Greetings Fellow Motorheadbangers!!

25th ANIVERSARY SHOW!!

There are no words that I could use to adequately describe the event. It was truly the best Motorhead show that I have ever been priviledged enough to witness! Not only was there cool special guest like Brian May, Fast Eddie, Doro, Whitfield Crane and many more but the bomber lighting rig was pulled out of storage to grace the stage again!

I also got to meet and hang out with soooo many OS members! It was super cool! I mean, the fans really showed their true colors with countries like Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan and more being well represented! Not to mention the hard core UK contingent. It was such an honor to meet you all and I look forward to the day that I can repeat it!

In addition, I managed to get interviews with Larry Wallis and Doro for the website. They will be posted real soon!

I will be offering up a full account soon off of the website. In the mean time, enjoy OS member accounts of the evening, including Sarmad's excellent (as always) overview. Great meeting you buddy! Stay tuned!

A special thanks to all of you that have done so already. Please contact me off of list to arrange shipment. I think it would be cool to do a section in the gallery of nothing but posters. Greetings,
Motorhead did thier buisness in portland, ore on may 27 sat. They kicked ass,of course. The nashville kids rocked.I have a flyer for the show, not a poster. If you want it's yours. They pulled out "Dead men tell no tales"from thier arseanal.I managed to blag a aftershow pass, but the whole lot of 6 people that were waitin' didn't get to meet the band. But the sad choice of "ladies?" did get to "aftershow" with the band. But I proudly wear my pass on my leather.I also heard that they did hang out afterwards at local bar "Club 21", anyone else from PDX go?

Utill next time...
cheers you lot!!

P.S. I've heard that Iron Maiden supported MH on "What's words worth".True/False.

This year I saw this excert in Motorhead page:

April 21/2000 More Tour Dates
I have posted some more tour dates. Included are the dates for South America and a couple more for North America. You can check them out on the Tour Date page.

In addition, Motorhead will be playing in Switzerland, Austria, Spain and Portugal between July 17-27 at various festivals. Specific dates will be posted as I get them. Later in the year will tentatively see Motorhead visiting Japan in September and Germany/United Kingdom in November/December. What a killer year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the loudest band in the world!

I want to ask you why Motorhead excluded Portugal from the tour of 2000?Are they coming in 2001?

**Ace: Ask the promoters in your area. other then that, I have no explaination.

For those Motrhead fans who want to send a letter to get Motrhead on The Simpsons, simply write to the creator, Matt Groening directly.
His address is:

Venice, CA (USA) 90291

He also owns the home next door at:

Matt Groening

Please thank him for his consideration of the greatest Rock n' Roll band in the world.

Also, on a side note, last OS issue I mentioned that I first saw Motrhead in the mid-80s, while in actuality it was between 1987 and 1989, due to the car I was driving at the time. Great show, though.

I have seen the posting to what I said in issue #109, by that dude from the U.K. The first thing that I would like to say if that's the worst "foul-mouthed tirade" that you have ever seen, I think that's pretty amazing. thought that the U.K. wasn't that genteel. The stuff that I write in here is positively tame compared to what I write at the website that I am a part of over at http://go.to/4992 Which has a link to the Motorhead site on my part of it, plus pictures prominently featuring the name and logo of Motorhead. Make what you will of them. If you want to really see some motherfuckin' foul-fuckin'-mouthed tirades about a whole lot of shit, go check that out. Now I can't get any fish and chips around here since the Arthur Treacher's moved out like fuckin' 25 years ago. They don't have that beer here in middle America either. I just don't want to see that fuckin' fat hairy Ron Jeremy on some fuckin' TV show talking abbout how he likes Motorhead so and he doesn't even have 1 Lemmy picture on his fuckin' site, and he has one of Fred Asparagus. By the way, no one has yet been able to tell me who that fucker is. If I go to a site with Lemmy's name in the address, I want to see something cool, not gibberish. What the fuck is wrong with that? The good things in life nowadays include being able to go all around the fuckin' world in a virtual way. That means that anyone can be like Lemmy and the band and get all around everywhere and get fuckin' wild and free all over the globe. That's what I'm doing dude. Being wild and free and having a good fuckin' time. I think that you need to calm down, not me. I'm having fuckin' fun man. Thanks for giving me an excuse to promote the site I'm on though. Later and fuckin rock on all my fedllow Motorhead freaks!!

