. I do make an effort to post important news and keep tour dates up-to-date, but other additions need to wait until the off season. I will be adding stuff throughout the winter... keep watching.

Fifth, as far as the bands input/involvement, they do what they can. The majority of it rests on my shoulders. It is also my responsibility to give them a jab in the ribs when I need answers. But, in all reality, they do it when and only when they have the time. I think that those people that complain about such things had better take a step back and think about how many bands of the cailber and status of Motorhead would take ANY time to answer fan questions. Not to many.

Sixth, no, Lemmy, Mikkey and Phil do not have email address that you can write to.

Well, I want to thank all of you for giving me the chance to set some of the record straight. Working on this website/mailing list has been one of the funnest and most fulfilling experiences of my life. It is all possible only because of each and every one of you. Thank you again.

As some of you know, there have been some cancellations of festivals in Europe due to health concerns. Here is an up-to-date tour date list:

09/30/01 San Francisco, CA Great American Music Hall
10/03/01 Los Angeles, CA House of Blues Sunset
10/04/01 Anahiem, CA House of Blues

11/02/01 Johannesburg, South Africa Standard Bank Arena
11/03/01 Johannesburg, South Africa Standard Bank Arena
11/06/01 Cape Town, South Africa Arts
11/07/01 Cape Town, South Africa Arts
11/09/01 Durban, South Africa Kingspark Outerfield
11/17/01 Greece TBA
11/18/01 Greece TBA

This is still the best way for OS members to find each other at gigs. If you see someone wearing one of these shirts, it is a sure bet that they are a fellow OS member. Still a few left. If you want projects like this in the future, please support the effort and buy one. To order one (or several as many of you did last time), please go to http://www.imotorhead.com/tshirt2000.htm

Have an awesome week!

Yo, pass this on to Lemmy and the boys. Make damn fucking sure Motorhead does Florida on the upcoming tour. Plenty of dingy bars to plug into. I=STRONGLY suggest they plan=a southeast USA tour between October and the end of February. Leather is do-able during those months. I'd puke if I saw a club full of Motorhead fans in shorts and tank tops, in the middle of frikkin' July!!!
Tell them to SERIOUSLY look into doing a show in Gainesville, FL. It would never be forgotten.

My friend got to hold Lemmy's bass years ago. Said=case and strap reeked of vomit and beer! COOL!
Can anyone confirm or deny this oderiferous claim?!?

Hope you sonsabitches see the light...

Ace I got the coupon everybody is talking about at The Chicago House of Blues show in June of 2000. I sent in my $2.00 and got the picture along with info on how to buy 50 other pictuers from that tour. I sent that in along with the $50.00 or so and got those as well so I think some people got the pictures and some did not. Any how I've got about 51 legit 5 x 7's from the US tour 2000 and their are a lot of good one's.

Well, my experience about the $2.00 pics. is that I received a photo of Motorhead in the mail and it sits on my dresser. It has Phil and Lemmy on stage. But not at the show that I had asked for because, it asks (as it would be from the show you attended) "what show did you attend?" And the clothing doesn't match the show that I attended.=

Now hearing everyone else's stories I'm happier now that I had received a photo after all!

I'm from Birmingham in England and have been a Motorhead fan for about 5 years and love it. I was at Wolverhampton in May and it was overwhelming to have the boys back in town after 3 years.

I must admit I've never been a member of these Motorhead email lists until recently but I always enjoyed reading those digests forwarded to me by friends. The websites out there are really good and I was just now doing my usual rounds of checking them out. Can someone please tell me what happened to Sarmad? A pop-up message on his site talks about a long illness making him unable to continue until further notice. How bad is it? I got no reply yet when I emailed him recently. His 25th Anniversary review is one of the best I've read and I really like the animated menu he made for it. The new DVD should copy his idea. What UK gigs did he do this year in May because I'd like to see his usual coverage on his web site for the last tour? Sarmad, if you are reading this, get well soon!

And talking about the DVD, when will it come out?

>I attended an AC/DC concert in New York in May, 2001. They gave out similar "Concert Photo" coupons to
>everyone who entered. Same concept: send $2.00 or six postage stamps and get a picture from that show.
>I received a picture in July (about two months later), postmarked from France. A good photo of Angus and
>Brian. Well worth it. I can't vouch for the Motorhead coupons, but at least in my case with AC/DC, it did work.

