"O.S." I hate wrestling
First of all when i said that all wrestlers had small brains, i meant to say there thinking power is very low! Wrestling is the biggest trend in america!! We all know that Vince McMahon pumps those dudes up with steroids!! It's been proven pal!! What kind of guys like to watch men with there shirts off( sounds gay)!!!
Secondly, Lemmy should be concerned who buys his albums! Cause most of us know shit when its pushed in are face. The new wrestling song is Shit!! Thirdly, Slayer changed there music style for cash!! OBVIOUSLY there is something wrong about that!! Go buy Hell Awaits and then listen to Diablous!!! (actually don't buy it u poser) !! Fourthly, if you know anything about Metallica, which i know u don't, you would know that Lars Ulrich's playing was so bad on Kill Em All that they had to patch it up countless times in the studio!! I admit that it came out better than anything new!! If you listen to them cover Mercyful Fate, Lars totally butchers Satans Fall and Curse of the Pharohs!! If you even Know who the legendary Kim Ruzz is!!! I have seen so many gay interviews with Lars and its sucks!! Finally, if Metallica had a better drummer when they started they would of never got as bad as they did!! Stick to playing tennis lars!!!
So don't correct me when I hold all the Aces!!!!!!!

I have a CD on Receiver Records called STONE DEAD FORVER, which features re-recordings of several Motorhead classics, occassionally sung by Eddie Clarke, as well as other tracks, (Treat Me Nice, You Ain't Gonna Live Forever, Fun On The Farm), which I don't recognise at all.
Does anybody out there have any information about the recordings on this CD? The sleeve notes claim it was made during the recordings during sessions for an Eddie Clarke solo album, but unlike the other Receiver Records releases, it doesn't go on about the copyright resting with The Fast One.

Please help, and see you in Manchester.

Subject: who cares????

It's been fairly amusing to watch this growing debate on which is the "best" Motorhead song and how vehemently people are defending their choices.
Honestly, who the fuck cares??? My choices are:

1. Killed by Death (I thought it was brilliant the moment I first heard it.)
2. Snaggletooth
3. I'm so Bad Baby (I don't care) - My personal theme song.
4. We Bring the Shake
5. Going To Brazil - Shows Lemmy roots, kinda has a Chuck Berry feel.
6. Eat the Rich - I personally think this demostrates Lemmy's tongue in cheek sense of humor the best.
7. White Line Fever - First song I ever heard by Motorhead. I was 13 and it had a profound effect on me. 21 years later I'm still a huge fan.
8. Please Don't Touch - Probably the finest collaboration Lemmy ever did.
9. Shine - Robbo is still one of my fave guitarists. I'm also a huge Thin Lizzy fan. Check out "Live and Dangerous"
10. Orgasmatron

This is only my opinion and I'm sure people will disagree for sure. I think the important thing is how we feel about the band, not which song is the "best". I am appalled at this years Ozzfest lineup, except for Black Sabbath and Black Label Society there is no one else there to see but crap bands. I think Motorhead should have a mainstage slot this year. That guy from Italy who sent the line up for the "Metal Gods" festival is lucky. Over here in the states all we get is shit!!! The music over here that is big sucks!!! Europe is still light yeas ahead of the states when it comes to things like rock. As far as the Motorhead/Wrestling connection. I don't think the song is that great but if it brings the band to a larger audience then more power!!! Those of this newsletter that think the band shouldn't have a bigger audience are a little out of touch. The whole purpose to making music I think is to reach as many people as you can. I don't think "Sell Out" and Motorhead are synonomous. They have way too much integrity for that.
That's all for now, I think I've made my point.

Indulge me while I add my two cents.....
In response to the guy complaining about the WWF thing:
How can you possibly complain about this song? As far as I can see more Fans mean more money for the band. More money means more records and more songs. More songs can only be a good thing, it's as simple as that. You can't possibly expect to like every song motorhead have ever written- I like about 75% of Motorhead songs and the other 25 I never listen to. It is the sheer volume of Motorhead's output over the years which means I have so many of the "good ones" to listen to.

Fine, you don't like the song, but I don't think you can really say the band shouldn't have made it.....

Ace Of Spades, Stone Dead Forever, Bomber, Fire Fire, The Chase Is Better Than The Catch, Mean Machine, Doctor Rock, Orgasmatron, On Your Feet Or On Your Knees, Devils, No Voices In The Sky, Snake Bite Love, Another Perfect Day, See Me Burning, We Are Motorhead...I Think the new album is fantastic, much better than Snake Bite Love and Overnight Sensation. God Save Motrhead! They and AC/DC (Hail Angus) are the soul of Rock & Roll . I've seen AC/DC last December and it was epic.

Dear All

My turn for a bit of a ramble then;

I see that Slyr2133@aol.com has gone and got himself all worked up again.

Much as I dislike the WWF and the sad bollox that surrounds it, I can understand that it is good marketing sense for Motorhead to provide a track for it, in much the same way as Film soundtracks are. Every convert is welcome no matter where they saw the light ! And that's the point, whether you consider people to be in crowd or loners, there is room for a wide range of people to like Motorhead

At the last London show I went to, there was everybody from young kids in clubbing gear to Angels to a guy in a tweed jacket, long hair, short hair, no hair It didn't matter it was excellent.

