Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

Well, well, well. As you can see (if you have checked), the website is back up and running. I sent out a note to all of you asking for help on the hosting issues and I must say the response was overwelhming. Over 100 of you sent offers of help (!). I am still sorting through all of the options so please be patient. In the short term, Jeff Barger and his company Look.net have kindly agreed to host the site temporarily until I find it a permanent home. Thanks a lot Jeff - your a star. I am working with some really great list members to find solutions that will allow the website to grow to new heights!

I also want to say thanks to all of you that sent your well wishes! It really does mean a lot when I get notes of such encouragement. When the new provider shut the site down with no warning, not even an email, I was feeling sunk. But all of you helped me make it through... this truly is much bigger then me. It is all of you.

A couple of weeks ago Peter Semple made a visit to Los Angeles. Peter is the gentleman that is filming the documentary on Lemmy's life under the working title of "Lemmy". He took time out one evening to show a rough final cut to myself and website artist Paul Higgins for our opinion and input. I must say that I enjoyed the film a great deal. It is not you typical life journey thing. Instead, it gives a look at the more provate sides to Lemmy detailed by the man himself and those around him.

Peter even interviewed me for the film... we will see if it makes it to the final cut. More news about this as it becomes available.

Well, the WWF got pretty POed that we posted the new Triple H theme song on the website and politely asked us to remove it. So we did. You can still get it on the new WWF music CD available by visiting

All is well on the Lemmy front.

I have uploaded a Quicktime video of Motorhead's performance back in May of last year at the Hollywood Palace. Check it out!

I have a few of these shirts left and I have a special offer for all OS list members. Until the end of February 2001, if you order an OS2K shirt, you can take 20% off any of the other items that you order from the Motorheadshop. They have to be on the same order.

Also, if you want to buy more then one OS2K shirt, I have a special offer for you to indulge in. Until the end of Feb 2001, anyone that wants to buy more then one OS2K shirt can have them for $20 each. This only applies if you are purchasing two or more. If you have already bought one and would like more, the offer on the additional shirts is open to you as well. you wil have to add the approriate shipping and handling.

The first edition of these shirts sold out quickly and have become one of the most desirable and rare Motorhead t-shirt collectable known! Don't miss out on this edition!! If you are interested in a shirt and are worried about the deadline, please email me conformation that you are sending an order and I will make sure your choice gets included in the mix.

To order one (or several as many of you did last time), please go to http://www.imotorhead.com/tshirt2000.htm

Michael McIntyre's input about Lemmy and the boys playing a private concert for President and Mrs. Reagan had me in stitches! That would be such a hoot! God I'd love to see Nancy wearing a Motorhead bandana and an OS t-shirt saying "These boys are wonderful! I can hear them clearly without my hearing aid and they have made my blood pump to areas of my anatomy that have been dormant for decades." Prez Reagan could use the show to test out a new form of therapy for his Alzheimer's Disease. It would be essentially to scare the effects out of him, thereby rendering him cognizant, clarified, and cured. Give the old guy a Lemmy-ectomy! He rocked the White House, he rocked the Berlin Wall down, now he can rock with Motorhead to a cure for a terrible malady. Nancy, I'm right beside you the whole way!

Maybe I can shed some light on this firstly Amazon.co.uk had its release for 1st October 2000 then January 1st 2001. it has now been removed altogether

So I went to my local book store and the guy there was very helpful spending over 25 mins on the phone for me.

It seems the book will go straight to paperback and is not expected for release until October 2001 at the earliest

All I can say is what a pain I have ordered the book four times now

Heres one for you Ace what about a email address for the publishers so we can blast em all at once Joe

P.S Thanks for the Brill mp3s on the website I have to say Play the Game is one of the best Motorhead Tracks ever it rates with the best

