Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

NEW ALBUM

Hello All! I apologize for the delay in this issue, but I have been a little busy lately and several things in my personal life have sucked up inordanant amounts of time. Oh well, ever onward!

Two weekends ago, I had the opportunity to hang out with the guys at their rehersal space in North Hollywood. They are working out new songs for their next studio album. It will probably be released some time early next year. Lemmy told me they are taking their time on this one to make it the best Motorhead album of their careers!

I had a wonderful time hanging out with the guys and had a special surprize when long time Motorheadbanger Robert Kiewik made an unannounced appearance. He was over from the UK and came in to visit the guys. Great seeing you again Robert!

For those of you that do not already know, Motorhead was invited to peform "The Game" at the pay-per-view Wrestlemania in Houston last week. From all reports things went well and the band played for the 65,000 fans in attendence as well as what was reportedly the largest pay-per-view audience in history!

Lemmy also told me that his biography, White Line Fever, is being held up by the publisher. He didn't really have any new news on the topic, but it did seem to be a source of frustration. He did tell me that he and Slim Jim have kicked around ideas for a followup to the project they produced a couple of years back. More info as he gives it to me.

Mikkey and Phil were both in excellent spirits and seemed really excited about the seven new songs they had already penned as well as the prospects of getting back on the road in Europe in a few weeks. Should be a great time!

The band will be in LA for a few more weeks and I plan to see them again real soon. I will let you know what new news I get as I get it.

WEBSITE

First, I would like to give a big vote of thanks to one very special list member. Bernd Klooss and his company came to the website's aid a couple of months ago and agreed to host the site on their servers. I just wanted to say a very large thank you for all of the effort and help Bernd has given me and the website. I want you to know that it is really appreciated!

I have added a new section of past tour dates to the website. Quite some time ago, one of the most tenacious young men I have ever had the good fortune to meet took it upon himself to compile as many past Motorhead tour dates as he possibly could unearth. He worked very, very hard on this project and I saw that his work would be a worthy addition to the official website.

That man was none other then our very own Stefano. I have almost finished HTMLing his research and I have posted what is finished on the website.

Our resident artistic genius Paul Higgins also lent his wonderful talents to creating a cool graphic for the section. All the years up to and including 1994 are there... I hope to have the rest up very soon. Thanks again for all of your work Stefano... it is now part of the ages.

Paul has also been tweeking the look of the site here and there... we will be doing more and more in the coming months.

MOTORHEADSHOP NEWS!

I have a couple of cool new items that are not yet listed on the website. First, a lot of youhave been bugging me for a long time to offer a belt buckle for sale. So, we now have a brand new, never before available belt buckle for you! It is a silver/pewter buckle that features a 3D relief of the famous "Motorhead England" image of Snaggletooth. These are $25 plus shipping and handling.

Also available, the newest double CD greatest hits release from Motorhead in a limited edition, signed series of 50 pieces. Phil, Mikkey and Lemmy have all personally signed them and you are the first to have a go at them. They are $49 plus shipping and handling.

Great news! I have the super popular "Motorhead England" t-shirt available in black and in L, XL and XXL by popular demand! Bandanas and Baseball Caps are also back in stock! I have some cool girlie shirts in stock that are not on the website yet. These are all one-size-fits-all and are black with the Motorhead logo in red on the front. They are $25 plus appropriate shipping & handling (see any shirt in the Motorheadshop on the website for postage costs). Check all the stuff out at the Motorheadshop!

Hey Ace what up?,

Now people let me tell you something, i think it's pointless to argue over the best Motorhead song because i think all of their songs are great from "Orgasmatron" to "Play The Game" (HHH's Theme Song).
Personally my favorite is "Stone Dead Forever", but all of them are great, Ive been a huge Motorhead fan like for 20 years now and since i bought my first Motorhead album (Bomber) I had my life completely changed Motorhead gave me a new way of thinking and gave me a new way to handle my life, thanx to them i became a great Bass player, so Motorhead thanx for all.

Now on to HHH, i told you i was a big Motorhead fan well i am too a big WWF fan (For 11 years) and HHH has always been my favorite wrestler since he won the King Of The Ring event in 1997.
I really think that wrestlers are really dedicated people to what they do, for example Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, Bruno Samartino,Jimmy Snuka, and HHH are some of them who represent Blood, Sweat, Tears and Hard Work. So that brings me to this, I think promoting Motorhead with wrestling fans was great, who cares what kind of fans they are, the idea is to make Motorhead fans bigger and stronger and WWF fans bigger and stronger too, I personally think that "Play The Game" is a great song.

