Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

ASK MOTORHEAD

Well, after more then a year of silence, Phil was answered a handful of questions on the website. Check them out when you get a moment.

MOTORHEADSHOP NEWS!

New Merchandise

I will be getting a bunch of new items, hopefully this week. Included will be many of the items that were offered on the European tour that was cut short due to Lemmy's illness. Keep watching!

The new belt buckles are selling like hotcakes! Obviously it really is an item that you have been wanting. It is a silver/pewter buckle that features a 3D relief of the famous "Motorhead England" image of Snaggletooth. These are $25 plus shipping and handling.

Non-Motorhead Items

Over the past year, I have managed to lay my hands on a few interesting items that I thought might interest fans of Motorhead. I have created a new section of the "Motorheadshop" that features items from the likes of Judas Priest, the Scorpions and more! Remember, all of the sales from these items go to support the website. Take a moment to have a look.

MAY MOTORHEADSHOP SPECIAL!

If you order ANYTHING from the non-Motorhead items section of the website, you can take a 20% discount on YOUR ENTIRE ORDER (including Motorhead items). This offer is EXCLUSIVELY for OS members and expires on May 31/01. Orders not post marked or received by midnight on May 31/01 will not qualify for the discount! A little thank you for all of your support.

Also available, the newest double CD greatest hits release from Motorhead in a limited edition, signed series of 50 pieces. Phil, Mikkey and Lemmy have all personally signed them and you are the first to have a go at them. They are $49 plus shipping and handling.

I have some cool girlie shirts in stock that are not on the website yet. These are all one-size-fits-all and are black with the Motorhead logo in red on the front. They are $25 plus appropriate shipping & handling (see any shirt in the Motorheadshop on the website for postage costs). Check all the stuff out at the Motorheadshop!

