Just thought I'd pass on some graphical trivia about an Aussie band; Magic Dirt, whose latest release "What Are Rock Stars Doing Today" has the band shown on the CD cover, with the drummer wearing a loud & proud Motorhead T-shirt. They play a range of hard rock, etc. but none of their bios indicates that Motorhead is an influence. Obviously MH has influenced them enough to have them displauyed on the cover of their CD.

Here's Catherine writing from France.
I was just reading your newsletter and I worry because you write that some gigs might be cancelled. I just saw Motrhead at the Graspop festival in Belgium- It was excellent! We're also going to Wacken-so keep me informed if there is any cancellation.

I'm =also looking for Motrhead belt buckle. If you could help me with this!

OK-Take care.....

Dunno whereabouts you are living in the UK, but in Leicester & Cambridge even the local HMV & whatever tend to stock it. If you are out in the country I suggest Amazon, they are quite good and about the same price for it to be delivered to your door. (although being hells henchman you most likely have a portal of doom or somesuch)

You will have to be persistent, I bought the boxed set copy of W.A.M and it took a good 15 minutes of convincing several spotty little shop boys that : yes it was out ! and as they had the box, they had the CD to go in it.

On another note to one and all

The Kitkat advert with Lemmy playing the violin has been on loads, all good exposure except that I don't think that the majority of the Spice Girl & Boyzone generation know who it is.

lets open another debate: the best advert with Motorhead in it candidates include:
Axa equity & law: lemmy does pensions etc on the phone
Pot Noodle: mad advert with ace of spades backing
Kitkat : lemmy plays the classics
and there was one with built for speed as the sound track but I forget what it was advertising.

any others I have missed ?

all the best

In the latest issue of the norwegian version of the magazine Larsons, there is a comic strip (Nr 14, by Tor rling) where this guy is playiing Ace of Spades really loud, bothering the hell out of his neighbours :) Way cool (i don't talk like this, but I like to bend the rules)! In another issue there is one (don't remember by who) where we see a door with the writing: 667 Neighbourof the Beast! Another norwegian cartoon strip which often referes to i.e. Alice Cooper and Black sabbath is Nemi by Lise. My favourite! i've read that it will be publishhed in german, but i'm not sure yet...

Dear all,

Majister Dixit means something like 'Master has spoken'

I've got a couple of t-shirts with Nemo Malus Felix and Quid Me Anxius Sum written on bottom. I'm pretty sure one of them means 'None Happier or Meaner' or something like that.

Interesting to read that the Nil Illegitum Carborundum phrase that was on old Motorhead vinyl isn't a real latin phrase...

Subject: os: an episode in turkey

Greetings from sunny Turkey!

Im spending my holiday here and a couple of days ago I had pretty unusual episode Id like to share. Perhaps u will find it amusing.

Apart from sunbathing drinking and screwing I found a gym here and get my lazy butt from it from time to time.

So 2 days ago I had a training. The gym stereo was playing typical radio shit that is good only if u need to puke.

After 10 mins of that musical crap I got out my Motorhead tape with We Are Motorhead and Snakebite Love albums. I asked the owner of the gym to play my tape on the stereo and that is what he did.

It was excellent to work out with the nuclear rock n roll of Motorhead! But when I got finished and told to give me my cassete back, the coach asked me to let him keep the tape to copy it. He was especially impressed by One More Fucking Time.

What the fuck, I thought and presented my cassete to him as a gift.

This story proves that Motorhead rulz everywhere and forever! Glory to our beloved Lemmy!

Of course I miss my cassete with mighty Motorhead hymns filling my heart (and other body parts) with power, but who knows, maybe that tape turned another man into a loyal Motorhead fan!

Rock n roll!
Mike Lemster.

Hi, fellow musiclovers

I'm sad to hear that Philthy is a crack dealing bum nowadays. Most unfortunate. Somebody should organize a benefit concert for the man - Philthy-Aid - to raise money to get him a drum set and/or lots of dope. Maybe that would keep him off the streets for a while.
Just a thought.
Oh, and I hope all you Finish motorheadbangers caught the Young Ones episode featuring motorhead. It's really nice to see some culture on TV for a change, instead of all that crap that they usuallyu send.