Right, I'm finally getting round to posting on the list... I've been subscribing since no31, and I've been into Motrhead ever since I heard Ace of Spades on the radio, and thought 'what the fuck was that', then I got the album for Christmas, and thought 'Who the fuck are these guys?'. I first saw them on the Iron Fist tour waaay back in '81, I've seen them loads of times since, and I'm lapsed MHB 68 (still got the certificate). I almost didn't go after the fairly abysmal performance at the Rock and Blues, where they seemed to be going through the motions a bit, and played for only an hour, and were let down by the PA (it sounded like they nearly blew it up). I don't know why they stopped at midnight, cos the trance tent was very loud all night...
I'd already got tickets for Hawkwind, and decided to get tickets about three days before, so we ended up in the circle, which was good, cos I was somewhat knackered after Hawkwind. A quick aside, the Hawkwind show was excellent, Hawkwind themselves played for about 3 and a half hours, with Lemmy appearing half way through, which sent the crowd wild...He really livened the show up, and played really well, doing (I think) Psychedelic Warlords..., Space Is Deep, Sonic Attack, Orgone Accumulator, and of course Silver Machine, plus a lot of jamming...
Anyway back to Sunday...it seemed to start as the standard show that I've seen the last few times recently, with We are Motrhead/No Class/Over Your Shoulder...can't remeber exactly what came next, but the highlights were Doro and some bloke (from the Prodigy??) guesting on Born to Raise Hell (his mike didn't seem to work, but when it did he seemed to be shouting stuff...), Eddie Clarke guesting on The Chase is Better than the Catch, Wurzel (not announced, he just kinda crept on stage), and Phil's son on Killed by Death. A revived oldie was Damage Case, and if anyone wonders about the difference between Mikkey D and Phil Taylor, then this track really showed it. Mikkey just couldn't do Phil's particularly wierd rhythms on this track justice...where was Phil when we needed him?? While I'm having a drumming bitch, while Mikkey D is a very good drummer, his drum solos are, to be blunt, boring. I've seen them a few times now, and they really do nothing for me. He seems to struggle a bit to make them interesting. I've seen many other bands do drum solos, and while they're not always my favourite bit, the others do seem to have been a lot better. After the main part of the set things went very dark, then there were air raid sirens, and incredibly loud bombing effects. 'Hmm, seems like something big coming' I thought, with no idea of the surprise in store. They returned to the stage with 'Bomber', and from the heavens, cunningly hidden right at the top of the stage, the ultimate lighting rig descended, the one and only Bomber. For those that haven't seen it, it truly is a treat of Spinal Tap proportions, lurching around and wobbling precariously above the band, as it 'flies' around...it stayed around for Ace of Spades, and Overkill, which featured Eddie Clarke, Brian May, and a guitarist from Skunk Anansie making lots of noise. Then it was guitars on the amps, and off to bed with ringing ears...we could've got to the party at the Hard Rock, but we were to knackered after a brilliant weekend. All in all it was a brilliant show, the sound was excellent, and the band were on top form...

hope y'all haven't got too bored with my massive first submission

Subject: os: 25th anniversary gig!

It took me quite a few days to recover from the side-effects of this one! I arrived at the London Brixton Academy at around 3:30pm and met up with my guests including Chris Sage, Mick Stevenson, Robert Kiewik, Oliver Kampf, Klaus Fabry, Stefano Loi, Artyom Golew (all the way from Russia!), Thomas Huls (famous for his Motorhead tattoos and featured in the G.S.T.Q. video), Peter Sempel (the guy making the Lemmy documentary) and Oliver Cornfield.

We got in and waited in the auditorium for the band to arrive for soundcheck. While most people were recovering from last night's Hawkwind show, I was recovering from a friend's wild stag-night! While waiting, I also met up with Ace Trump and Alan Burridge which was cool! Brian May was sitting at the front of the stage. He told me he will join the band for a couple of numbers, but refused to tell me which ones as it was secret. Ace Trump introduced me to someone I would never have recognised - Witfield Crane. That guy had sliced his hair off! He was going to join the band for "Born To Raise Hell". Fast Eddie also came and joined us all for a chat.