Motorhead keep it up, you are doing great, as always...

Bye Ace

Subject: motorhead gig list

Hi,

While surfing the www in time-honoured fashion, I spotted a long post from yourself in what looks like a mailing list archive.

I note that in this post, part of which I reproduce here ..

1977
04.01 Plymouth - Castaways
05.01 Penzance - Winter Gardens
09.01 Birkenhead - Hamilton Club
12.01 Dudley - JB's
13.01 Newport - The Village Club
17.01 Colwyn Bay - Dixieland Showbar
19.01 Swansea - Mumbles Nutz Club
20.01 Burton On Trent - 76 Club
21.01 Middlesbrough - Crypt
22.01 Sherwsbury - Tiffanys
28.01 Bishops Stortford - Hockerill College
29.01 Dunstable - Queensway Hall

.. you have listed Motorhead as playing the Town Hall crypt in Jan 1977. Well, I actually went to a Motorhead gig at the crypt in Jan 1978, and remember that the tickets had been misprinted so that they showed '1977' instead of '1978'. Of course it's possible that they had played the same place 12 months earlier, but I wonder if it's also possible that the misprinted ticket has caused an error here?

It was a memorable night, by the way. Someone nicked one of Eddie's effects pedals from the front of the stage, but it didn't seem to detract from the volume. I'd be lying if I said my ears bled, but it was LOUD.

Best Wishes,
James

FIRST OF ALL, I'D LIKE TO STATE THAT THE "WRESTLING SONG" DEBATE IS ABOUT TO BE ENDED. THE VERY IDEA OF FANS SAYING THAT IT IS A GOOD IDEA IS TOTALLY FALSE. THE IDIOTS THAT WATCH WRESTLING ARE THE VERY MORONS THAT SUBMERGE THEMSELVES IN "POPULAR" CUTLURE. AND THESE ARE THE VERY PEOPLE THAT DO NOT DESERVE TO EVEN KNOW ABOUT OR LISTEN TO METAL IN THE FIRST PLACE. DO WE REALLY WANT THE SAME FAGS THAT SUPPORT LIMP BIZKIT TO START LISTENING TO A SUPREME BAND SUCH AS MOTORHEAD? DO WE REALLY WANT TO SEE MOTORHEAD CONCERTS POPULATED WITH MORE POSERS? THE ANSWER TO THESE QUESTIONS IS NO. THE METAL UNDERGROUND IS FOR PEOPLE THAT REALLY KNOW ABOUT THE BANDS IN IT. THE TYPICAL WRESTLING FAN LISTENS TO COMMERCIAL MUSIC. THESE PEOPLE ARE FLASE AND SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE METAL SCENE. NEXT IS THE METALLICA DEBATE.
THE SIMPLE FACT IS METALLICA IS A BAND FULL OF POSERS. LARS ULRICH IS ONE OF THE WEAKEST DRUMMERS EVER, AND THEIR DESECRATIONS OF MERCYFUL FATE AND MOTORHEAD CLASSICS ARE AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE TO THE REAL FANS OF THESE AFOREMENTIONED BANDS. JEWTALLICA ARE JUST TRYING TO "CASH IN" ON SONGS THEY COULD NEVER WRITE THEMSELVES. BESIDES, METALLICA AREN'T EVEN RELEVANT TO THE METAL SCENE. THIS IS A BAND THAT MADE "METAL" ACCEPTABLE FOR JOCKS AND OTHER FAGS TO LIKE, AND THEREFORE THEY ARE FLASE. SOMEONE REALLY NEEDS TO ASSASSINATE THEM SOON. IT SEEMS LIKE THIS SLYR2133 GUY KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON, I DON'T THINK ENOUGH PEOPLE REALIZE THAT METAL IS FOR THE STRONG, NOT WEAK TEENY BOPPER POSERS THAT WILL NOT BE INTO MOTORHEAD IN A YEAR AFTER THE SONG IS FORGOTTEN. IF ANYONE HAS A PROBLEM WITH MY RESPONSE, FEEL FREE TO VOICE YOUR UNIMPORTANT OPINION IN THE NEXT POST.