I got emails from three or four other people who never received ANYTHING. One person did, however, so who knows? I'm just glad it was only two bucks! But I wonder how many "two bucks" there were? Hundreds? Thousands?!

Is there any internet review of this year's England tour especially the Wolves concert I was at? I also saw Wacken Open Air in Germany this month and the festival spirit made me drunk and ill and I forgot most of it! Who else went there? They used the bomber lights again like 25th Anniversary. Will these lights be a regular thing for Motorhead? i couldn't recognise the special guests performing with MH. If any one know where I can find online reviews with pictures of MH's Wolves and Wacken shows then please reply.

Subject: os: that pauly fella's right/let mikkey get questions

As much as i respect and adore Motorhead for kicking my ass these past 10 years i hate to say it but they are maybe getting a bit smug about where they are. I mean for Phil Campbell to only answer a piddly 5 questions since April is a little lazy. I really think they ahould get down and keep us fans informed cause, as you said Ace "no news is bad news". And why doesn't Mikkey Dee get any questions? I scoured the "Ask Motorhead" and found that Lem and Phil got questions. Why not Mikkey? He's just as important as the other two asskickers. It seems to me that maybe he is the least respected band member or the least worth asking a thing or two. If nobody's asking then i'd be happy too seeing as both he and i share the common denominator of being Greek.

Other than that keep up the great work and i wish all the best to you and all the others involved in the Motorhead juggernaut.

Keep rockin'

I'm writing from Turkey. For so long years, I've waited for Motrhead to come to Turkey for a concert. They didn't. And I think they won't. In this situation, I have to go to Greece I think. I live in Izmir and Athens is very close to here.
But Ace, I really need your help. Where will be the concerts be? Athens in both nights??? In which place (concert saloon etc.) they'll be? And how can I buy the tickets??? Help me please, I really want to see Motrhead.

I've just downloaded Motorhead playing Enter Sandman and AC/DC's It's a long Way to the Top, from Audio Gallaxy.

Anyone know when these rarities were recorded, and whether the boys have any other good covers out there (apart from the album ones)?

Anyone else think a forum on the official site would be nice? Every other site seems to have one.

The good news to all those in the UK is that the awaited TV series 'Roadies' starts next week. UK Horizons Monday 11.30pm. I believe 12 x 30 minute programmes all about...... Roadies!!!! Much of it filmed on the last Motorhead tour in the UK back in May. Most, if not all, of the 'head crew will be featured, theme tune should be 'We Are The R C...' , and the band I think get in on the act too!!! Be warned though - it's not ALL about Motorhead I don't think.

Hi all,

Oh dear, it seems that Pauly's email on OS #129 will launch a barrage of flames hitting back at his comment regarding the band's lack of response on "Motorhead Speaks". I suppose a lot of OS subscribers would have already replied by now, but here's my 2 cents worth...

If you look at last year especially, the band have been awefully busy touring the world. So while they're travelling and unable to answer fans' questions for the Website, at least that's because they're doing something else forus - playing gigs! Touring at that extent with hardly a day-off demands a lot of time and energy. And whenever they have that rare time-off, you can bet any normal human being would rather spend it on quality time with family, having a decent rest, having time to do something of their own choice that's unrelated to work, etc. Lemmy's illness in Winter last year just shows what a busy tour can do to someone. I spoke to a roadie in September last year. That was during a long one-or-two month break Motorhead were having between the European Summer festivals and Japanese tours. And even in that long break, the roadie told me that he was still exhausted from the tour-leg just passed.

So I'm not surprised if Motorhead didn't have time to answer fans' questions over the last two years, given the tight schedules they already had doing press interviews and gigs - for us.

Subject: can't find a certain song

I was watching the decline of western civilization part 2, and a killer Motorhead song came on at the intro of the video. I don't remember the name of the song but the lyrics went, "We've been living on the razor's edge." I have gotten all of the Motorhead albums that I can find and I have not found that song. Please tell me what album this song is on and how I can get it.

P.S. Please play We are the road crew and Overnight sensation when you come back to Atlanta.