The Motorhead members soon came on stage and soundcheck began. It was amazing watching Lemmy, Phil, Mikkey, Brian May and Fast Eddie just jamming together! Then came a surprise private performance of "Damage Case", something they hadn't sang for fucking years! About 2000 balloons were held up by nets on the ceiling, to be unleashed at the end of the show. However, because the sound was too loud, some of the balloons were already beginning to fall! Then the crew revealed another surpse for us who were lucky to be at soundcheck. The Bomber lighting rig revealed itself as it swooped down from the ceiling to give a quick preview of itself before returning back out of view!

Backstage I met Lemmy at his dressing room. I had some gifts that various people sent me to hand over to him. It was funny when my mobile phone rang. It was Lemmy's friend Silvia (The Queen Of Spades) who came from Barcelona for the show. To suprise them both, I gave the phone to Lemmy. It was funny when Silvia at first didn't believe it was him on the phone and kept on telling him to shut-up or something!

Soon the doors opened, the punters rolled in and I went to the bar with Alan Burridge, Nigel Moore and Oliver Cornfield. Met up with other OS'ers including Shuhei Hasegawa, Loic Battais, Patrick von Schuckman Silvia, Steve and Susan Lunay. Met up with the Girlschool clan at the VIP bar - drummer Denise Duffort was a real god laugh. She and I just wound each other up all night.

We missed support-band Speedealer while drinking at the bar. We went into the auditorium when Motorhead were due to start any minute. I was surprised to see Wurzel sitting only a few seats away from me!

When they came on stage, the audience gasping at the return of Lemmy's classic handle-bar moustache/beard, the band commenced with "We Are Motorhead" to start an avalanche of classics. At one point Lemmy went sang a few lines of heavy blues before going into the song "You Better Run" from "March Or Die". The first appearance of special guests was on "Born To aise Hell" with Witfield Crane and Doro. I don't remember Lemmy introducing any of the guests thoughout the show, so I wasn't surprised when some of the audience old me afterwards that they thought Doro was Nina C. Alice (from Skew Siskin) who sang the song with Motorhead at last year's London gig.

Other special guests throughout the show were Brian May, Fast Eddie Clarke, Paul Inder (Lem's son) and Todd Campbell.

Of course, there was THAT history-repeats-itself moment that everybody was waiting for. When the air-raid sirens blasted from the PA's, everyone knew what was to come. The band kicked into Bomber as they were accompanied by the famous bomber-shaped lighting rig - more significant than ANY special guest they had that night!

After the show (during which several cans of cider were consumed by moi), the VIP's headed outside behind the venue and waited for the coaches to take us to the after-show party. I ended up sitting next to Paul Inder and we just told tasteless jokes throughout the journey. However, in my drunken state, my jokes came out disastrous!

The party was at Hard Rock Cafe. We had a covers band playing called the Counterfeit Stones. At least we all knew what they were singing, so who can complain. I met Doro and had a nice chat with her. She a very approachable lady, very friendly indeed! Denise carried on joking and teasing me. Then Doro started making fun of me because I had a lip-print on my cheek which I hadn't noticed all evening, and I can't even remember who it came from!

When the Counterfeit Stones completed their show, the band were called up on stage to be presented a 25th Anniversary cake. This was followed on by more partying into the late hours. I stayed on 'til the bitter end until the place was empty and the staff had to kick me out. Then it was trying to find an typically unreliable London night-bus to take me home. I didn't get home until 6:00 in the morning.

Anyway, for those who missed this excellent show, it will be released on DVD I think this X-mas. I've got to give a big thanks to Vanessa Warwick for organising the whole show and for looking after me and my guests.

I took lots of photos which I'll put on the 'Net once I got my bloody scanner working!

Now to look forward to Lemmy's 55th birthday and X-Mas party gig in December.

Laterz,

Sarmad.

Hi All Motorheadbangers!

The whole Japanese performance has been seen.
It was a comparatively little meeting place. Japanese MOTORHEADMABNGERS swelled, too. It was fundamentally the same though the set list of four days took its place a little. It could enjoy about 90-minute shows. And, what is seen in Japan is expected.