Subject: OS: World Leaders And A Question To Boot

I'd like to respond to what that Baz dude said about the shit that I write in here about world leaders and such. See, I just can't type really fast, so I didn't really have the time to get into the shit about how Margaret Thatcher used to hang out with the band backstage at Hammersmith back in the day, and how she introduced them at the Port Vale festival. I do remember that picture of her and Lemmy and Ozzy and Steve Zodiac from that day. I am also aware that John Major tried out for the band after Larry Wallis left, but he couldn't hack it.
As far as other leaders go, how about that Agusto Pinochet fucker? He had those death squads, how about showing him a sonic death squad in Motorhead? The one that needs Motorhead the most though, is that fucker Kin Jong-Il in North Korea. That fucker thinks that he's cool like Lemmy because he has some of his Pigs kidnap young chicks from around his country for his purposes. He either has them be dancing girls, masseuses, or concubines. He's running low on supply in North Korea because he's fuckin' starved his people so badly that all the chicks are skinny waifs, and he doesn't like that, so he's looking elsewhere. Let's tell him that he could score chicks at a Motorhead concert, so that he'd want to go. He'd see the chicks that Lemmy was with and think that he was going to score big-time. Then the lights would go down and the music would start We would need to take his Commie ass right up front into the mosh pit, so that he could get a taste of the maelstrom that is Motorhead live. He could get smashed around a bit as the loudest sound he'd ever heard blasted in his fuckin' face. Then, he could go off to the side of the stage, right in front of the huge stacks of amplifiers that Motorhead has and get pushed right into then, face first as Mikkey Dee does his solo. I have been right there when he does that, and put my hand on the amp, and it's like you are getting punched, it's so fierce. Fuckin' Kim Jong-Il needs to have his four-eyed face jammed into the amps, so he gets it fuckin' smashed in good and hard. He'd be screaming for his God ( which I think is actually him) to help him, but nobody could hear him, and he'd be speaking Korean anyways. The throw his carcass back into the pit for the rest of the set, and he will end up a crumpled pile on the floor along with the cigarette butts and spilled beer and puke as he whimpers like a fuckin' Baby squirrel. Then Lemmy could walk over his decimated ass as he escorted his lady friends to wherever. How's that one?
One last thing. Back in the 80's , there was this British female band called Oral. They put out this mini-LP called "Sex". It had these unforgetable tunesd like "Head" ( Bill Clinton's favorite rock song of all time), " Love Pole", " Gas Masks, Vicars, and Priests" on it. These three chicks had this BDSM image, with leather and riding crops and shit. This chick called Monica that was the guitar player in the band used to go around saying that Lemmy taught her how to play the guitar. If you listen to her play, it sounds like he might have done that for 15 minutes one day. Alas, they never came out with a second release that I'm aware of. Whatever happened to them? Is it true that they are all nuns now? Did Lemmy really teach this chick, or was it just a desperate attempt to sell their record? Other than me, i don't know anyone that has that actually, so it didn't work either way.

Cant we all just get along? Im getting really sick of reading messages about which song is the best. Which guitarist is the best. Which drummer is the best. The point is, its still just 1 band. It doesnt matter who is in the band, its how good the music is, and that every one of us loves the music Motorhead puts out. Everyone has an opinion about everything. We dont always need to express it. Everyone should just love the band and their music, and not worry about what person plays better or what song is better.
So next time someone says KBD is their favorite song, think to yourselves, yes, that is a great song, but my favorite is........... It will make many of us happy not to have to screen through all the bullshit opinions.

Subject: os: wrestling/lemmy's bio

First off, I'd like to address the wrestling haters. You are all entitled to your opinion on wrestling, if you don't like it, you don't like it, I have no problem with that. But as a major wrestling fan, I would like to respond to some of the remarks made in this newsletter.

Wrestling being the biggest trend in America: While I wouldn't say it is the biggest trend, I do agree it ranks up there pretty high. Wrestling is enjoying a big surge in popularity for the last 5 years or so, and eventually it will die down, so I guess then you can call wrestling a trend. At the same time, wrestling will always be around, whether it is popular or not, because it does have a strong fan base. It is not a trend in the NSYNC/Backstreet Boys sense, like when they die down in popularity, they'll no longer exist, unlike wrestling. I've been a fan for 15 years, through popular times and through times when I was the only one who watched it in my elementary school/middle school/high school, etc., and got ridiculed for it by everyone. The fact is when wrestling was unpopular, it still had one or two people like me in every school, enough to give it a loyal fan base. Come to think of it, the exact same thing can be said about Motorhead. Let's be honest, it's not Great Britain 1981 anymore, Motorhead does not come even close to getting no. 1 albums, but their loyal fans like us stick by them through thick and thin, and with wrestling it is the same thing.