**Ace: Actually the delays have not been with the publisher...

Subject: OS: Motorhead's Involvement In Wrestling

I would like to comment on what that Casey dude said about Motorhead being involved in the WWF Scene. I think that it is the best thing that could have happened to them at this time in terms of getting a single of theirs pushed. Yes, wrestling is the biggest bunch of bullshit out there, especially the WWF circus, but no matter what you may think of it, it is something that has a huge fuckin' presence in the collective imagination of today's America. Vince Mc Mahon may look like Ronnie Reagan, but he is also known as a starmaker. They are pushing this single big-time because it's the only real piece of music on the whole fuckin' CD. They have that shit with The Rock singing that's nothing more than a novelty thing, and that shitty Billy Gunn tune that's nothing more than a rip-off of Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane" and those other fuckin' pitiful affairs on there.
The fact of life in shitland America today is that you cannot hope to ever have any sort of successful music career in this country unless you play total MTV music and nothing else, for those corporate motherfuckers have monopolized the music scene so that all you see in terms of videos is the shit that they approve of, and no radio station that plays any kind of modern music at all dares to deviate from this and put anything differrent on the fuckin' radio ever. These corporate fucks only want this picture-perfect Hollywood type shit as their scene, and we know that Motorhead is not that. Motorhead has no fuckin' hope of getting on that MTV shit now than they ever did, and all they've ever done there is make these token appearancess. The way that Lemmy looks and acts goes over much better in the world of wrestling. You don't need to be the perfect prettyboy there.
That fuckin' Triple H dude looks like he's about six months younger than Lemmy rather than twenty-plus years younger. The simple fact is that this single will get pushed harder and much farther than any Motorhead single ever has in America, going all the way back to Ace Of Spades. Besides, all American TV is dumb shit anyways. It's a hell of a lot better seeing Motorhead on WWF TV than seeing them being assailed on Jerry Falwell's religious show, or being made a mockery of on Dawson's Creek or some such shit.
Besides, now these people that are so fuckin' obsessed with this wrestling shit can see some real hardcore stuff from Motorhead. The fact that Triple H asked Motorhead himself to do this is going to give this tune instant credibility amongst the fans of that shit. Maybe now than can check Motorhead out and see what real hardcore is about. I keep telling these wrestling marks that Lemmy has lived a way more fuckin' hardcore life than the contrived hardcore of their wrestling heroes. Now they will see what real hardcore is, not that fake shit that is sold to them so much. if they do, maybe they'll do shit like get into music and start bands and try to jam so they could be like Lemmy instead of going up onto the fuckin' roof of their house and jumping off onto some fuckin' flaming table so they can be like Mick Foley and all that useless shit .
Motorhead can't be expected to last all that much longer. I think that it's very cool that they have found an alternate way to get their music out to a new crowd here in America. If they don't, they could just end up giving up on the American market entirely. That would suck. They have an assured audience in the Untied Kingdom and Europe for as long as they want it, so they could just concentrate on that and never release any more CD's or tour here in shitty America again, like Sodom and Tankard and those bands do. It would be nice to still be able to see a concert come through town that wasn't just MTV horseshit once in awhile. The computer is cool and all, but going to concerts is still cool too, and if this WWF thing helps keep Motorhead alive in this cesspool called America, that's a cool thing.

Subject: os: killed by death overated?

With regards the recent debate on whether Killed BY Death is overated. Well I reckon there are dozens of better Motorhead tunes than KBD. In fact I occasionally get embarassed by this song as I am forever trying to convince people that Lemmy is a great songwriter. Those unfamiliar with such masterpieces as Bastards and Overnight Sensation often quote Killed by Death as evidence to the contrary. Don't get me wrong, I like the song, but the lyrics are a bit braindead. "the only time I'm easy is when I'm killed by death"?

The true 'head classics are generally the album tracks that never get played live:
Devils, I Don't Believe A Word, Shake The World, Dead and Gone, 1916, One More Fucking Time. I could go on.

Any way I look forward to the new album. I must admit to not rating We Are Motorhead as highly as previous releases. Although it contains some great tracks.

Hi all.

Rickenbacker's home page http://www.rickenbacker.com says that Lemmy's signature bass (4004LK) is available in a limited edition of 50 (!!!). The man himself is at Ric's front page with that photo which is already a classic, from the day he visited Rickenbacker's headquarters. I would recommend a surfing through Ric's pages, since there are other objects of desire (I mean basses). And save for you the page dedicated to Lemmy and the 4004LK, cause the bass itself is a lot more expensive, so... Oh, how I wish I was rich!

Best wishes.

I have a single with a completely different -- and incomparably much better -- studio version of "White Line Fever" than the one that appears on their first album. On the flip side is a studio version of "Leaving Here." The single is released as "mh 001" on "Blitz Records" (probably bogus). I believe that this is a copy of the original Stiff Records single from 1976. My question is: does anyone know if this version of "White Line Fever" is available on any CD?

Subject: os: some interesting points from motorhead interviews and other

stuff. Motorhead and the internet.
Greeting from freezing Moscow!

Several days ago I was digging some interviews with the band members and some moments that were read attracted my attention. I thought that will be interesting for u, too, so it'd be useful to view the points I'm talking about.

J: Have u seen the number of Motorhead websites that are out there right now?

L: No, I haven't seen any of those websites, I don't have a computer. I do 20 questions every 2 weeks for one of em, though, My favorite is: Do your an- swers have to be so unbearably witty? And I said, "Yes and no!" [laughing] That was my favorite! Cool, but for me, personally, it was kind of bitter to get to know that thing. Nope, 'bitter' is not the right word. Hmmm maybe... errrrrmmmmm unpleasant? I was upset to read these Lem's words. We always hear kind of rumors that Lemmy doesn't care so much about the Net, and this part on the interview is a definite proof of those rumors. A pity.
I guess that Ace, Sarmad, Oliver, Simeon, Boris, Hans, Shuhei, all the guys maintaining Motorhead pages (they are various - from the Official Site to the simple fanpages) understand the way I feel.