I notice also that Slyr2133@aol.com claims to have been sold out by a long list of bands - I wouldn't worry, I am sure it's not personal. In fact I don't think you really understand what selling out means, A good example would be Sting (Ex Police) endless ramblings about how badly we are screwing up the world, representing Amazonian tribes & generally espousing green issues (no bad thing) he is then seen advertising jaguars (Very Flash, Expensive, thirsty cars that pollute like fuck). Now that is selling out.

#When I do something in my life and I'm not sure if its metal ------I say "what would lemmy do" ---i can't say #that no more and it bothers me!!
Motorhead lyrics mean a lot of different things to different people, there is a lot of interesting thought provoking stuff in there and over the years it has done just that - made me question stuff that I had previously taken for granted, but you can't use it as a decision making mechanism. I reckon Lemmy would tell you to work it out for your self.

And in response to the guy who has a dog called Jimi. My Cat is called Lemmy, he even has a large M(otorhead) on his forehead, he will sip beer and sits on the hi-fi speakers cos he likes the bass.

and with that

"O.S." Dream Set List

I really wanted to talk about my dream Motorhead setlist!! But i was side- tracked by some of these people. You should make them answer motorhead trivia before they get on the list. Well anyways this is for the diehards and you all know what songs i am going to post!! It is impossible for the band to play all these songs so that should do two nights in every city! In no order of importance here they ARE: But they all need to be played!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I got mine, Shine, Back on the Funny Farm, Rock n' Roll, crazy like a fox, dog face boy, Live to Win, Don't Let em Grind ya Down, Heart of Stone, Don't need Religion, Speed Freak, Ain't my crime, Dr. Rock, Shoot You in the Back, All the Aces, Slow Dance, BlackHeart, Lost Johnny, Vibrator, All of Bastards(except please dont let) , Might as well do another bastards tour, Step down, poison, Sweet Revenge, Motorhead, Please don't touch, Eat the Rich, dead and gone, don't waste your time, nightside, whiteline fever, dirty love, snaggletooth, Dance, Assassin, Love for Sale, Keep us on the Road and jailbait,)!!! These are some of the best and I would love to hear these the most!! Is there anyone out there beside me who wants to hear this? Most of the current set needs to be filed away for awile!!
Also the other thing i would like to say is my favorite song on the new album is Slow Dance. By the way if i missed anything well, i'm sure you'll here about it in the weeks to come!! If u want to talk about metal or something

Subject: Help!

Hi gang!

It's funny to see all of these postings saying things like "Killed By Death" is crap/killer or "Phil/Eddie is better than Eddie/Phil" and all this nitpicking and bickering. Personally I love it. In fact I look forward to it! I notice plenty of people saying "Stop it! It doesn't matter" and they are absolutely right - it doesn't!

It's obviously all relative as to what songs people rate and what guitarist they like and I think we are all grown up enough to know that. But it's bloody entertaining and what else is OS for after all? I think of it as lively discussion.

My two cents goes like this:
The current lineup is the strongest, tightest and musically solid lineup EVER especially from a musicians poing of view.

The 'Golden Years' were fantastic (I know, I was there) but that was a different world and I don't want younger M'Headbangers to feel they missed out. Some of the live shows back then were a shambles - everything was too loud (believe me there IS such a thing - you don't? You should!) and the band were often so loaded when they went on stage that they played so fast they couldn't keep up with each other. Some of Eddies guitar solos were abortions although you don't get to hear those solos on the live recordings!

Of course these were not negative points at the time and they aren't now - it was all a part of what the band were about and like I said it was a different world then. There had never been such a band as Metallica or Pantera or Fear Factory or any other setters of musical standards to which other metal bands were compared. When they first appeared Motorhead were closer to 70's punk in their sound than other emerging metal bands and it was to their credit!

Blah Blah Blah, what a load of senseless bickering and nitpicking!
Exellent! Keep it coming.

By the way, I always look forward to Mike McIntyres tirades. I like the Idea of digging up washed-out right wing politicians and ramming Motorhead in their faces. Don't stop at the Raegans Mike, I'd like to bolt Margaret Thatcher and John Major to a bench and plant it in front of a Motorhead stage till their ears bleed. My joy would be complete as I know they would hate it and it would make their lives hell like they did ours throughout the 1980's.

Right, I've taken up enough space for now

Cheers all, stay dirty!

THE PIRATES Rock Bottom (SJPCD083)

Release date 16.03.01

Mick Green has a pedigree that stretches back into the mists of rock antiquity: for as long as rock and R & B has been around Mick has been there with his beloved Pirates.

This album, recorded in Sweden in 1995, features the same line-up as the successful 'Land Of The Blind' CD, also available on Angel Air. Motorhead's Lemmy guests on vocals on one track 'Blue Suede Shoes' which Mick refers to as 'the most brutal record I have ever been on.'

This Angel Air release comes with an eight-page full color CD booklet with sleeve notes penned by Dale Griffin. It is the perfect complement to the earlier Angel Air album.