About watching a bunch of guys with their shirts off: totally homophobic statement that does not deserve to be addressed.

I'd also like to say I've been waiting forever for "White Line Fever," Lemmy's Bio to come out for a long time! I realize Ace doesn't know why there is a delay, but I would just like to state that this is one fan who eagerly awaiting for this book to come out. It sounds like it is going to be nothing short of awesome.

Doug Sarnecky

Dear Ace,
I enjoy the newsletter very much. But some of the e-mails are frankly tiresome.
I think it's a good idea to provoke debate on Motorhead doing music for a WWF wrestler. However, people just stating "wrestling sucks" or "wrestling rules so shut up" contributes absolutely nothing. Personally I like wrestling and I like Motorhead, so I enjoy the whole idea and execution. Having to wait for the WWF CD to buy it though, is something I don't like, yet i'll just have to live with.
How people can bring up the ridiculous argument of "selling out" is beyond me. Have you heard the song? That doesn't sound like Motorhead selling out to me. It sounds like WWF waking up to the kind of music people listen to, very loud and very good and I hope it made a few people shit their pants!!
As for talking about which Slayer album is better and Lars Ulrich's drumming...what the fuck has that got to do with Motorhead?! Why quote obscure '80s mteal musicians, it impresses no-one.

Cheers for reading,
The 'Ost

p.s. You don't hold the aces, you don't even have a pack of cards. Wake up.

Hey Ace, just a note here, was checking out that new show "The Lone Gunmen" on FOX an offshoot from the x-files, may be a good show if they dont fuck it up,did a double take sunday nite when I noticed that the computer hacker guy with long hair was wearing a motorhead t-shirt, at first saw it while it was mainly hidden behind the counter he was leaning on, but hen later saw him outside and lo and behold A STEAL YOUR FACE!!! saw clip for future episode noticed one quick scene he had a Ramones shirt on but another quick shot showed the familliar logo once again,I can dig that.on another network theyd have him in a hanson t.dig your tale of the excursion abroad, we were out there also and had a great time there with a side venture to amsterdam, looking forward to venturing to europe this summer to see either the graspop fest or Gods of metal, with another side trip to A-dam to round it out. keep us posted on euro fests and participating bands, could dig seeing motorhead play a few times over there, did see Lemmy on WWF, looked like he was having fun AND THATS WHAT COUNTS RIGHT??? does suck that triple H is such a whining pussy though.Guys should lay off Phil his metal has proven the test of time, Ive never seen a show where he wasnt in overdrive at all times, the band has evolved a unique diversity over timewhich Phil, and Wurzel also have greatly contributed to.changes happen its part of the game, if Phil finishes what fast Eddy started so be it,PEOPLE,WE HAVE MOTORHEAD!!! hope to see ya out on the road this summer ROCK ON!!!

Hi all,
I know that most of you are in the States (not your fault) but for you lot in England - have you ever heard of Penge, SE20 (London) ? There used to be a little second hand record shop in the market. The owner used to go out with Philthy's ex-missus, and he even showed me a photo. But I still don't know what happened to Philthy himself, which is a shame, as in my opinion he was the greatest drummer Motorhead ever had (in terms of pure adrenalin and aggression). Before I get nostalgic I must say that we all gotta accept change and let things move on the way they will, but I still much prefer the old stuff before i.e. everything before Orgasmatron.
Keep rocking, stay clean, and don't kill too many young girls while wrestling,

OS: Killed By Wrestling

Motorhead really doesnt need to get more fans. People keep writing in and saying expanding their audience is good. Well first and foremost Lemmy isn't exactly starving. I'm sure him and the boys have plenty to live on.