The next goes to see a commemoration live show 25th anniversaries in brixton!

Hey Ace, thanx for the work you do to keep us up on what Motorhead is up to. just got back from the UK, saw the Hawkwind and Motorhead shows, fucking rocked, was great to see Lemmy up with his former constituents and finally heard him sing Silver Machine, the Motorhead show was great london is a wild city and look forward to getting back there again,Brian May was a great treat to see, always knew he could JAM!!,had a chance to hop over to Amsterdam to check it out and recommend it to anyone who can get there, the only drawback to the trip was my camera bag was stolen off the train from Brussels to Amsterdam, coupe of cheap cameras and film but the bag did contain a paperback copy of Time of the Hawklords that was autographed by members of Hawkwind, was hoping to maybe get an autograph by "Count Motorhead "himself to comlete the collection, was wondering if you could maybe post on a future OS that if anyone came across that book Id love to get it back and would be willing to reward the finder NO questions asked,it was a black tamarac camera bag had two Olympus cameras and about 15 rolls of film, plus meager toiletries, hairbrush, and toothbrush, the bag had three pins on the front, one was motorhead 1916, one was Hawkwind Love in Space, and a smaller Strange Days 98 pin, let my guard down for a few minutes and it was gone, dont care about anything else in it but like I said , Id love to see that book again if possible,it was our first time in London and hope to get over there to see Motorhead again,It was great to see the old bomber light rig come out of retirement, wasnt as much moshing in the front as I expected , gets pretty wild at chicago shows, but Im not a mosher so it made it easier to enjoy the show, looking forward to seeing Motorhead in the US soon,Phil Cambell gets tighter every time around,Ive always loved Fast Eddie's work but Phil has definately become one of my top 3 guitarists, looking forward to your reviews on the show, thanx Dave in chicago

Hello rock'n'rollers,

Let us inform you about the stuff that just appeared on our site.
3 new MP3s were added to the section of sounds.

- Waltz Of The Vampire. Raw alternate version of 'Dance' from Ace of Spades rehearsals.

Covers:

- Orgasmatron by Satyricon. Yep. Immortal Motorhead song performed by black metal band. It's a must, kind of, because this cover version sounds extremely cool.

- Please Don't Touch. By Stray Cats. Cool stuff, too. Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim was on Lemmy's solo album.

So, if you need these MP3s, come and get em.

Best wishes,

Well is was a fantastic evening, Motorhead came onstage quite late, I think was later 9:30pm. Lem said something like 'We ar Motorhead, and we're gonna clog your pipes' The opener was We Are Motorhead, a fantastic song, just over 2 minutes of the purest Motorhead.......

Phil C had ants in his pants for the whole evening, he was all over the bloody stage, odd seeing Mikkey with black hair? Nice to see so many people had raided their Grandmothers' wardrobes for their old 'Ace Up Your Sleeve' tour shirts.

At last our prayers had been answered on the set-list, re-jigged, bits added, changed round etc. The inclusion of You Better Run was a great suprise. 'Damage Case' was an excellent choice for 'new oldie', poor old Lem had a spot of trouble with the bass bits and the lyrics though. He did admit afterwards that it was his fault the song was f**ked up though, what a gent :-)

Friends and family sections scaled new heights with the inclusion of Doro Pesch and Whitfield (?) Crane for Born To Raise Hell. 'The' Eddie Clarke for TCIBTTC. Nepitism to extreme on Killed By Death with Phil and Lem lads playing.

Bomber and we had the famous doing it's thing. Haven't seen it for years, it made my bloody evening!!!

Just when you thought it was safe etc etc blah blah then we get Overkill, served up with Brian May, Eddie Clarke and the bloke from Skunk Anansie. Mr May was 'going for it'. It's obvious that he is a closet hard rock guitarist, I think we witnessed his 'coming out'

All in all a fantastic night. What happened to the other members of the Motorhead 'old boys' club? Were any more backstage? I did see Alan Burridge/Sarmad etc dissapear into the VIP lounge, maybe/hopefuly they can shed some more light.

