Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

No real new news to report this week. There is a lot of excitement abot the new album. The band has taken more time then usual to work out the tracks and all reports make it one of the best efforts to date. I will give you more reports as I get them.

Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS) has revealed info on the guests on his PROBOT side project. 'Dictatorsaurus' features Snake (VOIVOD), 'Access Babylon' features Mike Dean (COC), 'Sweet Dreams' features KING DIAMOND and 'Ice Cold Man' features Lee Dorrian (NAPALM DEATH, CATHEDRAL). Other guests appearing on the album include: VENOM's Cronos, Wino (THE OBSESSED, SPIRIT CARAVAN), Kim Thayil (SOUNDGARDEN), Max Cavalera (SEPULTURA, SOULFLY), Lemmy (MOTORHEAD), Tom Araya (SLAYER), Phil Anselmo (PANTERA) and Eric Wagner (TROUBLE). The album's artwork is being done by Voivod drummer Away.

As some of you know, there have been some cancellations of festivals in Europe due to health concerns. Here is an up-to-date tour date list:

09/30/01 San Francisco, CA Great American Music Hall
10/03/01 Los Angeles, CA House of Blues Sunset
10/04/01 Anahiem, CA House of Blues

11/03/01 Johannesburg, South Africa Standard Bank Arena

11/07/01 Cape Town, South Africa Arts
11/09/01 Durban, South Africa Kingspark Outerfield
11/17/01 Greece TBA
11/18/01 Greece TBA

This is still the best way for OS members to find each other at gigs. If you see someone wearing one of these shirts, it is a sure bet that they are a fellow OS member. Still a few left. If you want projects like this in the future, please support the effort and buy one. To order one (or several as many of you did last time), please go to http://www.imotorhead.com/tshirt2000.htm

Have an awesome week!

"Also returned to the band is bass player, Ali Davey (formerly Alan Davey).Ali, like Huw Lloyd Langton is a long standing member, serving over 14 years in the band.

Their next epic project will be,` Destruction of The Death Generator' written in conjunction with Michael Moorcock. They will be writing all the material over the Christmas and New Year period, to be recorded next spring. Following rehearsals of the stage show the band will tour late summer. Line up will be the current nucleus with past members who have featured in the band during the past 30 years. Similar to last year's highly successful `Hawkestra' event at the Brixton Academy, which brought together at least 20 former members of the band including `Lemmy'.

What Hawkwind are and have always been is an underground rock show- band, merging electronic sounds with amazing light shows, dancers, fire-eaters, theatrics and brilliant musicianship. Their historyspeaks for itself. They have been on the road since 1969.

The current nucleus is Dave Brock (vocals, guitar, keyboards, sequencers), Ali Davey (bass), Hugh Lloyd- Langton (vocals, lead guitar), Richard Chadwick (drums), and Gerry Richards (lead guitar) with guests, Simon House (electric violin) Keith Kniverton (keyboards, synth & sequencers) and Tim Blake (keyboards, synth & sequencers) and Ron Tree (lead vocals)."

Hi - Saw Motorhead at the Manchester Apollo this year. What an amazing gig!!!! It was the second time I had tickets to a MOTORHEAD concert, but the first time I got to one. The reason.....

Once upon a long ago, probobably avout 82 or 83, my flatmate at college and I had tickets for the band. Arriving early, Preston I think, we wandred into the local hostelry. Up to the bar, "2 pints of bitter please, landlord" or words to that effect. Look to the right, spot somebody at the bar, speak to them, "Fancy a drink lemmy??" (silly question, I know). "Vodka, large" came the voice. So, I bought him one. Paid for ours, paid for his, started to take a drink of our pints, then, "Wanna drink?" "Er, alright, then" "3 vodkas, large" said the voice.
We accepted the offer of drinks, they were poured, we were given them, and the voice said......
"Wanna drink?"
And so on and so forth.

Apparently we were tipped out of a taxi in front of my flatmates sisters house sometime later, but comfortably before the concert was due to start. We didn't know much about this, or the following day. Lemmy played a blinder, so we were told!"!!

Lemmy is a true alcohol god, but, perhaps, not the best role model for young and impressionable student types like Tom and myself. It's nice to say that I finally saw the band, and that even almost 20 years on, they were as good as I had wanted them to be all those years ago. Roll on a new album, and a chance to completely screw up my hearing once more.

Philip (aged 38, and still wanting it louder) (and with a 6 year old daughter who likes the GRATFEUL DEAD and BOB DYLAN, and used to headbang to OVERKILL when she was 3)

Pretty informative man...
I would have to say "Orgasmatron" is the best Motorhead song ever! I was possessed by this song, in the back of a '48 ford at the age of 19. Saw them live at "One Step Beyond", Santa Clara, CA, 04/28/87. "Sea Hags" opened, and the middle support slot was... Can anybody out there tell me who was with them that dark night in April, 1987?