Expanding the audience is only going to push the die hards farther from the stage. Motorhead has survived all these years b/c of dedicated people like myself. Motorhead has a cult following. At least it once was a cult following. Some of these people that write there opinions are just so unrealistic and make no sense at all. They don't uderstand that Motorhead with its cult following has no problem at all paying the bills. Do you really want Motorhead to become an arena band. Look what happened to AC/DC after Bon died. They added Brian made a few hit songs and now you can't even get close to the stage. AC/DC was an always will be a band that rocked the bars and the small venues. Now look at them!!!!! You can't even find a decent place to smoke a joint in those damn arena's (with security up ur ass---shit----cant even smoke a cig)!!!!!! I am just so fed up with america and all the corporate shit pushed down are throats.......I am fed up with new Motorhead fans trying to tell me about the ace of spades!!!! I used to think it could only get better from here, but maybe i was wrong. These people are so brainwashed these days in almost every aspect of life. All what they really know how to do is spend and count money and do what other people tell them. As you have read some of my previous posts you know i hate wrestling.
Well i know a few people in the business world and hear this shit on the stern show. Well the quote that i always hear is "Vince Mcmahon is a marketing genious"----i even hear wrestling people say this....So wrestling people are as dumb as they look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SodomVomit keep it metal------Songs i left out of my list last week are the claw and stay out of jail i would like to hear in the set. Hey if anyone wants to trade Vhs show let me know... No posers please!! Its about fuckin time someone gave Robbo the credit he deserves! People read the story behind it (apparently the fans back then didn't like the way he dressed at the shows, among other reasons) and they just dismiss the whole damn disc.
I think Robbo was one of the best guitarists of that period, and probably my favorite axe-man in Motorhead, with regards to skill and musicianship. And Thin Lizzy kicks ass. Do as you're told and buy "Live and Dangerous"

I presume the band Union Avenue have permission from Motorhead to do this cover - as I heard it on the Radio in the UK and recorded it on my PC.

Everyone! Lemmy is not a god, so stop treating him like one!
The guys in Motorhead are just human beings, and people should be able to respect them as muscicians without letting them run their entire lives. I mean, i admire Lemmy a lot, but at the same=time=I am aware of the fact that he's just a man who happens to be a great bass player/ singer/ song writer. And metal bands aren't nesseceraly sell outs just because they choose to do something different than what their fans expect from them... (i.e. tthe whole wrestling thing.)

Oh,, and I just went to see King Diamond in Oslo and it kicked ass!

Greetings Ace & fellow rockers,

Just a quickie for the page in relation to May 23 and Motorhead's appearance at The Forum. To keep the message as short as possible - Are there any female rocker's out there in Motorhead land who would care for a little company (of the opposite sex) on the aforementioned evening?

Any female rocker in or close to the town of Slough (Berkshire)who would like to respond may do so to the enclosed Email address - let's get to know each other before the 'event.' I AM NOT NECESSARILY LOOKING FOR ANY KIND OF RELATIONSHIP JUST LIKE MINDED FRIENDS - FROM ANYWHERE!!

Hi Ace,
I've been looking at some of the Motorhead items for sale on sites like Yahoo, Ebay and Amazon. I wondered if there was any way to tell if this stuff is legitimate or is it some cheap shit? If it is legal stuff, how come you dont sell it in the Motorheadshop? I would much rather hand my cash over to you to get quality official stuff (and help support the site) than give it to some bootlegger.

Thanks,
Karl Davies

**Ace: I sell only legit, officially licensed materials. There is stuff I do not stock because I do not know where to get it. There is a lot of bootlegging going on out there - especially shirts. There is no easy formula for telling if something is legit or not...

I find all of this mindless banter about whether or not the Motorhead/Triple H theme song is good or not, as well as what the best lineup is from the past or present of Motorhead's existence, to be a bunch of wasted cyberspace and time. None of it matters, really. If Motorhead recorded the Happy Birthday song, Silent Night, or any other ridiculous cover I would buy it in a heartbeat without any second thought. Long live Motorhead and I thank them profusely for all of the great memories and experiences that they have provided me over the past 25 years.

Ace, you're doing a great job, and your services are greatly appreciated from this true Motorheadbanger! Keep up the great work.

This is my 1st message to you, although I have sent one via the yahoo grouping.

i think you doing a good job on the website considering its all your own handywork -so big respect. I hope you do not take offence re my comments on the yahoo group. Its just when people bleat on about the same old topics (KBD, Triple X) its gets pointless and boring. People get a bit too serious, there are more important things....