Set list:-

Just to say your Motorhead Web Site is Amazing but if there is one little point I could make is it doesn't get kept up to date enough. I know I am maybe just been a moaning cunt but it has been two months since it has been updated which seems a shame as Motorhead are on a Big tour at the moment and nobody knows how's it is goin ?
Anyway
Keep Rockin

Dear acetrump,

It is very strange thatpeople get all brave & start to slag Lemmy off when he is not there in person (reference the latest series of Never mind the Buzzcocks). If i remember the show that Lemmy was on all were scared or admiring of the great man. Lemmy may not be what the current ball less music industry want but he has more spirt in him than every boy band in the pop charts at the moment. I would like to find out what Lemmy thinks about both Never mind the Buzzcocks & boy Bands.

Subject: OS: WE ARE MOTORHEAD AND WE`RE GONNA CLEAN YOUR CLOCK...
Date: Sat, 4 Nov 2000 17:12:01

WE ARE MOTORHEAD AND WE`RE GONNA CLEAN YOUR CLOCK!...THESE ARE THE FIRST WORDS LEMMY SAID AS MOTORHEAD TOOK OVER THE STAGE AT THE BRIXTON ACADAMY IN LONDON,ENGLAND FOR THERE 25TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW.MYSELF,(BOB G`ACOVINO) AND MY FRIEND TOMMY FLYNN,==(THE ONLY ONE I KNOW WHO HAS THE BALLS BIG ENOUGH TO THROW CAUTION TO THE WIND AND FLY WITH ME TO LONDON FROM N.Y.C. TO EXPERIENCE A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT SUCH AS THE MIGHTY MOTORHEAD ON THERE 25TH BIRTHDAY) HAD THE GREATEST TIME,=IT WAS ONE PUB TO THE NEXT, A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT FOR EVERY MEAL, AND AFTER OUR LATENITE JAUNTS WE WOULD COME BACK TO THE HOTEL AND WATCH THE YANKEES BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF THE METS IN THE SUBWAY SERIES! WHAT ELSE CAN YOU ASK FOR, O.K. YEAH, I KNOW, CHICKS!!! WELL NOTHING IS PERFECT. (USUALLY, I`M PRETTY GOOD WITH WOMEN, PERSONALLY, I THINK IT WAS THE SMELL OF TOMMYS FEET KEEPING THEM AWAY). SATURDAY WAS HAWKWIND,AS THE ENGLISH MIGHT SAY, THIS WAS NOT MY CUP OF TEA. THE LIGHT SHOW WAS DECENT, BUT I FOUND THE PERFORMANCE AND MUSIC A BIT BORING FOR MY TASTE. WHEN LEMMY CAME OUT FOR THE LAST QUARTER OF THE SHOW, HE SEEMED A BIT DISTANT, LIKE A FISH OUT OF WATER. BUT I THINK IT WAS A FINE THING HE DID, BY SHOWING UP AND PUTTING BAD FEELINGS ASIDE AND JOINING HIS OLD MATES. AND NOW THE MAIN EVENT. THIS MAY WELL BE THE FINEST MOTORHEAD SHOW I`VE EVER WITNESSED (I`VE BEEN TO ALMOST EVERY TOUR IN THE STATES SINCE `81, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I SAW THEM OUTSIDE THE U.S.A.) I`M GOING TO GIVE A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THIS SHOW, AND IT`S HIGHLIGHTS, FOR I KNOW THERE WILL BE MANY ON THIS LIST DESCRIBING IN DETAIL THE MANY ASPECTS. THIS SHOW, IN IT`S BASIC PART,=ARE THE SAME SONGS THEY HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF TOURS, MINUS A COUPLE, BUT ADDING TWO NEW ONES THAT ABSOULUTLY IMPROVED THERE SET. "YOU BETTER RUN" FLOORED ME, LEMMY`S BASS SOLO IN THE BEGINNING WAS GREAT! HARMONIZED SINGING OVER THE BASS GUITAR NOTES, THEN INTO THE REGULAR SONG. THEN COMES A REAL TREAT! LEMMY SAYS:"I HAVE`NT PLAYED THIS NEXT ONE SINCE 1981, THIS IS CALLED "DAMAGE CASE"...I THINK THE GUY NEXT TO ME PISSED HIS PANTS HE WAS SO HAPPY! EVERYONE WAS SO INTO IT, AND THEY PLAYED IT GREAT, EXCEPT I THINK LEMMY MISSED A LINE, BUT IT DID`NT MATTER, HE COVERED UP GREAT. "DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES" WAS ANOTHER STAND OUT (THIS IS A PERSONAL FAVORITE OF MINE, I`VE ENJOYED IT THE LAST FEW TIMES THEY PLAYED IT THIS YEAR)...AND OF COURSE, WHEN FAST EDDIE CAME OUT FOR "THE CHASE IS BETTER THAN THE CATCH" IT WAS AWESOME! YOU COULD STILL FEEL THE MAGIC BETWEEN HIM AND LEMMY, THEY HAVE A CERTAIN CHEMISTRY THAT HAS NOT BEEN ERASED BY TIME. AND WAS THAT PHIL`S SON UP THERE WITH LEMMY`S SON, I DONT KNOW?. AND THE ABSOLUTE STUNNER WAS BRIAN MAY MAKING "OVERKILL" HIS OWN, HE WAS GREAT! (DID I SAY GREAT! ENOUGH TIMES YET. JESUS!) ANYWAY, MY REGARDS GO OUT TO FOUR NEW FRIENDS: DIRK AND HIS WIFE, AND PETER AND HIS WIFE. THEY MADE THE TRIP FROM GERMANY. WE HAD ALOT OF FUN WITH YOU GUYS, WE WILL STAY IN CONTACT. WE HOPE YOU WILL COME TO THE STATES TO SEE MOTORHEAD. OH! YEAH!=HOW COULD I FORGET THE BOMBER RIG, SHE LOOKS GREAT FOR 25,THIS IS AN ASPECT OF THE MOTORHEAD SHOW WE DO NOT GET IN THE STATES. AND, OH! YEAH! THE STAGE WAS GREAT!,THE LIGHTS WERE GREAT!, THE CROWD WAS GREAT!...WHY CAN`T I STOP SAYING GREAT???, PROBABALLY BECAUSE IT WAS FUCKING
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.............I
NEED A DRINK, LATER...BOB.