Subject: OS: Answers To Questions And Other Potpourri

I would like to answer the questions that John Copeland asked in issue 123. As far as Motorhead going back to being a four piece ensemble, I wouldn't mind it at all as long as there good songs written and good musicians in the band, and the live shows were as cool as ever. If you have those elements, a three piece or four piece ensemble makes no difference at all.
I seem to remember Lemmy saying shit like he feels that he is the reincarnated version of someone that lived during the Nazi regime somewhere.
He says that is why he feels such an attraction to the Nazi regalia and shit, even though he finds the ideals behind it all repugnant. He likes the pagentry and the logos of that era, I guess. I remember seeing something once where he said that he wanted the Ace Of Spades thing to be like a flag or somehting that people could follow and identify with, like that Nazi shit was in its era, but without all the poltical meanings and whatnot behind it.
However, when people see Lemmy dressed in those uniforms and shit or sitting in front of a Nazi flag that he has on the wall of his house, I can easily see how they might think that he is into that shit. There is a big difference between Lemmy wearing that shit and this fucker that I went to high school with that used to come to school ( a good Catholic school, no less) wearning those various Nazi uniforms from time to time and how he used to disseminate Nazi literatue and shit like that. That fucker was herd-core into that scene and believed in it wholehartedly. Lemmy likes that shit from a historical viewpoint. In today's Politically Correct climate ( especially in America), anyone that has anything to do with that shit at all is branded as a sympathizer, basically. If Lemmy does wear that stuff these days, I think that could harm Motorhead's career more than anything else. The true hard-core fans undertand what's behind it, but those that are not just won't be able to accept that very well these days, I am afraid. There was a bunch of Nazi shitheads that were around my neighborhood a few years back that used to use the Motorhead symbol as part of their shit. I used to go around the neighborhood writing Motorhead on various places, and I used to put the Ace Of Spades below it because I can't draw worth shit. They used to come and leave the Motorhead part alone, but cross out the Ace Of Spades and put a fuckin' swastika there instead, which pissed me off no fuckin' end. The fuckin' Pigs thought that I was into enough weird shit as it was, and I didn't want thenm to think that I was a fuckin' Nazi. Lemmy needs to think about the message that he sends when he identifies himself with that sort of shit nowadays.
This wrestling shit is really fuckiin' unbelievable man. This particular song has generated more controversy and attention than anything the band has done since the "Stand By Your Man' thing. I remember that song turned barn dances and hoedowns all across America into mass suicides when the patrons heard that version of the song. The carnage was unbelievable. In Nashville Tennessee alone, I think maybe up to 100 died from that song and what it did to them one night at the Grand Old Opry. "The Game" tune is causing as much havoc as that did, maybe even more. Whether you like the tune or not, whether you like wrestling or not, this song has many, many people around the world talking about Motorhead, and that's the main point of it all. If you think that the poser patrol is going to take over the Motorhead scene from this, I think that you should not do that methamphetamine sulphate or whatever you are partaking of because you are getting way the fuck too paranoid from it. You'll still be able to get a ticket for the next Motorhead show in your town, I am sure of that. You won't need to make like the Grateful Dead heads did in America when they got popular and put massive amounts of psychedelic drugs into the drinks of the new fans and hospitalize them because they were buying up all the tickets and the losers couldn't get in. Those types of MTV, fair-weather fans won't show up at Motorhead gigs. Most of the wrestling fans will indeed forget about Motorhead when HHH gets a new theme song, but those that are also music fans that really dug the tune and then proceeded to get into Motorhead like those kids that one dude spoke of in issue 123 will show up at the gigs and buy the CDs and shit. Those are obviously the cool people that would have been into Motorhead in the first place except that they never heard them before "The Game." The hardcore "Wrestling Is Life" crowd that has no life outside of that shit will be following whatever the WWF is telling them to follow at that time anyways. So don't worry. It is cool that people that would like Motorhead are now getting exposed to them. They are getting exposed because everyone and Ronnie Reagan are talking about Motorhead these days. That is good stuff, and the most brilliant marketing strategy that Motorhead has hit on in ages. I am not too worried about pussified posers showing up at the next Motorhead gig here and that sort of thing. I don't worry about those types of people too awful much, actually. If more people show up to see Motorhead, then they'll put the show in a bigger venue, and then it will be even cooler, because maybe we could see the Bomber lighting rig and shit like that. The posers and wimps in the wrestling crowd will be nowhere to be found, just as all posers and wimps of any crowd have never been and will never be present at a Motorhead show, for they cannot handle it and need to leave that sort of thing to those of us that can handle it.
Regards,
Mike Mc Intyre

# **Ace: I guess I could have edited it... but then we all would have been
# deprived of that witty retort! :-) Once and for all, Ian puts to rest
# that a man can be intelligent AND listen to Motorhead! WELL DONE!

# How bout putting forums for motorhead discussions on the site? I think
# there pretty easy to set up, especially if its on a seperate server.
#
# Ace: How about it folks, you want one? You got it... let me know...

I think these 2 comments go together quite nicely.

Hooray for free speech & all that; but I'm not so much in favour of trawling through pages of drivel to find useful OS posts (though #123, it has to be said, was much more sane, witty, & literate than has otherwise recently been the case: I rather enjoyed it).

Personally, I think it would be great if OS were moderated to let only informative &/or interesting posts reach us. Then the creation of a bulletin board-type forum could serve as an outlet for the drivel for those who care, while allowing the rest of us to avoid it.
Eh, that's my 2 cents, or rather, er, tuppence (I suppose), anyway.
(Or maybe ITS JUST A GAY-ASS IDEA FOR KEEPING REEL FAN'S COMENTS OUT OF OS!!!!!!!! Ho ho. Sorry.)

recently (friday the thirteenth in april) motorhead was seen on vh1 on "rockshow." I love seeing motorhead on tv because it is such a rare thing. the band they were seen with on the show, pure rubbish, are friends of mine here in houston, TX, and are a fucking great rock band who are close friends with motorhead. last year, they toured with motorhead, supersuckers, nashville pussy, and speedealer. this may, they will be playing the gig in london on the twenty fifth of may, which i believe is at the forum. The band's Glamorous Youth is due July 17 on the Priority-distributed Divine Recordings. they also are playing ozzfest here in the us and in the uk.