Amyhoo...I've got a Motorhead England shirt I picked up=on the Operation Rock & Roll tour. It's too frikkin' small now. Where can I get another. Preferably, XL & black?

With a mental age of ten...
Doctor Rock

This is directed to Tim Shockley, who wondered if anyone else had been suckered by Fan Association.

I attended an AC/DC concert in New York in May, 2001. They gave out similar "Concert Photo" coupons to everyone who entered. Same concept: send $2.00 or six postage stamps and get a picture from that show.

I received a picture in July (about two months later), postmarked from France. A good photo of Angus and Brian. Well worth it.

I can't vouch for the Motorhead coupons, but at least in my case with AC/DC, it did work.

(I sent them a $2.00 check instead of the stamps. Since postage had recently gone up to 34 cents -- 6 x $0.34 = $2.04 -- I shafted them out of 4 cents!!!)

- Kenmac502@aol.com said that he thought that MD is one of the best albums ever. I must agree with him, along with "Another perfect day" it's the most underrated Motrheadalbum ever! Both albums are bloody good but according to old Motrfans less albums and all that shit... One thing that most of the Kilmister-Clarke-Taylor fans seems to forget is that neither of Clarke or Taylor is a original member. Lucas Fox And Larry Wallis is the first line-up. And as Lemmy said every line-up is a classic!

Subject: os : answer for santy (motrhead - on parole)

Hello Santy,
to answer your question : No, the album Motrhead and the album On parole are not the same one. Of course there are common titles but often these titles are played in two different versions. Except for City Kids as all the titles of the album Motrhead which would have been taken again directly of recording of On parole. Then on the album Motrhead you will find:

Lost Johnny
Iron Horse / Born to lose
White line fever
Keep us on the road
The Watcher
The train kept a rollin
City Kids
Beer drinker
On parole
I-m your witch doctor

On the album On parole :

On parole
Iron Horse
City kids
The watcher
Leaving here
Lost Johnny
As well as the no-claims bonus track on the new pressing of the versions different from:
On parole
City kids
Leaving here

Besides that, personally I find that they are two excellent albums of Motrhead. Moreover, that is worth the sorrow to have On parole would be this only because it-s the only album of the line-up Kilmister / Fox / Wallis!!! I hope that I-ve answered your question?!!!

will there be any tours in Arizona? do u know Motorheads next cd, after We Are Motorhead? and do u know about the band Pure Rubbish? i heard that Motorhead took them on tour with them and Lemmy gave them a record deal, do u know anything more about that? thanks ======

**Ace: There will be no US tour this year. It will come after the release of the new studio album next year. As far as Pure Rubbish go, they are a killer new band that I saw on the Ozzfest this summer. Their only relationship to Motorhead (that I knowe of) os that they both have the same managers.

it.==I have been a motorhead fan since I was about 13 or 14 (I'm in my 30's now). For Christmas that year my (still young) parents bought me the On Parole album. My Dad, bless him, has always been a little straitlaced so I think it was very good of him to buy me something that he knew he wouldn't like. When the song Vibrator came on you can imagine his face - one of those never forgotten moments (to his credit he never said a word). Years later I thought my now ex-hubby had lent the album to one of his friends and that I had lost it for good. Mum has just rung me to say that she has been clearing out the attic and has found=it, safe and sound. I am dancing round the office and jumping up and down for joy - all my work colleagues think I am a bit strange but I don't care - they are all into soul and dance music and have no taste.&nb! sp; I know I could have bought the album again (and probably will get the cd eventually) but I am so pleased that I have got my original album back.

(Happy in London)

Are you aware that since Jan. 2000, those turkeys in the band have answered a disgraceful total of FIVE questions to their fans on your site?

What the fuck gives? Can you who runs the site not get THE WHOLE BAND (not just Phil Fucking Campbell) to sit down and answer some questions? We, the fans, like to HEAR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY! IT'S FUN AND INTERESTING TO US!

Why do you have that part of the web page up at all? It's one of the major headlines on the front page - MOTORHEAD SPEAKS!

It's bullshit. As cool as Motorhead are, that part of the site just goes to show that they are another bunch of self-absorbed rock stars who couldn't give a piss about responding to queries from fans who have loved and supported them all of these years.

Would you get on their asses and bring this to their attention, please? It doesn't take much effort on their part, and I, among others, would certainly appreciate a little more interaction with the band than having Phil Bloody Campbell answer five fucking questions in two years time!

There. I feel better now.

- Pauly