Hello bastardbangers all over the world, I felt the tingles of excitement going up spine when I flew to London for the anniversary concert. They are around 25 years now, I am so proud to be a Motorhead fan, I have heard them for the first time only 13 years ago and abused my ears with their music since then. It seems to me that my ears now refuse any other kind of music (!). I don't want to describe the show, I leave the space to those of you who speak english one thousand times better than me. I would only say that when I've seen the bomber light-show I was simply flabbergasted, on the other side I think the sound was not loud enough this time. Anyway, a Motorhead show, what a beautiful thing is to see, I have covered a thousand miles across Europe to catch up them. I don't have a steady girl since 9 years because the reality is that I am in love with Motorhead, this love goes over the music, I admire their attitude, their energy and their coherence. They keep me up in spirits, without them I wouldn't be the same. This concert in London was very strong in taste, I was abroad and in Motorhead's mother land, above all was their anniversary, I was living for days this special atmosphere I had the great pleasure to meet other fans at this special show, we were coming from all the world. Here I want to say hello to some of them, because of their help and kindness:
-- Ned Popac from Yugoslavia. Ned, keep always the flag of freedom forever flying.
-- Ace Trump from the U.S.A..
-- Jordi Marti, Flecha and Carlos from Spain.
-- Shuhei Hasegawa and Takashi "Chips" Koike from Japan. I almost didn't believe my ears when Chips said me he named his daughter Lemmy!!
-- Chris Sage and Sarmad Sheik from England. Chris, you are right, we are like a big family. Sarmad, maybe you don't know how much I have appreciated your kindness.
-- Artyom Golew from Russia. My friend since early '99. Arty, soon or late I come back to Moscow to annoy you one more time.

We were a mixture of different cultures and languages but like brothers under the Motorhead flag.

We are the first and we just still might be the last - We are Motorhead, born to kick your ass. 25 years....Best wishes Lem.

Stefano

**Ace: Stefano, it was a real treat to meet you aswell. Thanks for taking the time.