Free speech at all that, but too much dross and not enough content (your input plus the majority of members excluded), but then again that maybe is what it is all about.

Keep it going, but could you tell me one question....
why did you choose imotorhead.com - just interested!!
TAKE CARE, SPEAK SOON

Hello MOTORHEADBANGERS,

We learned a few months ago how fragile life can be when LEMMY was sidelined. Last year LONESOME DAVE PEVERETT founder, rythm guitarist and lead singer of FOGHAT died of cancer. Now cancer has raised its ugly head again, CHUCK BILLY lead singer of TESTAMENT has recently been diagnosed with the dreaded disease. The prognosis looks good, they caught it early.

We think of our hero's as being indistructable, but sadly they are not. When we were younger we all thought that we would never die or die before we got old. Well we know we will die someday and hope it is a long way off. Now dying at a ripe old age sounds good to me.

TESTAMENT LEGIONS.com is setting up a special message board to send well wishes to CHUCK, his wife and son.

GET WELL SOON CHUCK AND WE'LL SEE YOU IN THE PIT!

I have written many times in this magazine about The Undreground website that I am a proud and honored member of. That's the one with the Lemmy interview and the autographed memorabilia and all that cool shit. Well, we have changed addresses. It is now at http://www.1313x.com You will want to remember this site ,for some really cool shit is going to happen there in the future, shit that everyone that reads this will like to some extent. It will be one of the greatest things in the history of the Internet. Unparallelled excellence and glory will abound. Watch this space for further developments.
I didn't see Motorhead play live at Wrestlemania because it wasn't really worth 40 dollars to me just to see them play one three minute song. That would be a lot of money to see them play an entire set, let alone one song, so I blew it off. So if anyone was expecting some wild missive from me concerning this event, I apologize, but that shit that I allude to in the first paragraph is definetly going to be many times wilder than anything that I have ever written here or anywhere else, for that matter. Every Motorhead freak and wild individual around the world will revel in its greatness.

I'm sure we're all tired of all the wrestling comments, but I wanna throw in my two cents. Of course, wrestling is a joke. But I enjoy a laugh now and then, so plenty of times you'll find me in front of the tube on Monday night watching like a slackjawed yokel. Sure it's fake as all hell, but it sure beats network junk like Family Law. So when I heard that Motorhead was gonna perform on Wrestlemania I plunked down my hard-earned dollars and bought the pay per view.
And you know what? They were awesome. Lemmy growled the "We Are Motorhead" opener to the jam-packed Astrodome crowd and off they went until they were done.
Performing at Wrestlemania probably gave them more international exposure then they've ever enjoyed. And maybe it'll move some records as well. Sell out? If you have any clue, you understand that Lemmy couldn't sell out if he tried. And you know what? Even if it's a benefit for the San Francisco chapter of the National Man-Boy Love Association, I'll pony up for any pay-per-view the boys appear on.