Subject: re: best song they are all the best

I have been a motorheadbanger for over 12 years now. I feel that arguing over which song is best is pointless. Each and every song has a meaning to all of us. A point in our life when we first heard them. I well remember hearing motorhead the first time I hated it. however two weeks later I found myself in a record shop buying my first motorhead album ( orgasmatron ) which changed my life. we created a tradition of playing it loudly every sunday morning. What a rush all hungover with deaf forever blasting out of the stereo. Now twelve years later the hangovers are gone but the music remains timeless. I have three children the oldest boy is nicknamed little lemmy and he has loved motorhead since before he was born. the second son is named philip. We call him philip "the baby" and the third is mykala diana which can be shortened up to yes you guessed it mikkey dee.
I have been lucky enough too see them twice in concert. I say lucky because I live in the middle of nowhere Iowa. the last time I saw them was at a little bar they were on the ozzfest tour but they took a little side jaunt on a day off. We were standing in line to get in when my wife said "that looks like phil campbell over there". It took my shadow several seconds to catch up as I went over to introduce myself to one of the most talented guitarists of all time. He was very friendly and seemed happy to meet us. Later my friend came running out of the bar all out of breath and said"Lemmy in bar playing video poker" . We stormed the place after all how many chances do you get to meet a legend. Lemmy was very polite and also seemed happy to meet us. We had a good conversation and he was very friendly. Anyway when they took the stage the crowd did not stand a chance. during "the chase is better than the catch" right in the middle I gave my wife a kiss she will never forget. Phil pointed us out and lemmy chuckled like only the big man can and gave me the thumbs up.
Anyway it is pointless to argue over which song is best. They are all great. No one person I have ever met has not been affected by their music.
I even know a 75 year old man who likes them. He says he doesnt understand all of it but there is some that he likes.
I also want to say thank you for endless hours of entertainment and music.

On Thursday night, March 15th ( or 15th March), I was watching WWF Smackdown. On this show, we had the usual mix of pathos and intrigue and suspense. We had Shane Mc Mahon saying how he was not going to have any relationship with his father anymore because he wasn't cool. We had The Undertaker smashing limousine windows with a steel pipe and getting busted by the fuckin' Pigs for it all. There was poor Chris Jericho in a handicap match against the Dudley Boyz. There was even a replay from last week of Trish Stratus on all fours barking like a dog at Vince Mc Mahon's behest. It was very much cutting edge American entertainment. Then, Triple H had a match against Kane. Lemmy's voice howled over the sound system and Triple H and his "wife" made their way to the ring to do battle. Before he got into the ring, however, he went over to the crowd. He did so because sitting there in the first row were none other than Messrs. Phil Campbell, Mikkey Dee, Bob Kulick, and Lemmy. The announcer shrieked "Look! There's Motorhead!" as Lemmy tried very hard not to laugh at the total absurdity of it all. That dude Tazz was doing color commentary and he said " There's Lemmy. If I had known that he was gonna be there, i'd give him my autograph." I am sure that Lemmy would treasure that forever. I wonder if Tazz ever even heard of Lemmy before his bosses told him that he'd be sitting first row at that match and would be acknowledged on TV, so that's who that dude is type of thing. However, before Triple H got into the ring, he stood on the ring apron and did his histrionics in time to the music and lights and pyro and shit.
After he got done with those, he hopped down and went over to Lemmy and the band and shook hands and then gave Lemmy a very macho athletic-type hug, not one of those hippie-type hugs that he used to get at Hawkwind concerts, as Lemmy tried even harder not to laugh at the total absurdity of the whole thing. Inspired by this, Triple H went into the ring and defeated Kane even though The Big Show tried to fuck with the match. Once again, the power of Motorhead comes through in a pinch and is shown to all America, and everyone fuckin' lived happily ever after. What a stimulating program that was. It kicked some serious fuckin' ass to see Motorhead on there. They showed that they were the best, the fuckin' coolest thing on that fuckin' show. I had already seen the chick barking and didn't give a fuck about Shane Mc Mahon and his old man and never want to see the fuckin' Pigs anywhere at anytime, so Lemmy and the boys were by far the best thing on the fuckin' show. You could see that they definetly were way better than wrestling could ever be, on a whole other level, a much higher level than wrestling could ever attain. It's too bad that Motorhead can't be on TV 2 or 3 times a week here in America.

News from worldpop.com:

Dave Grohl has called in Motorhead frontman Lemmy and Slayer's Tom Araya to give him a hand on his nu-metal side project, Probot. Grohl started up his side project after complaining of the stress of touring with and promoting the Foo Fighters. 'I started touring when I was 17, now I'm 32. There's a whole side of being in a band that includes touring to promote a product ... and I want to concentrate on other things,' said Grohl. Foo Fighters guitarist, Chris Schifflett spoke to worldpop about the future of the band: 'We need to take a break from touring, it's just getting too much. After the Rio festival we're going to chill a bit more, concentrate on new stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love touring ... but at the end of the day you're only human, you can only take so much.' The Foo Fighters will play to a sold out audience at The House Of Blues in Orlando, Florida, tonight.