If you make a tribute, musical tribute to some band, you surely want to get your tribute, the work u did, to the band that this tribute is dedicated to. And u do it - u mail a copy to the band, for example. That means: hey guys, I like your music! I admire your band! I did a serious word dedicated to u! I made it by my heart! Hopefully u'll like it! That's it.

The Motorhead sites are our web tributes to the band we love. But the thing is, it seems we're not able to make the band check out the results of out labour of love.

Lemmy is not even distinguishing the Official site. For him, it's just 'one of the sites' that he answers questions for. But please understand, I'm not trying to criticize Lemmy, that'd be just like complaining about the sun's shining too damn bright. Or something like that. U're complaining, but there's nothing u can do with that. And I'm not complaining that Lemmy doesn't care about the i-net. I'm not just feeling good cuz of that. And Lem, of course, also doesn't give a fuck about the thing I'm not feeling good. Haha!

But what about Phil and Mikkey? Here's a small fragment of interview with Phil Campbell.
(The whole interview's there http://www.kaos2000.net/interviews/philmotor99.html)

K2K: Do any of you guys ever do anything online?
PC: I answer questions online. The Motorhead official website. I don't know the site address offhand, my son types it all in.

The same thing. Phil answers question for the site, but he doesn't know its address. (Hey Phil, I'll tell u a big secret, the addy is http://www.imotorhead.com Btw how did u like the gunshell model I presented u in St. Peterbourg??? :-)

Well, hopefully Todd Campbell informs his father that there are some dudes. And those dudes put their efforts on the websites dedicated to the band where his father play in.

As for Mikkey, I had a chance to talk to him when Motorhead performed in St. Peterbourg in Russia. It was a long and extremely interesting conversation, and we touched that topics about the Internet and MP3s. Mikkey said he likes websurfing, so he's a visitor of this motherfucking cyberworld, too. As for the spreading music in MP3 format, Mikkey didn't tell us any extreme opinions but he said he understands Metallica that's trying to get the Napster down. Cuz Napster, Mikkey said, is being used for unauthorised music spreading/copying.

These are not Mikkey's exact words, you understand, but it's close to em, Hopefully I didn't pervert the common sense.

And we have to understand and respect Mikkey's opinion despite some of us, probably, disagree with him.

However, the band policy concerning MP3s is just excellent for the fans. Motorhead's always been great to its fans, so it's all the same with the situation with MP3s.
In 2000 the band recorded the remake of Orgasmatron, somewhere I read it was made exclusively for Musicblitz, and this remake was places on the Web, officially free to download, And I guess thousands of people downloaded the remake of Orgasmatron that definitely kicks ass.

A couple of new songs appeared on the Official website just recently. They are Shoot em Down and Play The Game. Again, these MP3s are free for all, giving us all the reasons to praise Motorhead. Well done, Motorhead!!! Hell yeah.

Could u imagine Metallica doing anything like that???? Haha!

Lemme say a couple of words about the things with the Official website of Motorhead. As we all know, Ace got some difficulties with the hosting. It seems that situation is pretty fucked up. What it's all about, the band, emselves, do not finance the running or creation of the website. And Ace have to pay his own money for the hosting, or what? The situation is really ridiculous, ain't it?

Ok, ok, ok. As it was mentioned above, Motorhead commander Lemmy probably doesn't care about the http://www.imotorhead.com That's normal, That's understandable. For me (and the solid part of you that was born in the 70s-80s) Lemmy is a man of the previous generation. Right. And usually previous generation hardly accept technical innovations and can hardly handle em. That's typical, right?

As a matter of fact, the band, emselves, don't have to get troubled with the probs of its Official website. All the band have to do is to play music. That's their profession.

Ok, if the band don't care so much about their site, is Ace the only person who has to care? Probably not! What about the band management??? What the r they doing? The official website is the sphere of their activities and it can be their work. Don't u think so? I don't mean the running of the site, Ace does it quite well, but the management should pay for the hosting and take the problem off Ace.

It's impossible not to understand that the band's website is a powerful instrument of promotion. It's like the band's island in the endless cyber sea. Or like a golden coin in a pile of crap. A band having no official website is like a lame human. The band MUST have its official presence in the Internet. And the managemet should care about it. It's their job.

Oh shit, did I just write all that? The Net, fansites, MP3s, Official site. I'm finishing my fuckin novel. As a conclusion I'll use a phrase that some dude wrote in the guestbook of our site:

>> Super page-tastes like chicken ! We gotta get Lemmy a computer 'cause he's missing all
>> this cool stuff ! Rock n Roll

Yep, indeed! Lem should own a computer, that's the point! Ace, when u speak to Lemmy next time, tell him: 'Man, why don't u buy a fuckin' computer? U should! Maybe the computer's not as good as Jack Daniels is but it's ok, too.' Hahhahaa!

All the best,
Mike Lemster.