Today I was in class sitting at a computer, checking out your web site (by the way, great work Ace) when I hear someone behind me start singing 'The Game' and saying how good it was, and how cool it was to see Motorhead at Wrestlemaina. This guy had never heard of Motorhead before, but now because of 'The Game' he knows them and likes the song and I'm sure he's not the only one like that, so how can that be bad? When I told him about this whole discussion on the mailing list he just said, 'Who cares? Its a good song and they rocked.' And I totally agree with him.
On a side note I also saw someone on MTV wearing a Motorhead shirt, and it was one of those teeny boppers trying to become a VJ. The fact that Motorhead are starting to become 'hip' as a fashion statement scares me, as these gods of rock aren't even known for their music to these people. Also on the note of Motorhead making more money. Hell they deserve to be filthy stinking rich, but to get there they'll probably have to get a larger following, and with that the pressure to become mainstream mounts, just look at what's become of Metallica, so I see everyone's concern about the issue of more money. But your forgetting one thing. Its fucking Motorhead! Do you really believe Lemmy would change his look, his music, or anything else to please some corporate cunt? He plays what he wants, and if someone likes it great, if not they can go fuck themselves, he doesn't give a shit. So give this topic a rest and keep supporting the greatest fucking rock band in the world MOTORHEAD!!!

Suzyheadbanger was spot on with her comments in OS # 123 - I completely agree with her observations over all this 'hot under the collar' business over the Motorhead wrestling song. 'In house' squabbling is a little wasteful of energy when one stops to think of all the fuckin' squares out there who oppose rock 'n' roll of any kind - never mind heavy rock. As Suzy states, 'who gives a rat's ass.' United we stand. . . so let's just:

Hi Ace and all the gang

A couple of replies to other postings first:

Dunk wants to know who's supporting at the Forum on the 25th. According to the latest Motorheadbangers World it's going to be Psycho Squad which is Phil's son, Todd Campbell's band.

Casey was asking about getting hold of CDs. You could try Okaempf@aol.com or send a wants list plus SAE/IRC to Mike stevenson,

I must reply to Tinka and Ryan Randall with this exerpt from an interview with Lemmy from Mr. Mouth's Mind Detergent (http://www.chartnet.com/columns/mouth/) which reads:
"M.I liked the part in Airheads where they asked the question, If God and Lemmy were in a wrestling match, who would win? The answer: It's a trick question because Lemmy is God.
L.That was funny and it was nice of them to do it but I've seen God on acid - he's taller (laughs)"

Just like to say a big well done to all those who paid tribute to Joey Ramone in the last OS and allow me to add my own - I just did.

Also well done to all who slated that waste-of-space-insists-on-shouting-in-capitals SodomVomit. I didn't get mine together in time so now I will say "Please keep your racism, homophobia and rediculously conceited opinions to your sad self" and then I'll happily forget him.

Anyway I'll leave on a happier note! Like I said before Lemmy's birthday gig got postponed, I'm going to the Forum on May 23rd and wondered if anyone would like to meet for a beer. A friend of mine lives in the area so I'll find out what pubs are habitable. I'm not a serial killer or anything, honest! You can even see what I look like at my bands website at http://www.geocities.com/autonomicus and decide for yourself.

That's all for now, keep it crazy!

However, I did figure out enough to see that it still fuckin' sucks and that it still doesn't have shit to do with either Lemmy or Motorhead. What the purpose of the whole fuckin' thing is, I don't know. Lemmy would still be appalled at seeing his name associated with such weak bullshit. I once again took umbrage at the whole thing, and let my feelings be known, and I strongly encourage others to do the same. This outrage should not be taken lightly. Those that disgrace the name of Lemmy should have it made known to them that this will not be ignored.