Subject: OS: I Can't Believe Where Motorhead Was Now

On April 4th ( or 4th April if you will), we had this exciting sporting event here in Chicago at the United Center featuring the pulse-punding NHL action of the Chicago Blackhawks versus the Calgary Flames. Calgary sucks bad, and the fuckin' Blackhawks suck way the fuck worse right now. Just a meaningless game at the end of another National Hockey League season between two non-playoff bound teams, so it would seem. It has been so fuckin' boring at the hockey games here this season that the management is trying all sorts of shit to try and bring some excitement to the scene. Music has been used extensively in this attempt. You go to the United Center, and it sounds like a fuckin' nightclub in there half the time with the tunes blasting.
Like all NHL arenas today, they have tunes for every occasion so it would seem. Tunes when the teams hit the ice , tunes at warmups, tunes at time outs, tunes at intermission, etc. So they also have a tune interlude set for the very beginning of the game, right before the first puck is dropped.
This is supposed to instill a sense of excitement in the crowd, an impossible task around here these days but they try anyways. On the 4th, the tune that they played right at the first face-off was none other than "The Game". I fuckin' freaked. That was the first time that I had ever heard them do that at the United Center. Why couldn't they have played that fuckin' song at the Hawks- Ottawa Senators game a week earlier that I was at? That night it was Metallica covering "Breadfan" that was played at that particular time. Oh well, I had a good time anyways, being wild and getting high and taking those crazy pictures and all, but hearing Motorhead would have been the coolest thing of all that night. It was on the 4th.
I was astounded that Old Man Wirtz alllowed such a thing to be played in his fuckin' buliding. That motherfuckin' fat-assed alcoholic has been totally fuckin' blasted on booze since like 1940 or so. He is definetly not someone that you'd see at the local Motorhead concert. I hope that if he was there and heard the Motorhead, that he has a fuckin' heart attack and croaks off from not being able to handle it. That would make Motorhead absolute heroes amongst Blackhawk fans and Lemmy would be elevated to the legendary ranks of the likes of Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Tony Esposito (autographed shit from these superstars available for viewing on The Underground website), Mush March, Denis Savard, etc. in the annals of Blackhawk history.
His name would be added to those on the list on that bronze statue thing that's where the Chicago Stadium used to be that honors all those that have toiled for the franchise. That would fuckin' rule! The only reasons that I can think of that would explain why Old Man Wirtz allowed such a thing (you need to realize that this is a man that's still afraid of television) would be either that he was so fuckin' wasted that he didn't know what the fuck was going on as usual, or that it was explained to him that Lemmy's put a lot of money in his pockets because he buys lots of beer and liquor, and I suppose that a lot of it is some of the shit that Wirtz imports through his liquor wholesaling business, so he gets some ( more than some) of the profit from it, so maybe he thinks that Lemmy's cool. It would be interesting to see who would win a drinking contest between Wirtz and Lemmy. I think that Lemmy would meet his match there however.
What all of this proves is that "The Game" is more than just a wrestling song. All kinds of people have been bitching about how they fuckin' hate wrestling because it's stupid shit and all of that, and Lemmy's destroyed his credibility by getting involved with it, and all this other shit. Yes, wrestling can be some of the stupidst fuckin' shit that man has ever invented. It is also a huge fuckin' force in American culture today. When I hear some of my wrestling freak friends telling me how cool it was to see Motorhead play live at Wrestlemania, it shows me that this is a good opportunity for the band. These dudes that I know listen to fuckin' pussy shit like K-Ci and JoJo and gansta rap and Kid Rock and that sort of American pop culture dogshit. They have no idea of music as anything but just product designed for sales. They do not know true music or the latent power within it and shit. The only way that they'd previously heard of Motorhead was from me, and anything that I am into scares them, because I am way the fuck too far out for them, so they figured that Motorhead must be something far too much for them to take at all. Now they have heard them on the WWF release, and seen them live on Wrestlemania, and they now understand what Motorhead is really all about. Not a single one of them have said anything other than how cool they are. No matter what kind of shitty stuff they have in their music collections, they are all becoming fans of Motorhead. Whether it wil translate into any sales for Motorhead releases remains to be seen, but at least they know the name now and see the quality that it stands for. Lemmy didn't go begging Vince Mc Mahon to be a part of his now monopolistic scene. He had no idea of what the fuckin' WWF was, I am sure of that. It was that Triple H dude that came to him with the song and asked if Motorhead would be a part of it all. That has never happened before with these wrestling songs. Usually the bands try to hit up the WWF to get on these releases. There have been no other bands that have taken it to the extent of actually playing live at a particular wrestler's entrance either.
To have it done at the company's signature event as well is also unprecedented. This is only going to help this song to branch out beyond the world of wrestling, like I heard at the United Center. I don't think that's the last place that the song will pop up either. Baseball season is just beginning here in America, and I am going to keep my ears open and see if one of the over 600 major league baseball players will request " The Game" to be played when they come to bat, or enter the game or whatever. I am sure that I will not be disappointed. The baseball players hear the song on wrestling, and they bring it into their arenas as well. Several of the past tunes from WWF releases have been used for these puroposes in seasons past, and I am sure that this one will be heard in the ballparks of America ( and Canada) in 2001. This is the kind of shit that is going to come from Motorhead's affiliation with the WWF. To see their name being treated with such respect here in America is nothing short of astounding anyways. They fuckin' deserve it, and I am glad to see them getting the opportunity after all these years. I knew that the song would eventually branch out beyond wrestling, and I hope that it keeps on going. Triple H is obviously a cool dude to do this for Motorhead and for all of us fans. So say what you will about wrestling, but there's always shit that supercedes all of that, and this tune and Motorhead in general is one of them as we all know.
Salutations In
Excelsior,
Michael Mc Intyre