I was just checking out lemmy.org and this thing is as fucked up as the other site. This one seems to come to us from Germany or somewhere in the vicinity. You go there and you see pictures of a parakeet ( budgerigar), two cat pictures, a house, and a dude and then a chick. None of these people are Lemmy or even look remotely like him. The parakeet is probably the closest resemblance. There is a bunch of shit listed on the left part of the site, and Lemmy is one of the things there, but you hit that and you get the same shit, only it starts becoming a cube that spins around and shit. If you click on the bottom item on the left where it says "new", you see a bunch of pictures of houses . Some of these houses seem to be in a state of disrepair, looking all blown apart. I thought that these might be photos of the aftermath of a Motorhead show in some town in Germany, maybe someone can confirm or deny that. Other than that, I can see no plausible connection to either Lemmy or Motorhead on this site. It just looks like another fuckin' disgrace that further besmirches the name of Lemmy.

I sent an Email a little while ago inquiring about a fan art section, quickly thereafter feeling like a complete ass, as I found it in the picture gallery only moments after it was sent. At any rate, I really appreciated your (or at least your PR rep's) prompt reply and posting of my work. I got your "We Are Motorhead" CD, and as you might have guessed it really impressed me that Motorhead is still alive and kicking with the indesrcribable force we all love. Unfortunately, I came to appreciate your work much later than most, about a year ago, so that would make me a bit of a live Motorhaed virgin so to speak. I would definately jump (and no doubt thrash about a bit) on the chance to catch a Motorhead gig, so to make it short and sweet as this message is already much too long, I love you guys, THANKS, and, of course, come see us in the US, we still love you here too!! Couldn't you use a vacation? I live in Florida, so you could do a beach show or some off the wall stunt like that, then you could check out all the tanned beach honeys and make us all jump at the same time.So much for the short and sweet, but thanks again.

P.S...It seems that good taste, or rather maybe bad taste may be back in style, I was delighted to find one of your T-Shirts at the mall of all places, which I proptly added to my wardrobe. Anywho, please come to the US soon, I guess it really doesn't matter where, I'd travel pretty far to see you guys, but England is a little out of reach at the moment. Take care and God bless.

This was one of the worst songs of all time. I also think rap pretty much sucks, as I'm sure any one of us who subcribes to this list would. I would love to bet on the fact that this fat bitch has not a clue who Motorhead is. I was extemely pissed to see Motorhead and their rightious snaggle tooth desecrated in such a shameful way. I'd love to hear opinions on this. Especially from those who happened upon this atrocity, such as I.

Dear fellow music lovers,

I read a review of the Monsters Of The Millennium show in Gothenburg a few days ago (end of April). The MOTM show travels around Scandinavia for a week or two and features Alice Cooper, Dio and Ratt. Apparently, Mikkey Dee guested with Dio on the song Neon Knights (from his Black Sabbath days). As you know, Mikkey lives in Gothenburg.

All the best,

Ola

All Motorheadbangers should cast their vote for Lemmy at VH1.Com/Rockshow as he is in a contest of who you would let kiss your mom for Mother's Day.
=The winner's video will be played so be sure to vote so we can finally see some Motorhead on Friday night's "Rockshow" on VH1.
Why no new release until 2002???? We are not getting any younger guys...

Ace,

I've been a Motorhead fan for over 20 years. I just checked out the site and saw the tour dates thru August. There's nothing in the States! Isn't the greatest asskicking band in the world going to hit the U.S. this summer? I was looking forward to taking my two sons to see them this year. I live in the Washington DC area. Please let me know if they plan on coming by some time in 2001. Thanks!

Roland

**Ace: At present I do not see them playing the States this year. Europe at present and then probably something special as a package tour in Sept-Oct for Europe as well.
